Louis S. Szuch, 83
NILES - Louis S. Szuch, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Lake Vista Cortland. Louis was born on August 14, 1937 in Leechburg, PA, the son of the late Joseph S. and Julia H. (Palczer) Szuch.
He married the love of his life, Elizabeth 'Bette' Takach, on February 28, 1958 and they shared 62 wonderful years together. For 39 years, Louis worked for General Motors Lordstown as an electrical engineer.
He was a hard - working man who enjoyed being busy.
He loved cars and sports, especially the Buckeyes. He enjoyed coaching the little league team and making furniture, he was quite the craftsman. Even though Louis loved all of these things, there was nothing that he loved more than his family; they were everything to him. Louis was known for his quick wit, infectious smile and his kind, compassionate spirit.
He was proud to be an American who served in the United States Air Force from 1958 until 1962. Louis will be missed dearly by wife Bette; his children Jeff (Kim) Szuch of Charleston, SC and Kelle (Bill) Cohol of Niles, OH; his grandchildren Eric (fiancé Jamie Lockwood) Szuch of Charleston, SC and Dael Szuch of Atlanta, GA; his brother Donald (Dianne) Szuch; his sister-in-law Barb Szuch of Machesney Park, IL; his nieces Holly (Will) Sandy, Heather (Dave) Bellian, and Heidi (Hank) Graber; his cousins David (Michelle) Szuch and Leigh Ann (Jody Chandler) Szuch; and many other family and friends.
Besides his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his brother Robert Szuch. Visitation for Louis will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts - Clark Chapel. Reverend Dave Luther, Chaplain of the American Legion Post 700, will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made out to St. Jude's Children Hospital located at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Ruth A. Rowlands, 82
Salem - Ruth A. Rowlands, 82, went to be with the Lord and her husband Saturday, September 5, 2020 surrounded by her family. She passed away very peacefully at the Salem Regional Medical Center, after stays at both Auburn and Blossom Nursing Homes. Ruth was born on May 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Edward S. Hendricks and Rose E. (Milliken) Hendricks Hughes. Ruth graduated in 1956 from Leetonia High School. Ruth worked as a press operator at Church Budget Press and babysat children in her home for many years. Ruth had a deep faith in God and was a member of the Damascus Friends Church - Salem Campus (formerly Southeast Friends) for many years. She served as Education Chairperson and Sunday School teacher, as secretary to several of the pastors, and as pianist/organist for many years.
She loved gardening and canning, was a great cook and the best cookie baker.
She loved babysitting, having her family visit, and organizing family events. Her husband, Albert, whom she married on June 15, 1956, preceded her in death on March 16, 2020. She is survived by her two daughters, Jamie (Bill) French of Salem, and Karen Pollock of Guilford Lake; son, Jim, of Fayetteville, WV; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, soon to be 11; sisters, Beverly Beachler and Joy Jurina, both of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl and Paul; her sisters, Ethel Dinsio and Evelyn DeRoads; son-in-law, John Pollock, and her granddaughter, Erin Pollock. A memorial service for both Ruth and Albert is being planned for a later date. Until then, please keep their family in your thoughts and prayers. Reach for the Stars is a program that provides students with disabilities with real life training experiences through their gift shop, local artisans and Ohio - based companies. Brenda Sue Pyatt, 65
SALEM - Brenda Sue Pyatt, 65, died Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 25, 1955 in Salem, daughter of the late Leroy Charles Jr. and Edna Irene (Van Winkle) Pyatt. Brenda was a 1973 graduate of West Branch High School. She worked as a unit secretary for Salem Hospital for 40 years. Brenda was very active at Paris Ave. Christadelphians Church in Louisville. She enjoyed making homemade crafts and candy and loved her family.
Survivors include a brother, David (Louise) Pyatt of Alliance and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, a brother, Tom Pyatt also preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Stark Memorial with her friend Roger Snyder officiating. Calling Hours will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. For the safety of the Pyatt family and visitors, please adhere to social distancing, and bring your own mask. Burial will be held at Bunker Hill Cemetery.

Lori Ann (Miller) Snyder, 54
Lori Ann (Miller) Snyder, 54, of Austintown, died 3:13 AM Monday, September 7, 2020, at Hospice of the Valley - Hospice House.
She was born on March 31, 1966, in Salem, the daughter of John Miller and Kathleen (Hutton) Mellott. Lori was a 1984 graduate of Beaver Local High School. She previously worked as a Nursed Aid - STNA at Auburn (Damascus) and Essex of Salem nursing facilities. To those that knew Lori, they would agree that she was a very special and unique person. She lived life to the fullest whether it was singing and dancing, crafting, or spending the day shopping. Lori enjoyed spending time with her husband watching Nascar and football. She also thrived on the challenge of a good game of Sudoku. She enjoyed having and doing her hair, nails, and make - up. Lori liked to look her best. But, the dearest to Lori's heart was the time she spent with her family, friends, and especially the relationship that she had with her mom. She is survived by her husband, David A. Snyder, whom she married on September 4, 2004, her children, Ashley (Joshua) Culp and Angie (Erik McCambridge) Gouldsberry both of Salem, two other daughters and a son as well as 7 grandchildren, Zannah, Jacob, Emily, Sofia, Lexi, Allyson, and Lizzy Culp. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, 1:30 PM at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, of Salem. Pastor Kari Lankford of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia will be officiating the service. Lori will be laid to rest in East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers following her services. A time of visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Ruby H. Cummings, 97
Ruby H. Cummings, 97, of Canfield, passed away the morning of Friday, September 4th at the Victoria House in Austintown. Born November 30, 1922 in Canfield, Ruby was the daughter of the late George and Ruby (Zimmerman) Blunt. A lifelong resident, Ruby graduated from Canfield High School in 1941. She furthered her education and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University and earned her teacher's certificate from Youngstown College. Prior to retirement in 1986, Ruby taught third grade for Canfield Schools. Ruby was a member of Canfield Presbyterian where she also sang in the choir.
She was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association.
She loved camping with her family, listening to music and writing poetry.
Besides her parents, two brothers and a sister, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Cummings and her great-granddaughter Sydney Cummings. She and Robert were married January 7, 1945. Robert died May 1, 1988. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Jeff (Linda) Cummings, John Cummings, and Janis (Brock) Hartman, her grandchildren; David (Shari) Huff, John (Shea) Cummings, Steve (Anne) Cummings, great-grandchildren; Ethan, Addison, Ella, Ruby, Jackson, Lauren and Emily and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be determined. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, Victoria House or Canfield Presbyterian Church.
Arthur Nelson Trickett, 80
Arthur Nelson Trickett, age 80, passed away at Crandall Medical Center, on the campus of Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, Sebring, Ohio on September 3, 2020. His wife, Donna, of 53 years, was able to be present. Born in Morgantown, West Virginia on February 25, 1940, Nelson moved to Utica, Ohio along with his brother Lennie and Loretta Nelson joined the Navy in 1958, where he began his interest in flying. After two years of college at Miami University of Ohio, he proceeded toward a flying career. From Lake Central Airlines to eventually a captain on a MD - 80 for USAir, he loved to fly. But he also loved to work with children, which he and his wife did for 26 years. Those who will be left to cherish his memory are: his wife; Donna Trickett, his son; Kirk Arthur Trickett; brother, Lennie Trickett, sister Loretta Michael, grandson; Joseph Trickett, granddaughter; Savanna Trickett, great-grandchildren; O'Brian Trickett, Jazlyne Trickett, Colton Trickett, and Abel Trickett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Frances Trickett and their daughter, Kimberly Dawn Trickett. A graveside service will be held in Townville, Pennsylvania at a future date.
Adin R. "Dick" Hively, 85
New Middletown - Adin R. "Dick" Hively, age 85, of New Middletown previously of Leetonia, died on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
He was born on September 9, 1934 in Canfield, OH and lived in this area all of his life, he was the son of the late Emerson and Bertha Wineland Hively. Adin had worked as the head of the dairy department with A & P, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ. He is survived by his former wife, Patricia Carl and a personal friend Kelly Fookes.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Carl. No Services will be observed at this time. Burial will take place at St. Jacob's UCC Cemetery, Leetonia.

Ronald D. Nupp, age 63, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 following a courageous battle with Cancer.
He was born June 6, 1957 in Canton, OH. Ron is survived by his mother, Mary Ann (Vernier) Nupp; his sister, Debbra (David) Miller; and his brother, Peter (Beth) Nupp; nieces and nephews: Amy Nupp, Brian Nupp, Chelsea Nupp McNally {Michael), Stephanie Miller Aronovic (David), Nathan Miller and a grand-niece, Kinsley McNally.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Nupp. Ron will be laid to rest, next to his father, at a private service at Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH.

Charles 'Chuck' R. Bealer, age 73, of Louisville, OH passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020.
He was born in Canton, Ohio on December 20, 1946 to the late Burdette and Cecelia (McGraw) Bealer.
Chuck was retired from McKesson Drug Co. and was a former employee of Finney's Drug in Canton.
He was a veteran of the Army National Guard of Ohio and was a member of the Saturday Morning Walk Club.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Carol (McLeese) Bealer and his daughter, Angie Bealer.
Funeral services will be 12noon Thursday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.
Calling hours will be from 11am - 12noon Thursday morning at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

Geraldine M. Schario, age 90, of Louisville, OH, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020.
She was born February 25, 1930 in Canton, OH to the late Lefron and Faye (Kersteter) Dunaway.
Geraldine was retired from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
She attended the Canton First Friends Church.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bob) Minster; three sons, Mark, David (Sandi) and Richard (Ann) Schario; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Schario.
A private family funeral service will be 11am Wednesday at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Rick Brown officiating.
She will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH.
