Lola M. Metzler, age 90, E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, died Saturday afternoon at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.
She was born July 5, 1922 in Cherry Valley Twp., the daughter of John G. & Ella (Burns) Hayslett and has resided in Ashtabula Co. all of her life. She was a graduate of New Lyme Deming School. Lola was married to Lawrence A. Metzler on July 15, 1959 in Winchester, VA.
Mrs. Metzler’s early career included work at General Electric in Jefferson and was a sales associate at Carlisle-Allen Dept. Store and later worked the family farm, being instrumental in beekeeping and bottling the honey.
She was a 60 year member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, a 55 year plus member of the Jefferson Grange, the Jefferson Sunshine Chapter & Conneaut Rose Chapter Order of Eastern Star, where she served different times as Worthy Matron and Galilee Shrine #11.
She enjoyed baking and was a talented cake decorator and enjoyed crafts and ceramics. She is survived by a son, Lee A. Metzler of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence in 2011, three brothers, Lawrence, Roy & Lewis Hayslett and four sisters, Clara Hedrick, Grace Morford, Nellie VanWinkle & Mae Stainfield.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10;30 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Meredith Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Dorset Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-7:30 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson.
Patricia Ann Boylen
June 16, 1933 - August 26, 2012

Patricia Ann Boylen, age 79, resident of W. Beech St. in Jefferson with her loving granddaughter and caregiver, Ann Boylen, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2012.
She was born June 16, 1933 in Philippi, WV, the daughter of Earl & Molly Mathew.
Survivors include five children, Earl (Chris) Boylen of Youngstown, Sharra (Ronnie) Leonard of Cape Coral, FL, Molly (John) Griffith of Madison, William Boylen of Youngstown & Penny Boylen (George) of Ashtabula, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, Butch Mathew of West Virginia.
Her parents, her brothers, Bill, Carl & Dick and a sister, Betty, all preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed but forever be in our hearts.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:30 P. M. at God’s Tabernacle Church, Geneva (corner Rt. 20 & County Line Rd.). Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, in care of Ann Boylen, 209 W. Beech St., Apt. 3, Jefferson, OH 44047. Terry D. Thompson
August 14, 1955 - August 22, 2012
Terry D. Thompson, 57 of East 40th St. died Wednesday (August 22nd) at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born August 14, 1955 in Ashtabula the son of Lynn E. and Betty I. (Lillis) Thompson and has been a lifetime area resident.
He was a 1973 graduate of Edgewood High School and received an Associated Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ashtabula Branch of Kent State University. He had worked for Reliance Electric and for K Mart in Ashtabula.
He enjoyed playing the guitar; collecting Beach Glass; Astronomy; reading and he loved going to Walnut Beach and Lakeshore Park.
Surviving him are his wife, Terri (Emery) Thompson whom he married December 20, 1980; two sons, Jason (Kaylie) Thompson of Conneaut and Justin Thompson a student at Toledo Univerity; a granddaughter, Scarlette; a sister, Lynne Gollon of Ashtabula and a brother, Donald (Elissa) Thompson of Northwood, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Douglas Thompson.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the family
Viva Ruth Risley

Viva Ruth Risley, 91 of East 26th St., Ashtabula died unexpectly Tuesday (Nov. 4th) at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born March 23, 1923 in Ashtabula the daughter of Alton H. and Irma (Hacker) Wood and has been a lifetime area resident.
She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1941 and attended Kent State University. She married William C. Risley on June 8, 1948.
She is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a former member of Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher; deacon, Elder, President of the Women’s Association for two years and the Golden Circle. She sang in the adult choir and directed the junior choir for 25 years. She served as president of the PTA at Ridgeview Elementary for two years; she was a den mother, Girl Scout Leader for 5 years; a Gray Lady at Ashtabula Hospital and a poll worked for the Board of Elections
. She loved to read, sing and dance and especially loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved going to school events, swim meets, recitals and ball games.
Surviving her is her son, William D. (Janiene) Risley of Vendalla, Ohio; a daughter, Janet L. (Patrick Smullen) Coy of Ashtabula; six grandchildren, William D. Risley II, Kendra Kelley, Kelly Patti, Derek Rothwell, Scott Rothwell and Mark Rothwell; seven great grandchildren, Tawni, Michele, Mackenzie, Elise, Addison, Kaitlyn and Kyle and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband in 1997.
Funeral service will be Friday (Nov. 7th) at 3:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Pastor Kenneth Ayers of the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church officiating.
Calling hour will be Friday from 2:00 Pm until the time of service at the funeral home. The Fleming & Billman Funeral Homes are honored to serve the Viva Ruth Risley family.

Andra R. Connolly, 78 of Sebring, Florida and former Ashtabula resident died Thursday (Oct. 30th) at the Palms of Sebring in Sebring, Florida. She was born October 6, 1936 in Geneva, Ohio the daughter of Andrew and Ruth M. (Woodworth) Livingston.
She was a member of the former Harbor United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, travel and roller skating.
Surviving her are two children, Lorie J. Young of Sebring, Florida and Robert F. Connolly, Jr of Ashtabula; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister, Darla Livingston of Ashtabula. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert F. Connolly, Sr in 2005.
Funeral service will be Friday (Nov. 7th) at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Jeff Stoll of the Saybrook United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, Ohio.

Anna Belle Goff

Anna Belle Goff, 83 of Garfield St., Geneva died Monday (Oct. 27th) at her home. She was born December 12, 1930 in Geneva the daughter of Henry Ellis and Florence Lucille (Libert) Coy and has been a lifetime area resident.
She had worked for over 34 years with Geneva Rubber until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and walking but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving her are her four daughters, Gail Bogue of Geneva, Vanessa (Dean) Katona of Columbus, Amy (Serge) Grenier of Geneva and Lynda Tersigni of Geneva –on-the-Lake; eleven grandchildren; nine Great grandchildren, a brother, Kenneth Coy of Geneva and four sisters, Edith Coy, Betty Bowser, Hazel Coy and Alta Coy all of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Perry Coy, David Coy and Robert Libert and two sisters, Gertrude Coy in infancy and Jane Goff.
A memorial service will be Thursday (Oct.30th) at 11:00 AM at the Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 323 South Broadway, Geneva with Pastor John Munday of the Park Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva at a later date.
