Margaret A. McBean (nee: Steinbach) died Dec. 11, 2004, at Chardon Healthcare Center in Chardon. Born Dec. 6, 1923, in Soldier, Iowa, she lived in Claridon Township and Chardon since the 1950s. She was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving at Camp Lejeune, N.C., where she met and married her husband Robert Russell McBean. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Claridon. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. McBean was a homemaker and later in life, she was a cook at Berkshire High School. Survivors are her son, Gene (Linda) McBean of Chardon; daughters, Jenny Williams and Pat Burnheimer of Windsor Township; grandchildren, Shelley (Greg) Short of Maryland, Jim (Tammy) McBean of Chardon, Peggy Williams of Cleveland, and Laura Williams of Toledo; great-grandchildren, Jeff Short of Maryland, Hayden and Laney McBean of Chardon, and Sinclaire Williams of Cleveland; brother, Albert Steinbach of Rogers, Ark.; and sister, Leona Lucia of Benton, Ark. Her husband, Robert Russell McBean, whom she married July 17, 1945, died Jan. 27, 1976. Her parents, George and Margaretha (Hasl) Steinbach; and sister, Mary Olson, are also deceased. The family suggests contributions be made to First Congregational Church of Claridon, 13942 Mayfield Road, Huntsburg 44046.

Robert “Sid” Henry Sidbeck Sr., age 66, of Heather Hill Health Care in Chardon, OH, formerly of Saybrook Township, Ashtabula, died Monday, September 20, 2004, at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township, OH. Born September 21, 1937, in Ashtabula, OH, he was the son of Henry and Margaret (nee: Hensel) Sidbeck and a graduate of Harbor High School. He married Mary Lou McIntosh in Whiting Field, Florida, on June 7, 1957. He had worked as Yard Foreman for Valley Building in Geneva since 1987, retiring in 2001. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served on the flight line at Lakehurst, NJ, and Whiting Field, FL. Mr. Sidbeck’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou (nee: McIntosh) Sidbeck of Chardon; sons, Robert H. (Carmen) Sidbeck of Pembroke Pines, FL, and David Sidbeck of Chardon; grandchildren Tina and Bobby Sidbeck; brothers Charles Sidbeck and Alan (Janice) Sidbeck, all of Ashtabula; sisters, Shirley Wilkinson of Geneva, Donna (Tom) Orr, Mary Jane (Richard) Scott of Mentor-on-the-Lake; and his parents, Henry and Margaret (nee: Hensell) Sidbeck.
Donald A. Rauch Sr.

Mr. Rauch was a charter member of the Newbury Fire Department, where he had served as fire chief for 13 years and a member of the Newbury United Community Church. He was an avid bowler and golfer. His pride and joy was his restored 1957 Chevy pickup truck that could be seen around Newbury as soon a spring broke. He is survived by his wife Lillian of Newbury Twp., daughter Jodi (William) Almstead of Chardon, sons Donald A. Rauch of Newbury Twp. and Raymond Rauch of Newbury Twp. 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Grant of Orlando, FL. His parents Louis F. and Elizabeth (Nee: Gynn) Rauch are deceased. Arne Melby, age 86, residing in Chardon Twp., for 27 years. Prior in Chagrin Falls, Oh. Formerly of Melbourne, Australia. He was a Chemical Engineer for B.F. Goodrich Chemical Company retiring in 1976 after 37 years. Member of Valley Lutheran Church, Chagrin Falls, OH, where he was active in various areas of the church, including the Braille group. Graduate of Case Institute of Technology, 1939, BS in Engineering. Enjoyed now skiing and jumping, woodworking and horticulture. He had been a member of the Saturday night Dance Club in Cleveland. Worked with the Boy Scouts of America in Chagrin Falls building fiberglass canoes. Had an enthusiasm for all types of construction projects. He had qualified for his private pilot's license. Survivors are his wife Marie (nee: Oden)Melby of which he married in Borger, Texas, February 17, 1946. Daughter: Lynn (Mark) Sableman of St. Louis, Missouri; Sons: Arne (Cherie) Melby M.D. III of Akron, Ohio; Kenneth (Jane) Melby M.D. of Atlanta, Georgia; 8 Grandchildren: Todd, Christie, Jennifer, Paul, Charlotte, Brian, Lucy and Margaux; Sisters: Mrs. Ann clapp of Kirtland, OH and Mrs. Helen Klefstad of Cannon Falls, Minnesota; Deceased are his parents: Olaf and Marie (Nee: Sven) Melby; Son: Clair Melby and Sister: Randi Louise Melby. Mrs. Graham was the oldest of 11 children. For over 20 years, she was the cook for the Sisters of the Ursline Order, St. Mary’s in Mentor and Humility of Mary, Painesville. She enjoyed crocheting and collecting recipes. Mrs. Graham’s passion was baking. She is survived by her son Hugh J. (Marilyn) Graham, III of Fairport Harbor, daughter Mary Ellen (Steve) Huszai of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren Hugh J. (Melissa) Graham IV of Perry Twp., John (Norma) Graham of Painesville, Kristen Huszai of Germantown, MD; great grandchildren Jessica Presley, Michele Graham, Katie Keltto, Hugh Graham V, Autumn Graham and sisters Mildred Kirbish of Euclid and Rosemary Kovacic of Hartsgrove. Her husband Hugh J. Graham, Jr., whom she married November 26, 1936, preceded her in death January 2, 1958. Her parents Joseph and Mary (nee: Ziegler) Valvoda, 6 brothers and 2 sisters are also deceased.

She enjoyed traveling, gaming, playing the lottery and was an avid bingo player.
