Bonnie Bingham Geary
LEETONIA - Bonnie Bingham Geary, 74, of Leetonia, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at her home following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on April 10, 1946 in Salem, OH, daughter of the late William and Wilma Stokes Bingham and had lived in this area all of her life. Bonnie had been an owner and dispatcher for Geary's 24 Hour Towing Service in Leetonia with her husband Ed for many years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping and going to casinos. Her husband, Edwin E. Geary, preceded her in death, November 16, 2014. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Kim (Lee) Chestnut of Middleburg, FL; her son, Paul V. Calabrese, Jr. of Leetonia, OH; two sisters, JoAnn Ferry of Leetonia, Lois Boswell of Leetonia; three grandchildren, Patrick (Jenna) Chestnut, Nicholas Chestnut and Rebecca Calabrese; and three great-grandchildren, Killian Chestnut, Ava Chestnut and Herbert DeWitt.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Bingham and a granddaughter, Hayley Calabrese.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Woods - Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia. Due to the COVID - 19 pandemic, social distancing will be followed as we ask people to pass through the funeral home using mask protocol. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 1:00 pm at the Woods - Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia.

Patricia Jean 'Pat' Buckler
Patricia Jean 'Pat' Buckler, 90, of Howland Township and formerly of Fowler Twp. went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, May 14, 2020, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 30, 1929 in Spencerville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Evan A. and Jean Smith Hanley. Patricia was a 1947 graduate of Spencerville High School. She worked for several years for telephone companies in Ohio as an operator and secretarial staff. She also worked in Cortland for the Linville family at their Ohio BMV auto title registrar location. Patricia trusted in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and had been a member of the Fowler Community Church, where she played the piano for numerous years and had served as church treasurer. She also played the piano and organ at the Spencerville United Methodist Church many years ago. Patricia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Opal Chapter No. 181 in Cortland for over 70 years, the Trumbull County Republican Womens Club and the Trumbull County Literary Club. She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting. She is survived by three sons, R. Bruce (Janice) Buckler of Niles, John E. (Michelle) Buckler, with whom she made her home in Howland and Edward S. Buckler of Niles; four grandchildren, Janelle Buckler, Shana (Eric) Buckler - Lewis, Alexander Buckler and Joe Hall and one great-grandson, Christian Buckler. Her husband of 46 years, Robert R. "Bob" Buckler, whom she married April 3, 1954 preceded her in death July 24, 2000. One brother, Bruce Hanley also preceded in death. Private family services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer - Winans Chapel in Cortland. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Bazetta.

Alfred 'Freddie' DiCesare
SALEM - Alfred 'Freddie' DiCesare, age 91 died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 15, 1928 in Ossining, New York, son of the late Agostino and Leonilda (DiBerardine) DiCesare. Freddie served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Lake Park Manufacturing in Sebring and previously worked at Globe Packing in Salem and Royal China in Sebring. Freddie was of the Catholic faith.
He was previously a member of the Eagles and enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include two sons, Gus (Janice) DiCesare and Richard DiCesare; sister, Josephine Grabco of Warren; two grandchildren, Anthony (Stacy) DiCesare and Nicholas (Brittany Rhodes) DiCesare and great-grandson, Lucas DiCesare.
Besides his parents, his companion of 45 years, Mary Ellen Gilbey; siblings, Robert, Batiste, Nancy, Theresa, Clara, Jack, Leo and Gingy; granddaughter, Stephanie DiCesare and great-granddaughter, Destiny also preceded him in death. A private service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Stark Memorial with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Private calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. - Noon prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
Joanne Marie Taylor
Leetonia - Joanne Marie Taylor, 85, of Leetonia (a resident of Candall Medical Center, Sebring) passed into the loving arms of her Savior and LORD Jesus Christ at 8:55pm Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center succumbing to COVID - 19. The inspirational story of Joanne's life began on July 24, 1934 when she was born at home in Leetonia, OH the daughter of the late Dominic "Poppy" and Edith Wilson White and lived in the area all of her life. She eloped and married the love of her life, Hughes "Fuzz" Taylor on October 15, 1949. She graduated from Leetonia High School in 1951 and supported her husband when he was in the Army during the Korean War by traveling and living in Germany in 1953. Joanne loved her husband, she loved her children and grandchildren, and most of all, she loved her LORD Jesus Christ!
She was a faithful wife and a wonderful mother and homemaker.
She was Born Again in 1985 and the LORD granted her the desire and prayer of her heart that all her family might be saved! She ever witnessed that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. She overcame severe clinical depression, was a breast cancer survivor, and bravely battled the Coronovirus. Joanne is survived by her daughter, Kyle (Curt) Coffee of Salem, and son Mark (along with loving friend Lurisa Davis of Salem); grandsons Ian (Karen) Coffee of Salem and Alec Coffee of Florida and great-grandchildren Kason & Lara Coffee.
She was preceded in death by her husband July 25, 2011. A private celebration of life for Joanne will be held at Oakdale Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Douglas DeMar of Salem Bible Church officiating where Joanne was a member. Due to the COVID - 19 situation, the family understands that several of Joanne's friends are unable to attend services and they ask instead for their prayers. Joanne had a life well lived and we are confident that she was welcomed into heaven with the words, Well done good and faithful servant! Arlan Frederick Mason
Arlan Frederick Mason, 89, of Salem, died at 1:56 Pm Thursday, April 30, 2020, just two days after his wife at Salem West Healthcare also following complications of the Covid - 19 virus.
He was born on September 29, 1930, in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late John Slater and Emma (Miller) Mason.
He was employed at Mullins Mfg (nka American Standard) from 1948 to 1993. Arlan enjoyed playing his guitar and had played at one point in a country band. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to ride his Harley in his younger years. He and Marilyn enjoyed traveling around learning and researching the ancestry of their families. Arlan liked to do woodworking in his spare time. He is survived by three children; William R. (Lori) Mason, of Virginia, Arlan F. Mason II of Illinois, and Jeffrey L. Mason of Salem, six grandchildren, thirteen great - grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Arlan was preceded in death two days ago by his wife of 71 years, the former Marilyn Milda Noll who also died from the Corna - 19 virus, and his siblings: Helen Christofarris, Esther Snyder, Dorothy Topel, and Joseph and Roland Mason. A joint private family service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020, 11 A.M. at the Arbaugh - Pearce - Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. The Rev. John Bush will be officiating and the burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. A private visitation for the family will be at 10:30 A.M. Due to the Covid - 19, we are limiting the services to the family at the funeral home.

Nancy Ann McMillin
Enon Valley, PA - Nancy Ann McMillin, 65, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, August 14, 2020 at UPMC Jameson. Nancy was born on September 14, 1954, daughter of the late Howard and Retta June McMillin. Nancy was a 1972 graduate of Mohawk High School. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Nancy worked as a nurse for the former Westmoreland Hospital.
She was a member of Westfield Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon, sang in the choir, was chairman of funeral dinners and was a moderator of Westfield Women. Nancy also served as moderator for Mohawk Area Church Association for Women and Shenango Presbyterian Women.
She was a member of East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of Eastern Star and was serving as Worthy Matron.
She was Past Deputy Grand Matron in 2013 and 2014.
She was Past State President in 2016 and held the Grand Cross of Color for International Rainbow Girls. She installed many other chapter officers. Nancy also placed first for the office of Martha in the Ken Scott Ritual Competition and was a two year recipient of the Circle of Knowledge award.
She was a member of Woodlawn Chapter in Pennsylvania and was a Past Matron and was Deputy Grand Matron for Region 3A. She participated in the Barbara Adams Ritual award and was recognized for her memory work.
She was a member of Westfield Grange #1514 and would have been recognized as a 50 year member. She belongs to Lawrence County Pomona Grange where she was serving as secretary.
She was a member of Pennsylvania State Grange, National Grange and was to be the co - chair of the State Grange session in October.
She was a Lawrence County Junior Grange Princess, Pomona Princess and had been on the State Grange Youth Court.
She was a nurse for the State Junior Camp and was affectionately called 'Nurse Nancy'. She served as a volunteer at the Lawrence County Fair for the Home Economics where she was in charge of the quilts and afghans.
She was Judge of Elections for North Beaver 3. Nancy loved collecting rocks and shells, reading and Sudoku puzzles. She also loved flower and had recently completed her rose garden.
She was known for her apple dumplings. She made and sold many, with the profit going to various charitable projects. Nancy is survived by her two sisters, Mary Elizabeth McMillin and Laura Vannessa McMillin both of Enon Valley, PA.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ila May McMillin and her brother, Roy Franklin McMillin.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 21, 2020 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the Van Dyke - Swaney - Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine. Eastern Star Service will be held Friday at 5:45 pm at the funeral home.
Friends will also be received from 10 - 11 am Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Westfield Presbyterian Church, New Castle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Reverend Dr. David Clark officiating.
Burial will follow in Westfield Presbyterian Cemetery.

Tyler E. Wales
Tyler E. Wales passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, of a heart attack at the age of 53.
He was born June 16, 1967 in Salem, Ohio to Larry and Sandy (Evans) Wales. He graduated from East Palestine High School in 1985. Tyler worked in masonry with Jon Oliver Construction for a number of years. He spent countless hours volunteering and umpiring youth baseball. He will be remembered for his quick wit, ability to make everyone laugh and being a dedicated sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition to his parents of East Palestine he is survived by, grandmother Jerry Evans, fiance' Robin Miller, son David (Makayla), daughter Ashleigh, grandson Braylen, four sisters; Aaron (Porterfield) of Columbus, Chaney (Mike) Nezbeth of New Springfield, Pary Raley and Cortney (Kris) Wischerman both of East Palestine; nephews, Will, Trent, Connor, Jacob, Grant, Ethan, Clayton, Cameron, Jordon and Seth, nieces Maggie, Alexi, Kerrigan, Quin and Paige; great nephews, Theon and Dimitri, great nieces; Gabriella and Eleanor; Uncles Ted (Donna) Evans of Salem, Tom (Melody) Evans, Aunts Patty (Denny) Sugar, and Bonnie Evans all of East Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted Evans, Robert and Rose Wales and Thelma Wales, and two uncles Timothy Evans and Robert Wales.

Georgia A. McCoy
HOMEWORTH - Georgia A. McCoy, age 61 died Monday, July 20, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 27, 1959 in Youngstown, daughter of the late George and Gloria (Adams) Christie. Georgia worked at Mellinger's Nursery as head packer for nine years. She enjoyed horses and camping.
Survivors include her husband, Edward McCoy II; two sons, David McCoy and Edward (Melinda) McCoy III; sister, Gloria McDowell; brother, George Christie and five grandchildren, David McCoy Jr., Brandon McCoy, Lillyann McCoy, Edward McCoy and Samuel McCoy.
Besides her parents, two sisters, Donna Burkey and Dolly Woods also preceded her in death. No services will be held.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Cecil D. Beight
New Waterford - Cecil D. Beight, 85, passed away Thursday morning, June 25, 2020 at Christian House Assisted Living in East Palestine. Cecil was born on October 9, 1934 in Unity Township, OH, son of Wilbur and Hazel Hocanson Beight. He had owned and operated O.T. Beight and Son's monument company for many years and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Petersburg. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Cecil had served as a Unity Township trustee for several years.
He was also a member of Poland Masonic Lodge #766 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #467 in East Palestine. In his retirement he spent his time in Punta Gorda, FL and loved restoring old tractors and playing euchre. His wife, the former Ruth L. Drummond, whom he married on June 5, 1954, died May 31, 2002. Cecil is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia (Darrell) Birkhimer of Tuscon, AZ; Pamela (Joseph) Colella of New Waterford; his son, Eric Beight of East Palestine, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Beight and a brother, Dale W. Beight. Private funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Van Dyke - Swaney - Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Erin Marie Burns officiating. Kris Wayne Smith
New Waterford - Kris Wayne Smith, 60, of New Waterford, formerly of Butler, PA, Passed away, Thursday, June 4, 2020 in New Waterford.
He was born, March 20, 1960 in Sewickley, PA, son of Joan Meacham Smith Hineline. Kris was an SP4 military veteran of the United States Army.
He was a graduate of Hopewell High School, after high school he attended the Computer Tech School of Technology and worked for Electronic Data Systems and the Senate of Pennsylvania until retiring as a System Analyst.
He was an owner and operator of Molly's Stardust Motel, the former Butler Memorial Hospital Rental Units and operator of Terrace Lakes Campground. Kris was a jack of all trades and an expert carpenter, having constructed many homes from the bottom up.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Kris had the ability to meet strangers and instantly turn those relationships into genuine friendships. He is survived by his children, Sean Kristopher (Stephanie) Smith of Pittsburgh, Pa, George Edward Smith of Butler, PA and Jennifer Rose Smith (Paul Rust) of Redmond, WA; Mother, Joan Smith Hineline; four siblings, Sunny A. (Harold) Eby, Ray L. Smith, Kevin B. (Cheryl) Smith, Daniel J. (Elizabeth) Smith; an aunt, Cookie Hora; five Grandchildren, Aria Belle, Rowan Kristopher, Rhea Anne, Jaxon George and Logan Joaquin and several nieces and nephews, Charles, Tara, Annie, Danielle, Derek, Kevin, Joan, Shane, Johnathan, Joshua and Many Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Lynn and Annie Fielding Meacham and his father and mother-in-law, George and Anne Eck and an aunt, Linda Dunmire. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Van Dyke - Swaney - Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine where social distancing will be encouraged and mask protocol is suggested. Military Honors and a time of sharing will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home, where friends and family are invited to share a beloved memory of Kris. Military honors will be accorded by the East Palestine American Legion, Post 31, Honor Guard.
