Mary J. Hagler
WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS - Mary Jean Hagler, 68, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at University Hospital Bedford Medical Care Center, Bedford.
She was born May 25, 1934, in Lackawanna, N.Y., the daughter of George and Rener Hagler. She had lived in Cleveland and Geneva before moving to Warrensville Heights.
Miss Hagler was retired from the Cleveland Clinic after 31 years as a licensed practical nurse. She also worked at Metro General and St. Luke's hospitals in Cleveland
She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Painesville.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Hagler of Warrensville Heights; a granddaughter, Kymberly Hagler; two sisters, Betty Jean Hagler of Warrensville Heights, and Shirley Arrington of Toledo; and a brother, George Robert Hagler of Geneva-on-the-Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church, 361 W. Jackson St., Painesville. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.
Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 176 N. State St., Painesville, has charge of the arrangements.
Carol Ann Holy
HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP - Carol Ann Holy, 62, previously of Thompson Township, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at her home.
The daughter of Manuel O. and Anna C. (Carkling) Powell, she was born March 25, 1939. in Cleveland.
She married Joseph J. Holy on Jan. 31, 1956, in Indiana
Mrs. Holy was employed as an assembler at Madison Electric Products. She coached softball for Thompson Girls' League, and was involved with Ledgemont Wresting Association.
She enjoyed gardening, crafts and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Linda Welsh of Trumbull Township, Marla George of Chardon and Sherry Freeman of Austinburg Township; two sons, Joseph J. III of Trumbull Township and Jeffrey E. of Hambden Township; 12 grandchildren, Stacey, Russell J., Craig, Christopher, Brittany, Breana, Joseph IV, Scott, Joshua, Jeremy, Jeffrey Jr. and Alexandra; a sister, Barbara Tackett of Eastlake; and a brother, Charles of Seattle, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Edward.
Services is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Ross DeFelice, of Grace Baptist Church, officiating.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Thomas E. Remeika
WILLOWICK - Thomas E. Remeika, 48, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Remeika was born Jan. 6, 1952, in Geneva.
He received his engineering degree from Fenn College of Cleveland State University. He was employed with BP Oil as an electronics engineer.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie of Cleveland and Julie of Geneva; a son, Thomas of Geneva; his mother, Florence of Willowick; seven sisters, Joanne Myers, Karen Pavlosky, Betty Norton, Mary Nar, Kathy Gissonne, Terry McCamish and Florence; and two brothers, Joseph and Arthur Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur.
Service is 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 460 E. 321 St., Willowick. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
Calling time is 10 to 11:15 a.m. Monday at Jack Monreal Funeral Home, East 320th and Vine streets, Willowick.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
William H. Shaylor
MAYFIELD HEIGHTS - William H. Shaylor, 75, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at his home.
The son of Howard V. and Mary (Beidler) Shaylor, he was born July 27, 1925, in Ashtabula.
Mr. Shaylor was a member of Phi Kappa Tau at Baldwin Wallace and earned his masters from Kent State University.
He was a member of Legion Lake Golf Club where he had three hole-in-ones. He enjoyed tennis, baseball, football, golf, bowling and bridge.
He was a gardener who was especially proud of his more than 100 rose bushes. He enjoyed taking historical trips with his family.
A U.S. Navy veteran in World War II, he was employed in the education field for 42 years, working for the Mayfield Board of Education as a teacher, coach and administrator.
Survivors include his wife, Lois (Andre) of Mayfield Heights; two daughters, Karen A. of Sandusky and Donna S. Butin of Overland Park, Kansas; one son, Robert W.; and five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Melissa, Andrew and Betsy.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Noss; and his parents.
Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lyndhurst Community Presbyterian Church, 5312 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, with the Rev. Harry Eberts officiating. Burial will be private in Knollwood Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of South Euclid, 4600 Mayfield Road.

Robert B. Parker
YOUNGSTOWN - Robert B. Parker, 53, formerly of Middlefield, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
The son of Redmond and Jane (Echols) Parker, he was born April 7, 1947, in Youngstown.
Mr. Parker was employed as a lab technician at Johnson Rubber Co. in Middlefield for five years. He was a 1965 graduate of Cardinal High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1965 to 1968 in Turkey and in Japan. He enjoyed gardening and bird watching. He was a sports enthusiast, following the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers.
Survivors include his mother.
He was preceded in death by his father.
There will be no services.
Arrangements are being handled by Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield.
Eugene P. Battles
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - Eugene P. Battles, 80 died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Battles was born in Plymouth Township Dec. 11, 1919, the son of Frank E. and Myrtie (Fuller) Battles. He was a lifelong Plymouth Township resident.
He was employed by the former Rockwell Brake of Ashtabula for many years before retiring.
Mr. Battles was a member of the Prospect Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula, the Coin Club, the Historical Society, the Antique Engine Club, and he enjoyed helping out at the Blakeslee Log Cabin. He was also a Boy Scout Master and instrumental in starting the first Boy Scout troop in Plymouth Township.
His hobbies included raising Roller pigeons, woodworking, gardening, tractor restoration, building and fixing clocks, and refinishing furniture.
Mr. Battles is survived by his wife, the former Marion Topper, who he married on June 7, 1941 in Plymouth Township; three daughters, Marilyn J. Miller of Ashtabula, Judith A. Pinnow of Akron, and Janet E. Sharp of Ashtabula; one son, Lawrence E. Battles of Hilliard, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Terrill of Pierpont, and Mabel Brewer of Ashtabula; and one brother, Frank E. Battles of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Florence Tuttle.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the Prospect Presbyterian Church, 1342 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kevin Horrigan, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 today a the Childs-Williams Funeral Home, 1440 W. prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Prospect Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Justin M. Sundman
WEST VIRGINIA - Justin M. Sundman, age 10, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, in a drowning accident.
Born in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, November 13, 1992, he was the son of Roy L. Sundman and Victoria C. McDaniel.
Justin lived most of his life in Madison and had just finished the fourth grade.
He liked Harley Davidson motorcycles, singing and playing music, writing and books. He was a member of South Madison Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Parents, Victoria "Vickie" McDaniel, of Hiram, and Roy Sundman of Ashtabula; three brothers, Corey McDaniel and Damon Sundman, both of Hiram; R.J. Sundman of Geneva; Maternal grandparents, Joyce and Bob Ray of Geneva; Fred McDaniel of W.Va.; Paternal Grandparents, Leroy and Mary Lou Sundman of Ashtabula; Maternal Great-grandparents, Katherine Barnum of Euclid, Tom and Millie McDaniel of Eastlake; Grammaw Cindy and Pap of Madison; Aunts and uncles, Vic and Debbie Ricci of Mentor, Cindy McDaniel of Eastlake; Judy Kinkaid of Euclid; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kayla Marie Sundman; an Aunt, Michelle Lynn McDaniel; Maternal Great-grandmother, Leta Rose McDaniel, Great-grandfather, James Kinkaid, and an uncle, James Kinkaid, Jr.
Funeral will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, at the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman Street, Geneva, Ohio. The Rev. Donna VanTrees, of Saybrook United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Burial will be at Arcola Cemetery, Madison Twp., Ohio.
