Connie F. Franklin, 53
Connie F. Franklin, age 53 passed away on Sunday September 6, 2020 at Aultman Hospital.
She was born October 1, 1966 to the late Raymond Adams and Lettie B. (Wilson) Adams. She will be remembered by her friends and family as being a jokester, being adventurous, her love for shopping, and that she enjoyed cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved her time with her grandbabies. She is survived by Daughter: Shaquala Snodgrass (Paul Ross ). Sons; Robert Snodgrass III, and DeRon (Stefani) Snodgrass, Bobby (Ashley) Bailey, Step - Children: Jamie ( Mike ) Robertson, Markeda (Kevin) Dawkins, Sisters; Shirley (Bernard) McElroy, Linda (Albert McGee) Dixon, Dottie (Samuel) Midgette, Gloria Witherspoon, Edna (Robert) Nickson . Brothers; LC Adams, MC Dixon, James, Jimmy, and Leo Harris. Grand - Children; Da' Veon, SaMara, DeRon Jr. and Steph'on Snodgrass. Special Friends: Tina Hancock, Denise Carter, along with a host of Nieces and Nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her Siblings; Claudine, Lilly B. and Robert Harris. Visitation will take place at Dean's Funeral Home Tuesday September 15 from 12pm to 1pm,. Funeral service to follow at 1pm with Pastor Bobby Williams officiating.

Robert 'Bob' D. Thomas, 76
SALEM - Robert 'Bob' D. Thomas, 76, passed peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center. Bob was born September 14, 1943 in Salem, Ohio, son of the late Russell and Marie (Lesch) Thomas. Robert was a 1961 graduate of Salem High School.
He was a truck driver, retiring from Roadway. Robert attended the Church of God, was a member of Perry Lodge, F&AM Masonic Lodge, TEAMSTERS Locals 77 and 392, and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite in Youngstown. In his lifetime, he had driven over four million miles. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and seeing his second family at Adele's or as he called it 'The Restaurant'. His wife, Ruth A. (Coy) Thomas whom he married February 22, 1963 preceded him in death December 2012.
Survivors include two sons, Mark (Laurie) Thomas of Vail, AZ and Scott Thomas of Salem; three grandchildren, Jason, Jacob and Luke Thomas; sister, Roberta Blankenship of Columbiana and brother, David (Helen) Thomas of Cincinnati. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Stark Memorial with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. with a Masonic service at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. For the safety of the Thomas family and visitors, please adhere to social distancing, and bring your own mask. A private burial will be held at Woodsdale Cemetery in Hanoverton.
Virginia Ann Mindling, 78
Virginia Ann Mindling, 78, passed away on September 4, 2020 after a brief illness at Aultman Hospital. Virginia was born August 16, 1942 to Walter Val Comanitz and Aurelia Jhona. She graduated in 1960 from Washington High School, Massillon. Virginia took the role of being a devoted mother. She gained two sons, Kyle and Brett Mindling when she married Fred Mindling on December 28, 1975. Her interests included spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Her forgiving nature, orneriness, and gentle spirit were just a few of the qualities she is remembered for. Virginia is survived by her life partner, Richard Acker; Her son, Walter Mindling and daughter-in-law, Melody Dillon of Alliance. She leaves three granddaughters: Randi [JP Pilla], Lauren [Ali Al - Ali], and Anna Dillon, along with her great-grandson, Jack Pilla. She adored her daughter, Angela Weidenhamer of Santa Rosa, California. She is also survived by her siblings, Walter Comanitz of Sebring and Betty Johnson of Massillon. Other family members she is survived by include her niece, Rebecca Johnson and nephew Matthew Johnson. Burial will take place on Monday, September 14, 2020 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alliance, Ohio. Services are by Dean's Funeral Home. Sebring, Ohio.
Kristina Schaaf, 64
Kristina Schaaf, 64, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on September 11th 2020 in Canton Ohio. Kristina was born in Wittier California to John Thomas Schaaf and Josephine Burke - Schaaf - Prevost on February 2nd 1956. She went to school at Immaculate Heart of Mary and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High school. She worked at The University of Akron IT help desk with many proud years of exemplary service. She had fond memories of being a Cuyahoga Falls Tigers cheerleader in her youth and was involved with multiple hobbies, including antique collecting, stained glass making and multiple types of crafts throughout the years. Kristina was preceded in death by John Thomas Schaaf Sr., Michael Schaaf, John Thomas Schaaf Jr., Robert Schaaf and Josephine Prevost (Alfred Prevost). Kristina is survived by her 3 children Aaron Goldsmith (Michele Goldsmith) Meagan Goldsmith (John Tolson) Emily Joseph (Bradley Joseph) her 2 grandchildren Jonas Tolson and Dorian Tolson and loved by many in her extended family including, the McDonald's, Bisheimer's, and Kirkbaumer's. Shirley J. King, 95
Shirley J. King, 95 of North Jackson died early Saturday morning at Antonine Village, North Jackson. Shirley was born May 13, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Earl and Lillian T. (Evans) Davis and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from North Jackson High School in 1943. Shirley was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Meander Chapter, where she served as Past Worthy Matron and the Pythian Sisters #313 of North Jackson.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed. She leaves her husband of 76 years, Daniel E. King, Sr., whom she married March 12, 1944; seven children, M. Jane (Robert) Knapp of Berlin Center, Jacquelynne (Robert) Salmon of Alexandria, Ohio, Daniel King, Jr. of Lordstown, Robert (Karen) King of Newton Falls, William (Lisa) King of Lordstown, David King of Freeland, Michigan, Timothy (Mary Ann) King of Lordstown; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Moore, Marjorie Wiczen; a half brother, Earl Davis, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Bev King and a grandson, Daniel E. King, III. Due to the current situation, the family will be having private services. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Antonine Sisters, 2675 N. Lipkey Rd., North Jackson, OH 44451.

Jacob Rodesh, 76
Jacob Rodesh, 76, of Canfield, passed away early Saturday morning after a long battle with lung cancer and COPD. Jacob leaves his wife, Carol (Black); brother, David DeGeorge and his wife Cynthia of Columbia, MD; a sister, Denise Tebbets and her husband Bernie of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces, Jessica Yowonske, Laura Weston and a nephew and namesake, Jacob Tebbets all of Pittsburgh. Jacob was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Helen and Dominic DeGeorge; his father, John Rodesh. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley, all the friends and family who gave their love and support; the doctors and staff who took care of Jake and God for letting us have 76 years with him. Per Jacob's wishes there will be no services or calling hours.

GUILFORD LAKE - Lisa Therese Russo, 31, died Friday, September 10, 2020. She was born on April 25, 1989 in Farmington Hills, MI, a daughter of Anthony Joseph Russo and Gail Gallinot. Lisa was a 2007 graduate of United Local High School. One of her true passions was art. She is survived by her father, Anthony Russo of Ocala, Fl; her mother, Gail Gallinot of Guilford Lake; one sister, Zuravin Russo of Baltimore; uncle and aunt, Gustave and Nancy Gallinot; uncle, Jerome McSweeney; two nephews, Garrett and Gustave Gallinot; and friend, Robert Gebler. A celebration of life open house will be held today, September 14, 2020 at her residence at 6795 E. Lake Rd., Lisbon, OH from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Bartholomew W. 'Bart' Schrode Jr., 81
SALEM - Bartholomew W. 'Bart' Schrode Jr., 81, died Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his home.
He was born November 19, 1938 in Glen Campbell, PA, son of the late Bartholomew W. Sr. and Lillian J. (Cessna) Schrode. Bart served in the United States Air Force during Peace time, with four years active and four years in the Reserves. He had worked as a supervisor for A&P Tea Company and Freshmark in Salem, where he retired in 2000 after 40 years. Bart was a Mason in the Austintown Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Karen L. (Heitz) Schrode whom he married September 13, 1962; three sons, Keith (Kim) Schrode of Chardon, Bret (Tammy) Schrode of Washingtonville, and Kharl (Tina) Schrode of Amsterdam; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Morrison of Syracuse, NY; two brothers, James Schrode of AZ and Thomas Schrode of New Middletown.
Besides his parents, a son, Bartholomew W. Schrode III and a brother, Dennis Schrode also preceded him in death. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. Thomas Joseph Rusk, 86
Thomas Joseph Rusk, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, September 8, 2020 at Shepherd of the Valley Howland following a brief illness. Thomas was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 27, 1933, the son of Martin and Mary (Czech) Rusnaczyk, who immigrated to Cleveland from a village near Krakow, Poland. He grew up in the family business, a corner grocery in Garfield Heights, Ohio, first stocking shelves as soon as he could reach them.
He was a graduate of Cathedral Latin and of John Carroll University. He continued his education at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning his Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 1961. He served in and was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserves in 1962. Following internship and residency training in Detroit, MI, he settled in Warren in 1964 and began practicing anesthesia at the former Warren General Hospital (WGH) in partnership with Dr. Joseph Ucchino.
He was a longtime member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton (St. James) Roman Catholic Parish in Warren, the Trumbull County Medical Society, and was a life member of the Ohio Osteopathic Association. He served as Chief of Medical Staff at WGH and was active professionally until his retirement. Thomas enjoyed reading, listening to polkas and medical lectures, and especially, meandering drives in the countryside. Thomas is survived by his wife Patricia (formerly Creed), of Warren, whom he married May 21, 1967; four children, Mary of Warren, Pamela of Warren, Barbara of Placitas, NM and Thomas (Josie) and granddaughters Lena and Anna, all of Cooperstown, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Albert, Joseph, Leo, Walter, Mary, and Frank. Private services are planned for interment at North Jackson Cemetery, North Jackson, Ohio. A celebration of life service is to be planned for the spring of 2021.

Alma F. Robinson, 93
Alma F. Robinson, 93, of Canfield, died Friday evening at Windsor House of Canfield. Alma was born April 12, 1927 in Nurnberg, Germany, a daughter of the late Kurt and Christine (Huber) Schneider. She came to the United States in 1953, living in Pennsylvania and came to Canfield in 2009. She had been a sales clerk for the former Kaufman's Department Store for many years. Alma was very talented in needlework and made beautiful cross - stitch, crochet and knitted items. Her husband, Robert W. Robinson, whom she married May 26, 1953, died December 23, 2009. She leaves her daughter, Linda Robinson of Canfield and two grandsons, William (Jena) Ramirez and Michael (Krista) Ramirez, and two great-grand - daughters, Sophia Jane and Ava Christine.
Besides her parents and her husband, Alma was preceded in death by a sister, Hilde Hacker and a son-in-law, John Hixenbaugh. Alma will be buried next to her husband at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, Pennsylvania.

Claudette Wood, 67
CORTLAND - Claudette Wood, 67, entered the arms of the Savior she loved, suddenly from natural causes, on September 8, 2020.
She was born June 9, 1953 to Claude and Bernitea Conley. Claudette went to Maplewood Schools graduating in 1971. She attended ITT in Youngstown graduating with a diploma in Secretarial Studies. After graduation she married the love of her life, Roger, on August 12, 1972. They enjoyed 48 years of a happy marriage. Claudette loved the Lord Jesus and was involved in Fowler Community Church in the Willing Workers and had taught Sunday School.
She was employed as a Secretary in the Maintenance department at Hillside Hospital for 13 years.
She was known for her sweet spirit and there was no one she didn't love.
She was a lover of birds and dogs and flowers. She also loved to travel and had traveled to the Caribbean islands, Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland, and most of the continental US. Claudette is survived by her husband Roger; her four siblings Robert (Cheryl) Conley, John (fiancé Coreen) Conley, Wendy (Joe) Mistak, and Julie (Ted) Halubka; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one nephew, Michael Conley. Visitation will be at the Fowler Community Church on Monday September 14, 2020. Viewing will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm.
