Mary Margaret McFarland
Mary Margaret (Johnson) McFarland, age 84, of Canton, died Saturday, August 25, 2001 in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. She resided at the Canton Regency. She was born to the late Charles M. and Bertha Johnson. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. McFarland, who died August 19, 2000; sister, Annette Sheil; and grandson, Steven Kark. Following graduation from McKinley High School she operated the Mary Margaret School of Dance. Mary Margaret was an avid reader, writer and painter, and collected teddy bears. At the age of 78 an article of hers was published in Ohio Magazine. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she worked in the library for many years. She also volunteered at the Players Guild in the office. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Sponseller and Susan McFarland of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Pamela McFarland of Massillon and Robert and Roberta McFarland of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren, Christine DeMeo, Michael Kark, Mark and Melinda Schenk, Amy, Carrie, Kathryn, and Rebekah McFarland; one great-granddaughter, Lyndsey DeMeo. Memorial service will be Thursday 1 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Peter M. Ranalli Sr. Friends may call on Wednesday (tonight) 6-9 p.m. in the ROSSI FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. He was a man that loved his family above all else. He lived for his wife, children, and grandchildren. The most important thing to him was to be with them. His grandchildren were the Apple of his eye. It was very important to him to teach his children good values in all aspects of life. Our father was a success in everything he did, but we will always remember you Dad, for your greatest success of all, and that is being the greatest father to us. Ranada Y. Moss
Ranada Yvette Moss, 34, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2001 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Long Island, NY. She graduated from Newtown High School in Queens New York, attended LaGuardia Community College, was employed at Black Enterprise Magazine as a type setter and accepted Christ at Holy Unity Baptist Church. She was involved in several church organizations including the choir, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, and a member of the Covenant Women of Purpose. Presently she was a member and Administrative Assistant at The New Beginning Foursquare Gospel Church in Canton and formerly employed by Kohl's Department Store. Ranada leaves to cherish many memories to mother, Mary Moss; uncles, Rev. Walter (Darleen) Moss of Canton, Aaron (Queen) Moss of Pensacola, FL; great uncle, Alfred Stroud of Canton; great aunts, Emma Bostick of Auburn, AL., Allie Strong, Elaine Johnson both of Detroit MI; cousins, Cheryl Moses, Alaigeh Moses, Shannon Moses, Mari Moss, Aaron J. Moss Jr., Alton Moss, Munirah I. Robert R. Crofut
Robert R. Crofut, was born to Elmer and Myrtle Crofut on January 4, 1938 and went to be with Jesus on August 27, 2001. Bob retired from The Timken Company in 1992 after 36 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Mama (Miller) Crofut; son, Jim (Carol) Crofut, Gahanna, OH; daughters, Julie (Tracy) Drew, Springboro, OH., Jill (Eric) Jones and Joyce (Steve) Barber of Gahanna, OH; and step-daughter, Lisa (Allan) Winn of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Nicole Drew, Bryce Drew, Kayla Jones, Luke Barber, Grace Barber, Jaslin Cooke and Baby Jones; sisters, Norma (Alton) Horne, Pat (Roger) Kurzen; brother, John Crofut; mother-in-law, Hazel (Miller) Ness; and many nieces and nephews. Bob and Linda shared a very special love for each other and for the Lord. He loved his church, family, garden, and Monday Night Golf with his buddies. Stephen R. Bozurich
Stephen R. Bozurich, age 92, of Canton passed away Tuesday afternoon in Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. A full obit will be published in Thursday's paper. Calling hours will be Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral is being plan for Friday morning. The Rossi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Vera Catherine Chiofolo
Vera Catherine Chiofolo, Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God. Vera Catherine Chiofolo, age 92, of North Canton, went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness, at her home on August 25, 2001. Vera was born in Greentown, OH, on May 12, 1909. She retired in 1972 from the Hoover Co., after 30 years of service. She was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and other family members. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sons-in-law, Fritz Barkey and Mickey McDonald; and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving family daughter, Rose Barkey of the City of Green; son, Tony Chiofolo of Akron; daughter, Adelyn McDonald of North Canton; grandchildren, Eric (Mary) Barkey, Karl (Becky) Barkey, Kristina Barkey, Karen (Greg) Antonik, Joseph (Donna) Chiofolo, Mickey (Valerie) Haridakis, Renee (Phil) Garbark, Michelle (James) Vicchiarelli; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2001, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., with Fr. David Durkee officiating. William Ledger
William David Red Ledger, age 42, of Canton, beloved son of Virginia W. Ledger, passed away Sunday evening. He graduated from Timken High School and attended Akron University, a former employee of J.C. Penney and Combined Insurance. He was a self-employed home renovator before becoming owner of Woodpecker Construction. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Harry E. and Sara A. Wilhelm, sister, Cindy Ann Ledger and uncle, David C. Wilhelm. He is survived by his mother; his brothers, Michael Ledger and Gregory Ledger; fiancee, Deborah Guedel; uncle Harry E. Wilhelm and beloved friend, Mrs. Dorothy Irons. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours in the funeral home Thursday 6-9 p.m.

Domino Crusos (Cami Berginides)
Domino Crusos formerly known as, Cami Marie Berginides, age 33, a beautiful and courageous spirit, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001 at Houston Northwest Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident. She was born Nov. 22, 1967 in Canton, OH and relocated to Houston in February, 1987. Survived by her father, Gust Berginides and his wife, Beverly; aunt, Mary Berginides, all of Houston; mother, Sandi Vitangeli; brother, Christian Berginides; aunt and uncle, Susan and Fred Hill; uncle, Eliot Vitangeli, all of Canton; half brother, Larry Kern and his wife, Marie of Cambridge, MA; uncle, Joe Vitangeli of California; as well as nieces and nephews and numerous loving friends in Houston and Austin. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Elsie and Scotty Vitangeli; grandmother, Parthena Berginides. Alice G. Blake
Alice G. Blake, age 93 of Canton, OH., passed away Tuesday evening, August 28, 2001 in Massillon Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Barton, OH., March 21, 1908 to her parents the late John and Tacy (Graham) Cunningham, she lived most of her life in the Canton area. She was formerly self-employed in the health care profession. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Blake in 1958; her daughter, Angel Ballard; and two sons, Earl and Don Blake (both from Louisville, OH) Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Eleanor Grant of Crystal River, FL; and her sister, Mabel Kuziack of Colorado. There are four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren also surviving. Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Michael M. Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday (TONIGHT) from 6-8 p.m.
Anita Dawn Weaver
Anita Dawn Weaver, age 33, of Akron, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday August 28, 2001. She was born in Canton on July 31, 1968 to Ernest E. Mabel (Schlabach) Weaver and resided in Hartville when younger. Anita had been a Home Health Care Aide and attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship. Preceded in death by her father, Ernest in 1990, and a niece, Veronica in 1996. She is survived by her mother, Mabel Weaver of Hartville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Eugene Miller, Rebecca and Thomas Lubbers, Pauline Webb, Deborah and Thomas Hough, and Leona and Laverne Sommers all of Hartville, and Janet and Clark Lovrien of MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin of Youngstown, Thomas and Julie of Hartville, Steven and Martha of Marlboro, and Timothy and Linda of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tonight Thursday 6-9:00 PM and 1 hour prior to services (Friday 9-10:00 AM) at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Arthur A. Allabach
Arthur A. Allabach, age 68, of Canton, OH, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, August 29, 2001. Born in Sturgis, MI, Feb. 26, 1933 to his parents the late Sid and Ruth Allabach, he lived most of his life in the Canton area and was retired employee of Superior Provision. He was a member of Canton Moose Lodge and was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce. Besides his parents, he was preceded death by his wife, Catherine Allabach, April 26, 1993. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth R. and Sally Allabach of Navarre, OH; two brothers, Larry Allabach of Texas and Carl Allabach of North Carolina; his sister, Alice Brown of Ohio; and four grandchildren. Carrie Ford, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Meridian, MS, and had lived in the Canton Community most of her life. She was a member of the Salvation Army Mission. Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband and several children. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Robert (Chris) Ford of Alliance and Charles Ford of Florida; daughters, Liza Mae Ford, Annie Meadows, both of Canton; grandchildren whom she reared, Trina Frazier, Timmy Ford, Keva Gantt, LaChristopher Ford, Natasha (Ronnie) McClain, Faheem Meadows; sister, Elizabeth Wilcox of Louisville, OH; seven other grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at 1 p.m. from the Shiloh Baptist Church, 700 Market Ave. South, with Pastor Ricky Lawson, Sr. officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
