Shirley L. Jones
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - Shirley L. Jones, 73, of Mills Road, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at the Country Club Retirement Center, Ashtabula.
She was born April 27, 1927, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Alfred and Hilda (Toppari) Svedberg, and was a lifelong area resident.
She worked more than 30 years at Peoples Saving and Loan Company in Ashtabula as the company's secretary and chief loan officer.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashtabula; the Army-Navy Union Ladies Auxiliary; American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; and had been active in Rainbow Girls.
She enjoyed gardening, singing, fishing, her dogs and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Owen, whom she married April 27, 1946; a daughter, Nancy Whitmire of Ashtabula; a brother, Luzerne DeGroodt of Hot Springs, Ark.; two grandchildren, Ryan Whitmire and Tara Severino; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bobby; and a sister, Betty.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. Friday at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grove Drive, Ashtabula Township, with the Rev. Virgil Reeve, of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, which is in charge of arrangements.
Caitlin Nicole Marie Sheldon
CLEVELAND - Caitlin Nicole Marie Sheldon, two day old infant daughter of Darrin Sheldon and Michelle Withrow, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at UHHS Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
Besides her parents of Ashtabula, her survivors include two sisters, Destiny Withrow, and Summer Withrow, and two brothers, Vincent Withrow, and Joseph Marquez, all of Ashtabula; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Linda Mosher of Ashtabula; paternal grandparents, Harold and Annette Sheldon of Austinburg; paternal grandmother, Joan Sheldon of Austinburg; and paternal great-grandparents, Walter and Dorothy Metcalf of Kirtland.
She was preceded in death by paternal great grandparents, Harold and Edna Sheldon; and maternal great grandparents, Clarence and Gladys Tilton.
A private family service will be held Monday, July 21, 2003, at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Austinburg.
Elsie O. Gibson Utt
MARIETTA, OH - Elsie O. Gibson Utt, 96, of Harmer Place Nursing Home in Marietta, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in Harmer Place Nursing Home.
Born on July 4, 1906, in Braxton County, WV, the daughter of George D. and Birdie Coo Brown Gibson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in Geneva.
Survivors include two sons, Ira M. Utt of Charleston, WV, and Brice Utt of Columbus; four daughters, Nealie Coo Dettrey of Philadelphia, PA, Freda May McGee of Sulpher, LA, Shirley Webster of Philippi, WV, and Mona Kolshorn of Marietta; two sisters, Nellie Fisher of Woodstock, GA, and Arretta Robinson of Warren; 48 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Carson Utt, Rosetta Lower, and Patricia Lois Williams; three brothers; and one sister.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2003, at the Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel, Route 6, Box 429, Buckhannon, WV 26201, with Rev. Junior B. Harris officiating. Interment will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery at Replete, WV.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 20, 2003, at the Funeral Chapel. TOMBLYN-WHITESCARVER FUNERAL CHAPEL OF BUCKHANNON is in Charge of the Arrangements.
Molly K. Perry
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Molly K. Perry, 77, of Route 7, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at her home following a year-long illness.
Mrs. Perry was born May 24, 1925 in Logan, W.Va., the daughter of Walter L. and Lottie May (Wray) Roach and had been a Monroe resident for the past 14 years.
She resided in Cleveland for many years before moving to the area. While in Cleveland, she was employed by Brush's Inc., later she was employed at Channel Products in Jefferson.
Mrs. Perry enjoyed traveling and gardening, especially raising vegetables and flowers.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathryn Meadows of Monroe Township, Beverly Horton of Willowick, Judith McAvoy of Pierpont and Angela Smith of Monroe Township; four sons, John of Lake Line, Donald of Monroe Township, Michael of Cleveland and David of Monroe Township; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Perry in 1969; two sisters, Delta E. Hochar and Margret Brumfield; and five brothers, Walter, Lawrence, James, Ray and Chester Roach.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond L. Lamb, pastor of the Church of God officiating.
Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Cleveland.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Clifford J. Hogle
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Clifford J. Hogle, 91, of Monroe Center Road died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in UHHS-Brown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hogle was born in Conneaut on Nov. 29, 1910, the son of the Jay B. and Zella Hogle.
He had lived in the Monroe Township and Conneaut areas his entire life.
He spent most of his life farming and also had worked at Electromet in Ashtabula for several years. He raised draft horses and spent many years in the woods logging with them.
Surviving are his two sisters, Dorothy Bennett and Marjorie Anderson, both of Monroe Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elizabeth Aiken; four brothers, Lloyd, Walter, Carl and Paul Hogle; and his longtime friend and companion, Dorothy Anderson.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Roger P. Hogle, pastor of South Ridge Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial is in Kelloggsville Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Judith C. Johnson
WINTERSVILLE - Judith Colleen Johnson, 63, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at West Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Bloomingdale, the daughter of Charles Samuel and Harriett Agnes (Dunlap) Cline.
She enjoyed picture and book puzzles, sewing, crocheting, cooking and especially enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her four daughters, Judith Colleen Crites of Stockport, Brenda Lee Johnson of Franklinton, N.C., Anita Louise Knight of Wake Forest, N.C., and Norma Renee Dover of Mooresboro, N.C.; three sons, Donald F. Johnson Jr. of Greene, Kevin J. Johnson of Wintersville and William R. Johnson of Rock Creek; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Shirley Hayes and Gloria Davis, both of Wintersville, Rebecca Viara of Los Angeles, Calif., Audrey Mader of Hopedale, Nancy Ferrell of Columbus and Sandra Ferrell of Malta; and a brother, David Cline of Annapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F., on Dec. 4, 1981.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, with the Rev. David E. Ferrell of the Calvary Apostolic Church officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Gardens in Jewett.

Orville B. Mix
MIDDLEBURG, Fla. - Orville B. Mix Jr., 68, of Middleburg, Fla., died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Orange Park Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Mix was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Erie Pa., the son of Orville B. Mix and Armellia (Bateman) Hogle.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force and was employed as a sheet metal mechanic at Mayport and Jacksonville, Fla., shipyards.
Mr. Mix had been a Florida resident for more than 30 years, and attended Clay Hill Baptist Church.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 250 in Middleburg.
Prior to his illness, he spent time fishing and hunting, but especially enjoyed cooking at family gatherings. Mr. Mix was also a great admirer of the Florida "Gators."
Survivors include four daughters, Lisa Elder, Lori Mix and Kathy Manning all of Middleburg, Fla.; and Tammy Mix of Warren, Pa., two sisters, Wilma Smock of Conneautville, Pa., and Millie Piper of Old Town, Md.; a brother, Thomas Mix of Conneaut; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Nancy in 1994.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Dr. Roger P. Hogle of South Ridge Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery.
