Marsha Anne Eucker
SALEM - Marsha Anne Eucker, age 56 died Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 26, 1964 in Salem, daughter of the late Carl C. Jr. and Charlotte Mary Elizabeth Agnes (Hiesser) Eucker. Marsha was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed fine dining, music and gardening.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Smith of Salem and Angela Charlotte Eucker of West Alexander; two brothers, Michael Eucker and Mark (Renee) Eucker, both of Salem. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Besides her parents, a brother-in-law, Floyd Smith also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. For the safety of the Eucker family and visitors, please adhere to social distancing, bring your own mask and do not linger. Inurnment will be held at Grandview Cemetery later. Walter Emil Hartman Jr.
LEETONIA - Walter Emil Hartman Jr., was born on June 29, 1948 in Salem, Ohio. He joined his heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was 71 years of age. In his early years he played baseball until he was struck in the eye by a baseball, which caused him to lose vision in one eye. Wally was a 1966 graduate of United Local High School. After that, he primarily enjoyed to golf, hunt, and fish. Wally would hunt and fish with anyone who would be willing to go with him. His favorite times were taking either his children or nephews out into the woods. He had the gift of conversation. Once he acquired his hot rod, he would go with the Kool Time Cruisers to every car show, where he could to sit and talk with anyone. He belonged and was an active member of Lake Mount Church of Christ, where he shared his gift of singing with the congregation. He owned his own mason business. During that time, he taught his sons how to be hardworking and as dedicated as he was. Even then, he was always ready to help anyone in need. Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Betty Jane Hartman, his sister, Verla Del Madison. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Louise Hartman, his brother-in-law, Chuck Madison. Wally had two sons, Jason (Loretta) Hartman and Adam Hartman; nephew, Chis (Jody) Lease; one grandchild, Cordelia Belle Hartman and one more on the way; as well as his great nephews, Mason and Brogan Lease. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Lake Mount Church of Christ with Evangelists, Jason Cole and Dick Chambers officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. For the safety of the Hartman family and visitors, please adhere to social distancing and bring your own mask.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Lake Mount Church of Christ, 6290 St. Rt. 7, New Waterford, OH 44445.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Jimmy Papatoukakis
Jimmy Papatoukakis, 65, Wellsville, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2020, at his home.
He was born on August 21, 1954, in Canton, the son of the late Nikolaos and Mary (Lewis) Papatoukakis. He is also survived by two sisters. No services are to be held at this time.

Pernal Derrickson Baker, Sr.
Pernal Derrickson Baker, Sr., 82, of Salem, died at 1:45 AM Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
He was born on February 17, 1938 in Salineville, Ohio, the son of the late Marion and Alice Mae (Householder) Baker.
He was employed for 28 years at the GM Lordstown Auto Assembly plant. He had previously worked for the railroad in Wellington.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness and Baptized on May 12, 1974. Pernal was a very quiet, calm easy going gentleman.
He loved to travel around enjoyed playing board games with his family.
He was very close with his family and was there to help them when ever they need him. Pernal enjoyed eating a nicely cooked steak, loved a good cup of coffee and Chinese Food. He is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Marie Morgan whom he married on May 20, 1963, his children; Pernal D. Baker Jr., Alice Maria Baker, Virginia Sue (David) Morris, David Earl Baker, Joel Robert Matthew (Anne) Baker and Maggae Jo Jackson, siblings; Harold Clark Baker, Wanda Vantilburg and Cora Mae Weekley, and six grandchildren; Andrea Morris, Michael James Baker, Matthew Joseph Johnson, Evan David Baker, Anna Eileen Baker and Christopher Joel Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Grace Harding, Ruth Hooper, Audrey Cheuvront and Earl Dean Baker. It was Pernal's wishes that there be no public services. A private family viewing and burial was held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 2 PM with burial that followed in Franklin Square Cemetery. Wednesday June 10, 2020

Mary Beth (Batzli) Brown
Mary Beth (Batzli) Brown, 68, of Salem, died at 11:42 AM Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born on December 12, 1951, in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Lutsch) Batzli.
She was a 1970 graduate from West Branch High School. On August 27, 1971, she married her husband of 48 years, Donald Brown.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her kids and family, as well as going to Rogers Sale and other yard sales, and enjoyed golfing and playing on many golf leagues. In her early years, she was a keypunch operator at E.W. Bliss. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jesse M. and Jerri N. Brown, both of Salem, and her brother Tim Batzli of Mississippi. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Joseph E. Brown. A private funeral will be held on Monday at Salem Emanuel Lutheran Church with burial following at Highland Memorial Park.

Marilyn Milda (Noll) Mason
Marilyn Milda (Noll) Mason, 88, of Salem, died at 3:15 Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Salem West Healthcare due to Covid - 19 virus.
She was born on April 4, 1932, in Salem, the daughter of the late Roy and Marie (Schwebach) Noll. Marilyn worked at Salem Label as a Roll Print Press Operator for 14 years. She also worked for Dr. Richard Pasco DC as an insurance clerk for four years. Marilyn went to Kent State University later in life and graduated with a degree in Business. She also volunteered at the Salem Memorial Building to assist local residents with filing their taxes. Marilyn loved to research and learn things her entire life. It allowed her to be a good teacher in helping others. This was also a big help to her over the years as she did research of the family ancestry. In her spare time she loved to be outdoors in the flower beds and vegetable garden. She then liked to bring in her harvest and make delicious meals all year round. In her quiet times you could find her crafting and knitting in her home. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Arlan F. Mason Sr., whom she married on July 23, 1948, three children; William R. (Lori) Mason, of Virginia, Arlan F. Mason II of Illinois, and Jeffrey L. Mason of Salem, six grandchildren, thirteen great - grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Roy L. Noll and Marie (Schwebach) Noll Vaughn, She was preceded in death by her son Charles J. Mason, and brother Paul J. Noll. Private family services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020, 11 A.M. at the Arbaugh - Pearce - Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. The Rev. John Bush will be officiating and the burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. A private visitation for the family will be at 10:30 A.M. Due to the Covid - 19, we are limiting the services to the family at the funeral home. The visitation and funeral will be broadcast on YouTube starting at 10:30 A.M.

Denise M. Forbes
Denise M. Forbes, 57, of Salem, (Formerly of Struthers) died at 5:35 AM Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in the emergency room of Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born on May 25, 1962 in Beaver, Pa., the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Dorothy Alice (Yemm) Forbes II. Denise moved to Salem in June, 2017, coming from Struthers.
She was last employed at MVP Construction. She is survived by her brother Donald from Lewis Center, Ohio and a host of relatives and friends. No services will be held.

Trina Lee (Austin) Witherstine
SALEM - Trina Lee (Austin) Witherstine, age 37, died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 3, 1983 in Canton, daughter of Tom Austin Sr. and Tina (Miller) Wilkins. Trina was a graduate of Perry High School in Massillon. She served in the United States National Guard. She worked as a clerk at Circle K.
Survivors include her husband, Brad Witherstine; mother, Tina Wilkins and father, Tom (Debra) Austin Sr.; two sisters, Amy (Condos) Morgan and Shelley Condos, both of Massillon; three brothers, Tommy Austin of Canton, Daniel Austin of Texas and Raymond Cooper of Texas. No services will be held.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Nikki Lee Smith
Nikki Lee Smith passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 into the loving arms of the Lord.
She was born Sept 11, 1947 in Salem, Ohio to Lawrence (Mike) and Isabelle V. Smallwood. Nikki was a 1965 graduate of United Local High School.
She was employed for a number of years at Salem Hospital as a respiratory therapist and later at the Buckeye Village Market in Alliance, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her horses, Windy and Rascal, being outdoors, and spending time at Berlin Lake with friends and family. With her contagious laugh, she will be remembered for her kind, loving, and gentle spirit.
She was an incredibly spiritual soul who was a follower of Christ and an inspiration to others. Nikki was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Isabelle Smallwood, a son, Todd W. Smith and a sister-in-law, Kathy Smallwood. Her greatest joy was being mother to her three sons: Matthew, Christopher, and Michael Smith.
She was incredibly proud of all three boys and they will miss her dearly. Nikki is also survived by her brother, Don Smallwood and his family, and daughter-in-law, Julie Stoddard Smith. Nikki adored her grandchildren Caroline, Nicholas, Sonny and Remy Smith and she loved spoiling them with gifts and candy. Close friend and companion Rick Seitz held a special place in Nikki's heart, and he took great care of her for many years. Nikki's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the hospice nurses and staff at First and Main Retirement Home in Lewis Center, Ohio and the nursing team at Capital City Hospice for the compassionate care they have given Nikki during the recent months. A private family memorial service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home at 510 Jennings Avenue in Salem, Ohio. Burial to follow at Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions made in Nikki's honor can be sent to Angels for Animals in Canfield, Ohio - 4750 S Range, Canfield, Ohio 44406 (330) 549 - 1111.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Salem, 330 - 337 - 6363.

Taylor Scott Phillips
Taylor Scott Phillips, age 29, of Guilford Lake passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 29, 2020. Taylor was born November 20, 1990, son of Michael and Shirley (Sell) Phillips. Taylor was a 2009 graduate of United Local where he excelled in football, basketball, track, and baseball. Following high school, Taylor attended the University of Mount Union where he played football. He graduated in 2013 with a degree in accounting. Throughout Taylor's life, he impacted many of all ages. His personality could light up any venue. Taylor absolutely loved enjoying life with his many friends. He could sit around a room full of adults and discuss life and in the blink of an eye act like a five - year - old with the kids in the next room just to make them laugh and smile. Taylor enjoyed being outdoors. Anything from working at the family farms, trucks, walking the woods, and tractor pulls.
He was the most stylish country guy you ever saw, from his boots, to his random belt buckles and sunglasses. Nights out where he could hang out with his friends and just be Taylor. Sunday suppers playing whiffle ball, running around on round bales, and being the center of attention just to make everyone laugh. Taylor was our smart aleck who enjoyed life and we all loved him for who he was. Surviving family members include his parents Mike and Shirley Phillips, brothers Jordan (Christina) Phillips and Bryan (Sarah) Phillips, Grandmother Barb Sell, niece Rileah, nephews Jordan, Carter and Kase, aunts and uncles Linda (Ron) Jackson, Jeff (Deb) Sell, Laurie (Rick) Huston, and Cathy Phillips, along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Taylor also leaves behind girlfriend Darby and numerous great friends.
He was the grandson of Don Sell and Melva Phillips, who preceded him in death. Taylor left us with so many great memories that we will all cherish forever. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at Winona Friends Church with Rev. Robert Rowley officiating, Burial will be at Woodsdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Stark Memorial and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. For the safety of the Phillips family and visitors, please adhere to social distancing and bring your own mask.
