Clara Luce
GOSHEN, IND. - Clara Luce, 61, died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Americare Living Center, Goshen, Ind.
She was born June 3, 1941, in Troy, the daughter of Edward J. and Mary Ann (Troyer) Schmucker.
A former Orwell resident, she worked at Decorators Industries in the sewing department.
Survivors include two sons, David Merryman of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Scott L. Harman of Goshen, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher L. Sommer, on May 10, 2000; and two sisters, Anna and Ada Miller.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, Ind., with the Rev. Omer Nisley officiating. Burial will be at Violett Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mildred E. Kubin
MONROE TOWNSHIP - Mildred E. Kubin, 86, of Horton Road, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at her home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Conneaut, to Mathew and Mary (Poruban) Harco. She lived most of her life in Cleveland and moved back to Conneaut four years ago.
Mrs. Kubin was a member of the Gethesemy Lutheran Church of Cleveland and also attended the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Conneaut. She assisted the Covered Girls Quilting Group at the church and was also a member of the Four City Rose Society of Cleveland.
She was devoted to her family and loved raising roses.
Survivors include nieces Shirley and Margaret Harco, both of Monroe Township, and nephew Michael Harco of Monroe Township.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, and brothers Edward, John and Clarence Harco.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Thompson Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, officiated by the Rev. George Pohlod, pastor emeritus. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to the Covered Girls Quilting Group. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Paula Pustotnik
HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP - Paula Pustotnik, 90, died Sunday, Jan, 27, 2002, at her home.
She was born May 30, 1911, in Dolsko, Slovenia. She was a longtime Harpersfield resident.
Mrs. Pustotnik was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed gardening and knitting.
Survivors include son Emil Pustotnik of Harpersfield; daughter Pauline Coker of Westminster, Md.; grandchildren Paul and Christina Pustotnik and Kristine and John Coker; and two sisters in Yugoslavia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Pustotnik and son Francis Pustotnik.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, officiated by the Rev. Luigi Miola. Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison.
Mary A. Wintz
DENMARK TOWNSHIP - Mary A. Wintz, 63, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at her Netcher Road residence three years after being diagnosed with cancer.
She was born July 5, 1938, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Floyd Wallace and Aune (Merilla) Anthony. A lifelong resident of Jefferson, Mrs. Wintz was a 1957 graduate of Jefferson High School and worked for eight years at the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau.
She married Richard Wintz Oct. 21, 1961, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She retired last year from the Jefferson Area Local School System after 19 years of service.
Mrs. Wintz was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was active with L.Y.O., the Lutheran Women of the Church, the Piecemaker's Group and taught Sunday school. She volunteered with the Manna Food Pantry and loved to bake for people, do jigsaw puzzles, sew, do gardening, and always loved doing for others and loving her family.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; one daughter, Pamela C. Wintz of Ravenna; one son, Mark P. Wintz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and a brother, James A. Anthony of Jefferson.
Mrs. Wintz was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Jane Anthony.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 89 E. Satin St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fred A. Grimm officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. The Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is handling arrangements.

Cheryl Marie Simlick
YOUNGSTOWN - Cheryl Marie Simlick, born on Sunday, July 27, 2003, died early Monday morning, July 28, 2003, in Youngstown, at St. Elizabeth's.
She is survived by her mother, Pauline Reynolds, formerly of Conneaut, and her father, Edward Jon Simlick of Lake City, PA; a sister, April Elaine Simlick; grandparents, Emma and Ronald Keith of Lake City, PA, Patrick and Donna Reynolds of Salem, OH, Karen Greenfield and Timothy Fields of Conneaut, and Barbara and Robert Beatman of Conneaut.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Thomas (Tim) Simlick.
Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. (noon), Friday, August 1, 2003, at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, OH 44030, with Rev. Raymond Lamb of the Church of God, officiating.
Calling Hour will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. (noon).
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with burial expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed.
Frank S. Gogul
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Frank S. Gogul, 77, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville.
Mr. Gogul was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Wheeling, W.Va., the son of John and Frances Ciempel Gogul.
He retired in 1981 from Weirton Steel, where he was a pit foreman. During his years there, he was a member of the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club and the company's management club.
Earlier, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Afterward, he was a member of the World War II Submarine Veterans, Three Rivers Chapter, and the U.S. Submarine Veterans Steel Valley Dolphins.
Mr. Gogul also was a member of Holy Name Cathedral and the American Legion Post 33 in Steubenville.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Schmitt Gogul, whom he married June 28, 1952; a son, Greg of Gilbert, Ariz.; two daughters, Deanna Olson of Upland, Calif., and Stephanie Gogul of Janesville, Wis.; two brothers, Walter of Steubenville and Leo of Ashtabula; and five grandchildren, Marc Olson, Danny and Hallie Mosblack, and Gregory and Grant Gogul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Stan and Joe; and two infant granddaughters, Maureen and Christine Mosblack.
Funeral Mass and liturgy are 11 a.m. today at Holy Name Cathedral, Steubenville.
Vigil services were Sunday, with arrangements by the Mosti Funeral Home, Steubenville.
Burial is in Coronation Mausoleum, Mount Calvary.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arthur N. Saulino
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - Arthur N. Saulino, 85, of Raymont Avenue, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Mr. Saulino was born June 28, 1917, in Youngstown, the son of Roger O. and Jeanette (Fabrizio) Saulino. He married Mary Rose Stematz on Aug. 16, 1947.
A 1935 graduate of Rayen High School in Youngstown, he was a World War II Army Air Force veteran, serving in the North African campaign.
In 1949, he graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in industrial engineering. He then was employed as an industrial engineer in quality control at Forest City Foundries, retiring after 19 years.
Survivors include his two daughters, Margaret Benic of Richmond Heights and Marie Saulino-Lew of Youngstown; a son, Arthur F. of Ashtabula; two sisters, Linda Orsinelli of Warren and Gina Saulino of Youngstown; a granddaughter, Anjanette Lew of Parma; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger J.; and his wife on April 17, 1989.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
