BRISTOLVILLE - William George Balint, 55, of Thompson Clark Rd., Bristolville, died Sunday, June 15, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, at 3 p.m. at Shafer-Winans & Lamer Funeral Home, 164 N. High St., Cortland.
Visitation will also be held there on Friday, from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Effie J. Bragdon
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - Effie J. Bragdon, 95, of Rockwell Road, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Geneva.
She was born Dec. 18, 1906, in Cleveland, W.Va., the daughter of Thomas and Amanda M. (Anderson) Dever.
An area resident since 1942, Mrs. Bragdon was employed with Industrial Rayon in Painesville for 23 years. She retired in 1972.
She was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed weaving, wool spinning, knitting, crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include her son, Glenn Duffy of Geneva; five grandchildren, Louise, Wanda, Ronald, Sandra and Ruby; 10 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosa Claypool; her first husband, James Claypool, in 1954; and her second husband, Wilfred Bragdon, in 1979.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Vernon Palo, of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lottie O. Shadle
CHERRY VALLEY TOWNSHIP - Lottie O. Shadle, 93, of Hayes Road, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville, Pa.
She was born Sept. 7, 1908, in Wind Ridge, Pa., the daughter of Joseph F. and Emma L. (Parry) McCracken.
Formerly of Linesville, Mrs. Shadle had lived in Cherry Valley Township since 1941. She was a 1928 graduate of Richhill High School, Wind Ridge, Pa.
She married Richard T. Shadle on Aug. 14, 1930.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Mrs. Shadle was a member of the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dale and David W. of Cherry Valley Township, and Ken E. of Columbus; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary E. Staggers.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 29, 1997; six brothers; and three sisters.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, with the Rev. Gene Wilson, a member of the family, officiating. Interment will be in Cherry Valley Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Sidney Dripan
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Sidney Dripan, 90, formerly of Conneaut, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002.
Mr. Dripan was born April 3, 1911, in Borden, Saskatchewan, the son of William and Rose (Vdovochenko) Dripan.
He attended school in Conneaut and later worked for the Fork and Hoe Co. He moved to Cleveland in 1941.
Survivors include two daughters, Sydney Krampitz of Kansas and Phyllis O'Connell of Northfield; seven grandchildren; one brother, William of Atlanta, Ga.; and two nieces, Barbara Madonna and Carole Usher of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Edna I. (Clark); three brothers, Paul, Peter and Conrad; and his parents,
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Ducro Funeral Services at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 3137 E. Center Road, North Kingsville, is assisting with local arrangements.
Angeline D. Nappi
LOUISVILLE - Angeline D. Nappi, 85, of Louisville, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Aultman Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born April 16, 1916, in Isernia, Italy, the daughter of Cosmos and Michaline (DeLemme) DiBaggio.
She was a former cook and matron for the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department, and a member of Trinity Gospel Temple and the Canton Christian Fellowship in North Canton.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis McKean of Louisville; two sons, Gerald Nappi of Salinesville, and Anthony Nappi of New Port Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Edith Nappi and Helen Meyers; two brothers, Anthony DiBaggio and Albert DiBaggio; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nappi; and a brother, Albert DiBaggio.
Service is 2 p.m. Friday at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Jack Pancher, pastor of Canton Christian Fellowship, will officiate. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
Calling hour is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

John Thomson
OCALA, Fla. John "Jack" Thomson, 82, of On Top of the World, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Surrey Place.
He was born June 18, 1918, in Wishaw Lanarkshire, Scotland. He moved from Columbus in 1985 to Florida and previously lived in Ashtabula.
Mr. Thomson was a retired field representative for Lions Club International of Ohio. He was the organizer and charter member of On Top of the World Lions Club. He served as secretary/treasurer of the OTOW Lions Club and was the owner and operator of Garner Furniture Co. in Ashtabula for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Leslie; a daughter, Peggy Nieman of Loveland; two sons, John "Jack" Thomson III of Ashtabula, and David Neil Thomson of Auburn, Ala.; a sister, Grace Burnett of Youngstown; a brother, Thomas Thomson of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held April 12 at Ocala West Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Hanna officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula, at the convenience of the family.

Margaret C. Brown
BETHESDA, Md. - Margaret C. Brown, 92, died Monday, April 2, 2001.
Mrs. Brown was born April 7, 1908, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Maud Hills and Oren Reno Cleveland.
She worked as a librarian in Warren and New York City.
She married Eugene J. Brown of Warren in 1935 and went to Oneonta, N.Y. in 1945 when Mr. Brown became the general manager of the Oneonta Star newspaper. She moved to Danbury, Conn. in 1955 when Mr. Brown became the publisher of the Danbury News-Times.
After her husband's death in 1990, Mrs. Brown moved to Bethseda, Md.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan C. Brown of Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren, Senem, Jonathan, Katherine, and Lucinda.
