Delia E. Horn
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. - Delia Elizabeth Horn, 83, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Taylor County, the daughter of Charlie F. and Nellie (Durham) Russell.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She worked as the kitchen supervisor for Meals on Wheels, was a seamstress and was a Kentucky Colonel. She formerly ran Esquire Cleaners and Lady Esquire Dress Shop.
Survivors include her three sons, Charlie Hogan, Rusty Horn and Ricky Horn, all of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Beverly H. Newbold of Kingsville; one sister, Orene Tucker of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh T. Horn, on March 1, 1977; her parents; and her stepmother, Elizabeth D. Russell.
Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with Terry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Park.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, and they will continue after 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Kentucky.
Lila L. Kemp
CLEVELAND - Lila Lee (King) Kemp, 94, formerly of E. 21st St., Ashtabula, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Dec. 7, 1908, in Broughton, Pa., the daughter of Albert Edward and Janie (Meade) King. She had been an Ashtabula resident since 1995.
A graduate of the Pennsylvania Public School, Imperial, Pa., she furthered her education at Blue State Teachers College in Bluefield, W.Va., and Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.
Prior to her retirement, she worked in the public relations and publicity department at Tennessee State University, Nashville.
Survivors include a son, Raymond H. Kemp Jr. of Ashtabula; a daughter, Carolyn Todd Kemp of Ashtabula; one brother, James King of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one sister, Frances Gates of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Kemp Sr., March 26, 2002; three brothers, Andrew, Harold and Albert; four sisters, Marie King, Gertrude Parker, Lenore Lee and Halley Ruth; and her parents.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Stephen R. Long, pastor of Ashtabula First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Jane K. White
FLETCHER, N.C. - Jane Kai White, 65, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003.
She was born July 26, 1937 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of Claire and Grace (Christianson) Kai.
Mrs. White was a nurse for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her three sons, Albert Kai of Valdosta, Ga., Douglas Young of Titusville, Pa., and Brian White of Mills River, N.C.; three stepsons, James White Jr., Clifford White and Joseph White; two daughters, Claire Clugh of Geneva and Kelly Cliff of Fletcher, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Vicki Angel of Marion, N.C.; a brother, Harold Kai of Meadville, Pa.; a sister, Karen Baker of Titusville, Pa., 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James William White Sr., and stepson, George White.
Services will take place 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service, 1101 Greenville Highway, Hendersonville, N.C., with the Rev. Greg Carswell officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Jason D. Kilburn
February 4, 1976 - November 5, 2011

Jason D. Kilburn, age 35. W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, died unexpectedly Saturday at his residence.
He was born February 4, 1976 in Painesville, the son of Robert & Keryn (Owens) Kilburn and has lived in Andover and Ashtabula most of his life. He was a former nursing assistant at Carington Park Nursing Home.
Jason attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church, was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, love to play chess, play World of War Craft on the computer, marvel comics and horror movies.
Jason is survived by his wife, Heather A. (Ramey), two daughters, Courtney of Newton Falls, GA & Kahlan of Ashtabula, his mother, Keryn Geissler of Ashtabula, two sisters, Mary Jo Geissler of Ashtabula & Sherilyn Floss of Jefferson and his grandmother, Mary Owens of Ashtabula.
His father, Robert, grandfathers, Raymond Kilburn & Sam Owens and an aunt, Marilyn Kilburn, all preceded him in death.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7 P. M. at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with a remembrance service to be held at 7:00 P. M.

Catherine A. "Katie" Powers

Catherine A. “Katie” Powers, age 72, March Rd., Jefferson, died Thursday at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center with family by her side after a long struggle with a heart condition.
She was born September 12, 1939 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph & Audrey (Alltop) Cruze and has lived in Jefferson since 1964, coming from Keokuk. She married her husband of 54 years, Billy R. Powers on June 22, 1957 in Keokuk.
Katie founded the Jefferson Community Center in 1976 and served as director for 16 years before retiring to operate Kati-Lynns Gifts & Crafts until closing in 1999. She was very active in the community with Jefferson Little League, Jefferson Athletic Boosters and was also creator of the SOCC Board and the Jefferson Community Park & Nature Trail.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, attending sporting and school events. She loved her dogs, Cassie & Ginny, painted ceramics, tended to her flower and fruit tree gardens and was always trying to grow things in her “lasagna” garden. She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning and her favorite place to visit was Disney World, the “Happiest Place on Earth”.
Survivors include her husband, Billy, five children, Jeff Powers, John (Laurie) Powers, Jim Powers, Matt Powers & Amy (Rocky) Cameron, six grandchildren, Jacob (Sarah) Powers, Johnny, Brett & Maycee Powers and Renee & Amber Justice and her brother, Bob (Betty) Cruze.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Rev. Thomas McCain, associate pastor of Cook Rd. Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Harry O. Meadors, Jr. 72 of Springboro, Pa. died Tuesday (Nov. 1st) at his home. He was born March 20, 1939 in Greenville, Pa. the son of Harry O. and Margaret (Kieffer) Meadors, Sr..
He had worked at Erie Tool & Forge part time until February of the is year. For 40 years he worked as a Process and Project Engineer for the Plastics Industry.
He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, casino trips and spending time with his friends and family.
Surviving him are his wife Debra A. Meadors whom he married August 6, 1983; three sons, Greg (Mary) Adkins of Springboro, Pa., Douglas (Kristin) Adkins of Bushnell, Ohio and Harry O. (Jill) Meadors III of Ashtabula; a daughter, Michelle (Dan) Steinbeck of Cochranton, Pa.; thirteen grandchildren; a sister, Ruthanne Gorby and a brother, James F. Meadors. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Joyce and Margaret.
A memorial service will be Friday (Nov. 4th) at 7:00 PM at the Conneaut Valley Church of the Nazarene, 139 South Main St. Springboro, Pa. with Rev. Marshall Lillie officiating.

Gladys M. Allen

Gladys M. Allen, age 84, N. Olmsted, died Saturday afternoon at the Renaissance Health Center in Olmsted Falls where she had resided the past month.
She was born February 13, 1927 in Cleveland, the daughter of George H. & Loretta (Price) Engle. She grew up in Twinsburg and Dorset Twp. before moving to N. Olmsted after her marriage Howard M. Allen on July 17, 1954 at the Dorset Methodist Church. Mrs. Allen worked several years for the Veterans Administration, then was a secretary and retired from Bennett Builders after many years of employment. Mrs. Allen enjoyed sewing, crocheting and bird watching.
Survivors include two children, Joyce A. Allen of N. Olmsted and Robert M. (Lori) Allen of Lakewood, a grandson, Matthew R. Allen and two brothers, Robert & Edward Engle, both of Dorset Twp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard on 1/14/11 and two brothers, George & Harry Engle.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:30 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Alisa Nierzejewski, certified celebrant leading the service. Burial will be in Dorset Cemetery.
