David W. Hawley, 75 of Highland Ave. Saybrook Twp died Sunday (Oct 2nd) at his home. He was born October 4, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Dudley A. and Agnes W. (Washburn) Hawley.
He was a graduate of Proctor Academy and he also graduated from Nichols College.
He is a member of the Harvest International Church where he served as an usher. He volunteered at the Ashtabula Dream Center in Ashtabula.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family, going to the Outer Banks and he especially enjoyed visiting his grandsons, Christopher and Jordan in Phoenix and he loved Ohio sports. Funeral service will be Saturday (Oct. 8th) at 1:00 PM at the Harvest International Church, Route #45 in Saybrook Twp with Rev. Duane Ball officiating.
Calling hour will be Saturday from 12:00 Pm until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Ashtabula Dream Center. 604 West 57th St. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

Linda J. Brenkus, 68 of Walnut St. Jefferson died Tuesday (Oct. 4th) at the Erie VA Medical Center in Erie, Pa. She was born August 5, 1943 in Painesville, Ohio the daughter of Louis and Jessie (Frambach) Brown and has been a lifetime area resident.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and served in the Women’s Army Corp during the Vietnam Era where she received a Letter of Commendation.
She had been employed for 14 years with the GE Plant in Jefferson until it closing in 1984. She then took a course at the Ashtabula Branch of Kent State University and received her Real Estate license. In the last view years she enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels.
Surviving her is her son, Kurt J. (Karen) Brenkus of Thompson; a daughter, Kelly Munnings of West Virginia; five grandchildren, Darryl, Kassandra, Samuel, Jacob and Garrett; four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Addison, Allison and Summer; two brothers, Larry (Sandy) Brown of Texas, and Steven Brown of Jefferson and three sisters, Rebecca Brown of Jefferson, Melissa (Jeff) Sandella of Colorado and Nancy (Andy) Carle of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Ronald Brown in Vietnam.
Funeral service will be Friday (Oct. 7th) at 11:00 AM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 West Jefferson St. Jefferson with Theodore Hill officiating. Burial will be in Lenox Center Cemetery with Geneva VFW Post #6846 conducting military rites.
Calling hour will be Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Hospice Floor of the Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38th St. Erie, Pa. 16504.
Nancy A. Redmond

Nancy A. Redmond, age 37, Turner Rd., Pierpont Twp., died early Friday morning at the Geneva Village Nursing Home following an extended illness with cancer.
She was born February 7, 1974 in Erie, PA, the daughter of James A. & Nancy K. (Souers) Bentley and has resided in this area all of her life. Nancy was a 1993 graduate of Grand Valley High School and was employed for several years with Kraftmaid Cabinetry in Middlefield and most recently was a nurse’s assistant at the Jefferson Healthcare Center.
Nancy enjoyed shopping and the joy of her life was her children.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew P. Redmond, whom she married on July 29, 1995 in Andover, to children, Jordan Matthew & Jocelyn Nichole Redmond, her parents, Jim & Nancy Bentley of Roaming Shores, a sister, Faye L. (John) Bates of Roaming Shores and her mother & father-in-law, Renee Hanson of Geneva & Paul Redmond of Harpersfield Twp.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald & Julia Souers & Harry & Gertrude Bentley.
Private services will be held in Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Vernon Palo of the Andover First United Methodist Church officiating. No calling hours will be observed.

Lucile M. Johnson, 92, formerly of Crawford Rd., Saybrook Twp. died Tuesday (Sept. 20th) at Silver Sands in Ashtabula. She was born February 3, 1919 in Madison, Ohio the daughter of Earl and Florence (Harrington) Beebe.
She was a graduate of Madison High School and attended Fenn Business School in Cleveland.
She had worked the Polls for the Election Board in Saybrook for a number of years. She is a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and the Day Timers of the church.
She was a people person and enjoyed entertaining at her home. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, travel and most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving her are two sons, Ronald E. (Debbie) Johnson of Spokane Valley, Washington and Larry S. (Louise) Johnson of Ashtabula; a daughter, Karen L. (Mark) V’Soske of Whitehouse, Ohio; six grandchildren, Bret, Melissa, Kevin, Jeff Johnson, Erika Brock and Devon V’Soske and a sister, Virginia Cartner of Madison, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald in 1993; and by a brother, Norman Beebe.
Funeral service will be Friday (Sept. 23rd) at 11:00 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Michael Meranda officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Township Cemetery.

Audra Henson

Audra Henson, age 70, N. Bend Rd., Saybrook Twp., died Wednesday afternoon at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born December 17, 1940 in McDowell, KY, the son of Jeff & Elizabeth (Osborne) Henson and has been a resident of Ashtabula since 1959, coming from Kentucky. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines. Mr. Henson married Patricia L. Mauro on January 19, 1963 in Ashtabula.
Mr. Henson is a retired employee of Molded Fiberglass and formerly worked at Ashtabula Bow Socket. He was a member of the VFW Post #943, American Legion Post #103 and the Army-Navy Union.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, three children, Craig A. (Robin) Henson and Dawn M. (Kenny) Knapp, both of Ashtabula and Timothy J. Henson of Columbus, four grandchildren, Chad Henson and Ashley, Emily & Olivia Knapp and two sisters and two brothers, Patsy Celletti, Pam Schaffer, Jeff Dean Henson & Sandy Henson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Alma Caudill and a brother, John Henson.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 A. M. at the Ashtabula Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Thomas of St. Joseph Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens where American Legion Post #103 will provide military honors.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 P. M. at the funeral home.

Pauline F. Eastlick, age 80, Oak St., Jefferson, died Tuesday afternoon at her residence.
She was born July 17, 1931 in Gallipolis, the daughter of Garfield & Susie (Hoppes) Blazer and has lived in the Ashtabula/Jefferson area since 1950, coming from Gallipolis. Mrs. Eastlick did crocheting, collected dolls and enjoyed being with family, especially grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons, Jerry (Frances) Jeffers, Thomas(Darla) Jeffers & Martin (Colleen) Jeffers, all of Ashtabula, Paul David (Mary) Jeffers & James Jeffers, both of Jefferson, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arnie Eastlick, four brothers, Delbert, Howard, Garfield & Morse Blazer and three sisters, Susie Campbell, Bea Gray & Frieda McGuire.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10 – 11 A. M. at the Ashtabula Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with graveside services to follow at 11:30 A. Olive A. Treen

Olive A. Treen, age 96, former Jefferson area resident and a resident at Saybrook Landing the past year, died there on Tuesday morning with family by her side.
She was born January 3, 1915 in Ashtabula Twp., the daughter of Syrus M. & Agnes L. (Knapp) Beebe and has lived in this area all of her life. She was a 1933 graduate of Ashtabula High School and was married to Richard J. Treen on June 8, 1934.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson where she served as a Deaconess for 13 years and helped prepare communion. She was a 20 year member of the Jefferson Exchangettes and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by four children, Shirley D. (Cliff) Johnson of Flippin, AR, Damaris K. (Ronald) Mollick of Ashtabula, Bryan R. (Susan) Treen of Jefferson and Janice L. (Charles) Kennedy of Cincinnati, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard in 1998, brothers, Chauncey & Theodore Beebe and a sister, Alice Emery.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Jerry Bentley officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11 A. M. at the church.
