Rita S. Brainard
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Former Kinsman resident Rita S. Brainard, 90, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Md.
She was born June 30, 1911, in Lenox Township, and had lived in the Annapolis area for 10 years.
She received a bachelor's degree from Kent State University, and took additional classes at Youngstown State University.
She was a teacher at school districts in Trumbull and Ashtabula counties, retiring in 1976.
She was a lifelong member of Kinsman United Methodist Church ; was past matron in the Order of Eastern Star; and a member of the Annapolis Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
Survivors include a son, Jerry of Annapolis; a brother, Elmer Davis of Colorado; a sister, Marie Wilson of Mexico; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1986.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsman United Methodist Church, 8362 Main St., Kinsman.
The John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, Md., has charge of the arrangements.

Christina L. Creek
EUCLID - Christina L. Creek, 56, died Monday, May 20, 2002, in Euclid.
She was born June 26, 1945, in Geneva, the daughter of Stanley and Genevieve (Krochmal) Kozub, and had been a Euclid resident for the past nine years, coming from Mentor.
She was entertainment coordinator for Lets Entertaining, and was a Red Cross volunteer.
Survivors include her father; a daughter, Megan P. Frient of Mayfield Heights; a son, Brian P. of Lakewood; a brother, Robert Kozub of Vermont; and two sisters, Monica Ols of Ohio, and Janet Perdue of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, Diana Cooney.
Tribute service is 10 a.m. Saturday at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home, 28890 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills., with the Rev. Michael Currier officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, 3601 S. Green Road, No. 100, Cleveland 44122

Kathryn H. Onion
LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Kathryn H. Onion, 54, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2002, in Lake Worth.
She was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Ashtabula, the daughter of John and Lucille (Marini) Bishop.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond W., whom she married on Aug. 16, 1978; her parents; two sons, James and Timothy; two sisters, Nanette Eckard and Johna Whitesell, all of Lake Worth, Fla.; and a brother, Raymond Bishop of Savannah, Ga.
A memorial service was held in Lake Worth, Fla., at the convenience of the family.
The Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, was in charge of local arrangements.

Iola R. Hall
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS - Iola R. Hall, 79, of Route 46 South, Lenox Township, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at Cedar Wood Plaza Nursing Home in Cleveland Heights where she had been a resident for the past year.
She was born June 17, 1921, in Roba, Ala., the daughter of Nathaniel and Martha (Moore) Flennor and has been a resident of the Jefferson area since 1959, coming from Cleveland.
Mrs. Hall was employed for several years for General Motors Corp. and for American Greetings, both in Cleveland. She was married to John R. Hall May 23, 1951 in Cleveland.
She attended Lenox Federated Church and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include two stepsons, Nate J. Hall of Ashtabula and Eugene W. Hall of Cleveland, a son, Kenneth E. Weathers Sr. of Aberdeen, Md., three grandchildren, Kimberly Newberry, Kathleen Hall and Kenneth Weathers Jr.; a brother, Edgar J. Moore of Lansing, Mich.; and a sister, Sedall Moore of Union Spring, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 1978; three brothers, James Chambliss, J. L. Moore and Johnny Moore; and a sister, Hattie Moore.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Lenox Center Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Neumann officiating. There will be no calling hours.
The Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.

Jackie Earl Leach
LAKESIDE - Jackie Earl Leach, 65, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000.
Mr. Leach was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Newburn, Dyer County, Tenn.
He was employed as a plant manager at Pargas, and was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Leach; two daughters: Lynn Abel and Mitzi Lawson of Anaheim, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Kristen Farley of Kensington, Calif.; two stepsons, Daniel Culp of Poway, Calif. and Eric Farley of La Mesa, Calif.; three sisters, Doris McManis of Clarksville, Tenn., Paulette Sewell of Dyer, Tenn., and Sandra Gurley of Paris, Tenn.; one brother, Jimmy Wayne of Tatumville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Paris­-Frederick Mortuary, 374 North Magnolia Ave., El Cajon, Calif. 92020.
Calling hours will not be observed.

Linda Hope Howe
NEWARK ­ Linda Hope Howe, 61, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at Hospice of Central Ohio.
She was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., the daughter of James Russell Lind and Edna "Dorothy" (Hope) Lind.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Roger L. Howe; two sons: Jon D. of Newark and Gregory W. of St. Augustine, Fla.; three brothers: James K., David J. and Thomas R. Lind, all of Ashtabula; and a sister, Jennifer A. Lautanen of Ashtabula; and two grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date. No calling hours will be observed.

George E. Hoffman
MEDINA - George E. Hoffman, 70, died Saturday, March 22, 2003. He was born Aug. 19, 1932, in Cleveland, the son of Clarence E. and Beatrice G. (Jenkins) Hoffman.
He was a mechanical engineer for the former Electric Illuminating Co. in Cleveland, retiring after 36 years.
He married Marilyn (Schroeder) Hoffman on Sept. 11, 1954, in Garfield Heights.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hoffman graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Master's of Business Administration and a degree in engineering. He was also a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
He enjoyed golf, bowling and playing with CEI leagues for many years.
He enjoyed collecting pattern glass and had an extensive collection before moving to Medina.
Survivors include his wife, of Medina; a daughter, Cheryl Keller of Hagerstown, Md.; two sons, Bruce Hoffman of Lisle, Ill., and Brian Hoffman of Bright, Ind.; and a grandson, Mitchell L. Hoffman of Bright, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The Rev. Henry Woodruff, pastor of the Chardon United Methodist Church, in Chardon, will officiate.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Fowlers Mill Cemetery in Munson Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
