Ronald F. Cousino
Died: Saturday, September 06, 2003
Age: 60

Ronald F. Cousino, 60, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2003, at his Olathe, Kansas home.

He was born June 27, 1943, in Temperance, Michigan, son of Herbert Cousino and Jeanette Beam Cousino.

Mr. Cousino was a mortgage broker and was finance director for Johnson County 11 years.

Prior to that, he was employed by the City of Xenia as finance director. Mr. Cousino served on the Olathe School Board and was a member of the Businessmen’s Network International where he held several offices.

He enjoyed golf and received his Master’s from the University of Michigan in information science; he also held a Master’s from Temple University in public administration.

He and Marsha Lynn Green were married in Kansas City, KS, December 23, 1975. She survives as do two sons, Andrew J. Cousino and Mark A. Cousino, both of Olathe.

He is also survived by a brother Doug Cousino of Olmstead, Michigan; two sisters, Joan Trago of Columbus, OH and Pat Koby of Toledo, OH.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 14275 Blackbob Road, Olathe, KS, 66062. Private graveside services will be held at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials to the charity of choice.

Ray Calahan
Died: Saturday, September 06, 2003
Age: 82

Ray Calahan, age 82, of Fairborn died Sept. 6, 2003 at Wright Nursing Home. He is survived by his wife, Ardena and children; daughter, Wanda and David Matheny and Brenda Shadowens; and son, James and Carolyn Calahan. Also surviving are grandchildren, Angie August, Missy Stinson, Christy Patterson and Derrick Shadowens; and two great-grandchildren, Shelbi and Erin August. James was a member of Pleasant Valley Nazarene Church. Services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn with Pastor Ron Justice officiating. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.

James P. O’Brien
Died: Friday, September 05, 2003
Age: 48

James P. O’Brien, 48, of Beavercreek, formerly of Lorain, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Lorain, where he was a resident until moving to Beavercreek five years ago.

Mr. O’Brien was an accountant with H&R Block office in Xenia for the past five years. He previously worked in the Lorain office for 10 years.

He was a member of the St. Luke Evangelist Catholic Church in Beavercreek. He was also a member of Nickel Plate Railroad Society and was an avid railroad and trolley car enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (nee Klingshirn); mother, Martha O’Brien of Lorain; sister, Judith A. O’Brien-Kleinhenz of Upper Arlington, Ohio; three brothers, Dennis J. of Pittsburgh, Pa., Thomas J. of Lombard, Ill., and Kevin M. of Lorain, and 49 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis J. O’Brien, in 1979.

Friends may call Friday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where prayers will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. A 10 a.m. Mass will follow at St. Mary’s Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon. Rev. Joseph West and Rev. Thomas Cleaton will con-celebrate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Samuel Eldon Stiltner
Died: Friday, September 05, 2003
Age: 76

Samuel Eldon Stiltner, 76 of Fairborn, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 5, 2003 at WPAFB Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1927 in Hardy, Kentucky to Samuel E. and Ruth (Shelton) Stiltner.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, LaNelle; his son James T. and his wife Diane of Clermont, Florida; his daughters Karin DuChesne and her husband Jerry of Fairborn and Karil This and her husband S. Craig of Huber Heights; sisters Margaret Stacy of Florida, Francis Blair of Kentucky and Lorena Tecoma of Fairborn; special sister-in-law Marguerite Steele of California; grandchildren Shawn, Samuel and William DuChesne; Tyler and Justin This; Laura Tomashek, Amy Hall, and Tim and Ed Motes; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Sam is also survived by a group of life long friends including Ross and Jackie Clark of Greeneville, Jack and Shirley Gillenwater of Springfield, Thurston and Martha Scott of Indiana, Ken and Roberta Coyle of Mason and Bill and Mary Ellen Jones of Fairborn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother David and a sister Eula Gladys "Pete" West.

Samuel was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and an active member of The Church of Christ for over 50 years and was currently a member of the First Church of Christ in Fairborn, Ohio.

Friends may call at the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 East Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio, Thursday night, Sept. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 12th at the First Church of Christ, 206 West Dayton-Yellow Springs, Fairborn, Ohio with Minister Jim Gibson officiating, assisted by Steve White. Interment will be at Glen Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sam’s memory to the First Church of Christ.

B. Lucille (Coy) Dice
Died: Saturday, June 28, 2003
Age: 90

B. Lucille (Coy) Dice, 90, of Xenia, Ohio, made her victorious final journey home on Saturday, June 28, 2003. She was born in Beavercreek on March 26, 1913, to Russell and Martha (Dietz) Coy, early settlers of Beavercreek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Robert, and her sister Sarabelle Sargent.

She is survived by her three devoted sons and their families, Larry and Imogene Dice of Xenia, Gary and Janet Dice of Beavercreek and Dale and Cathy Dice of Wilmington; her brother and his wife, Dr. Roger and Carolyn Coy of Beavercreek; her sister Mary Saldusky of Fostoria, Ohio; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several extended family members and many friends.

She was a faithful and founding member of the Gospel Training and Outreach Center for many years. She will now be tending her heavenly gardens.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit Street, Xenia. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at the funeral home.

Burial is in Valley View Cemetery, Xenia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gospel Training and Outreach Center, 31 N. First St., Fairborn, Ohio 45324.

Helen I. Kyne
Died: Saturday, June 28, 2003
Age: 79

Helen I. Kyne, 79, Spring Valley, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 28, 2003, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 27, 1924, in Xenia, the daughter of George and Mary Barlow Bottorff. She retired from S.B. Craig & Co.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Jerry Bowen, Spring Valley; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph L. and Judy Kyne, Spring Valley, and Patrick G. Kyne, Bellbrook; seven grandchildren and spouses, Bradley and Crystal Kyne, Tracey and Ron Brooks, Tod and Laure Bowen, Chad and Cristy Bowen, Patricia Nelms, Ashley Kyne and Justin Kyne; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Roberts, Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Neil "Tom" Bottorff, Xenia; and a longtime friend, Herman Weidner, Spring Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Kyne, May 4, 1987; two children; and two brothers, George Bottorff and F.E. "Peanut" Bottorff.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery, with the Rev. Ben Lyttle officiating.

Contributions may be made to the Spring Valley Senior Center, 1498 Spring Valley-Paintersville Rd., Spring Valley, Oh. 45370.

June Evelyn Stephens
Died: Saturday, June 28, 2003
Age: 84

June Evelyn Stephens, 84, of Xenia, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born on June 19, 1919, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence Austin and Vesta (Wisecup) Dudley.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Fred Stephens; three sisters; and four brothers.

Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Xenia, VFW Cooper Jordan Post since 1951, where she was recognized as the longest serving member, American Legion Post 95, Moose Lodge and former member of Xenia Tornado Twister Band.

She is survived by her children, Janet (Mike) Pettit of Xenia, Debbie (Gene) Vandeventer of Hamilton, Bob (Tina) Stephens of Xenia, and Gene (Chris) Stephens of Wilmington; a daughter-in-law, Priscilla Stephens of Xenia; brother Carl Dudley of Florida; grandchildren Justin Stephens, Shannon Jervis, Jeremy Grooms, Jesse Poe, Ricky Saint, Beth Stephens, Scott (Bobbi) Stephens, Tony Stephens, Heidi (Roger) Baker, Heather Stephens and Tonya (Eddie) Stamper; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Aaron, Matthew, Taylor, Asheley, Kylie, Gabriel, Cameron, Alyssa, and Sarah; several nieces and nephews, other extended family members and many friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio 45385, with Pastor Sam Luke. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in Woodland Cemetery.
