Laurel R. Clark
MIDDLEFIELD - Laurel Ruby Clark, 97, died Saturday, Aug., 3, 2002, at the Briar Hill Healthcare Residence in Middlefield.
She was born July 11, 1905, in Windsor Township, the daughter of Charles and Grace Thomas.
Mrs. Clark was a 1923 graduate of the Andrews School in Willoughby and worked at the Educational Supply Co. and the Lake County Prosecutor's Office before her retirement in 1969.
She lived most of her life in Painesville. She was a member of the Painesville United Methodist Church, Willing Workers and the Women's Business Association.
She enjoyed traveling, visiting Cuba in the 1930s. She and her husband especially enjoyed trips to Canada.
They also enjoyed dancing, dining out and entertaining their many friends and family.
Survivors include a brother, Gordon Adams of Fort Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee H., in 1989; her parents; and a brother, Harold Thomas.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be in Mesopotamia Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Fannie Schmucker
MIDDLEFIELD - Fannie Schmucker, 89, of Georgia Road in Middlefield, died Wednesday morning, April 4, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 30, 1911, in Middlefield, the daughter of Joe and Saloma (Detweiler) Miller, and had been a lifelong area resident.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include a son, Neil of Middlefield; five daughters, Sarah Fisher, Katherine Fisher and Irene Miller, all of Middlefield, Mary Farmwald of Burton and Fannie Shetler of Smitsburg, Pa.; 57 grandchildren; 267 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe Miller of Burton, and John Miller of Middlefield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one daughter.
Service is 9:30 a.m. Friday at her home, 15905 Georgia Road, Middlefield. Bishops Andy Byler and Dan Gingerich will officiate. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery in Parkman Township.
Friends may visit at the home anytime.

John N. Miller
MIDDLEFIELD - John N. Miller, 71, of Middlefield, died Monday, April 21, 2003, in the early morning.
He worked at Johnson Plastics for 35 years.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St. (Route 87), Middlefield.
Service will be Thursday, April 24, 2003, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

MIDDLEFIELD - Andrew Mikita, 74, of Burton Township, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007.
Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, Ohio.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Amelia Birchak
MIDDLEFIELD – Amelia Birchak, 94, of Middlefield and former resident of Hartsgrove, died at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital, Sunday evening, December 5, 2004.
She was born January 6, 1910 in Salamanca, New York, the daughter of Vincent and Antonia (Bajorska) Zadzilka.
Amelia was a member of St. Mary Church in Orwell.
She is survived by sisters Julia Keptke of Medina and Mary Seredich of Middlefield and is preceded by her husband Andrew (May 20, 1996) and son Dennis (Feb. 28, 1958).
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at St. Mary Church, 103 North Maple Street, Orwell with Rev. Gregory Fedor was Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Holy Spirit Byzantine Cemetery in Cleveland.
Friends will be received 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the PAINE-GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 140 East Main Street, Orwell, Ohio.
Daniel J. Stutzman
MIDDLEFIELD - Daniel J. Stutzman, 82, of Nauvoo Road in Middlefield, died Aug. 30, 200, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 11, 1919, in Middlefield, the son of Jonas E. and Amanda (Byler) Stutzman. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was a sawmill owner and operator for many years.
Mr. Stutzman was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, whom he married Jan. 9, 1941, in Middlefield; three sons, Ray, Jonas and John, all of Middlefield; five daughters, Mary Ann Carr of Mesopotamia, Clara Miller, Barbara Kuhns, Betty Yoder and Katie Troyer, all of Middlefield; 44 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William of Sugar Creek, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one daughter; one grandchild; two sisters; and one brother.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at 16350 Nauvoo Road in Middlefield. The Rev. William A. Byler will officiate. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Huntsburg Township.
Friends may call anytime at 16350 Nauvoo Road.

Eunice E. Alvord
MIDDLEFIELD - Eunice E. Alvord, 86, Middlefield, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Blossom Hill Health Care Residence, Huntsburg Township.
She was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Chardon, the daughter of Mortimer and Alice (Rowley) Eldredge.
A 1934 Chardon High School graduate, she was active in sports, music, drama club, student council and was class secretary/treasurer. She was a graduate of Spencerian College, Cleveland, with a secretarial degree.
She worked at Highland Hotel, Chardon, and Brokerage Houses, Cleveland. For many years, she helped her husband at D.D. Reynolds Insurance Agency, Middlefield. She enjoyed cooking, socializing, shopping and playing piano.
Mrs. Alvord was a member of First United Methodist Church, Middlefield, and Clover Chapter, Order of Eastern Star 201.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Gorse of Waynesville, N.C., Marcia Nedved of Middlefield, and Donna Adco of Palatine, Ill.; two sons, Robert of Mentor and Douglas of Madison; two brothers, Jack Eldredge of Chardon, Eugene Eldredge of Salinas, Calif.; a sister, Polly Eldredge of Chardon; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merton; a son, Thomas, at age 3; and four brothers, Franklin, Clifford, Nelson and Sherwood.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, with the Rev. William Norman of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Chardon Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
