Dale B. Holloway
Died: Friday, October 10, 2003
Age: 87

Dale B. Holloway, 87, of Xenia, formerly of Springfield, died Friday, Oct. 10, at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia.

He was born in Ross County on July 28, 1916, to Jesse Clyde and Margaret “Morgan” Holloway.

He graduated from Buckskin High School and Springfield Business College.

On June 17, 1939, he married Marjorie Anderson, who died Dec. 14, 2000. They made their home in Springfield for 60 years before moving to Outlook Pointe Assisted Living Center in Xenia. He was retired from The Champion Company and was a longstanding member of the Masons, Clark Lodge N. 101 and Northminster Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and William Wright of Xenia; granddaughter, Joan and husband Frank McLain of Galloway; grandson Gregory Wright and wife Martha Mai, of Washington, D.C.; and great-grandchildren Mallory and Matthew McLain of Galloway. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Bristley of Lyndon; brother-in-law O Eugene Storts of Dublin; brother-in-law and wife, Willard and Joann Anderson of South Salem; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also preceding him in death were a brother and his wife, Jesse Grant and Eunice Lee Holloway.

Funeral services will be held at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson St., Greenfield, Ohio, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.

Burial will follow in the South Salem Cemetery.

Special gifts may be given in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3797 Summit Glen Drive, Dayton, OH 45449.

Kehm A. Lambert
Died: Thursday, October 09, 2003
Age: 61

Kehm A. Lambert, 61, of Beavercreek, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at his residence.

Kehm was born on Aug. 14, 1942, in Dayton to Hugh K. and Florence (Detrick) Lambert.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Katie J.; two loving daughters, Cynthia (Kyle) Katzenbach of Kettering and Kathy Lambert of Beavercreek; also the apple of his eye, his grandson, Adam “Bubba” Lambert.

He is also survived by two brothers, Rev. Dr. George (Miriam) Lambert, of Mansfield, Ohio, and Elden (Susan) Lambert, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Ruthie Lambert of Dayton; two brothers-in-law, Roger (Donna) Turner and Ronnie (Cindy) Turner and a sister-in-law, Linda (Robert) Hillard.

He will be sadly missed by a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Kehm served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, was employed by Ohio Bell and Ameritech for more than 30 years and was a member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Moraine Heights Baptist Church, 5661 Munger Road. Brother Terrell Hudson officiating.

Internment in Willow View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave.

The family requests donations be made to Moraine Heights Baptist Church or the Beavercreek Fire and Rescue Department.

Kenneth A. Markham
Died: Thursday, October 09, 2003
Age: 76

Kenneth A. Markham, age 76, of Xenia, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Greene Oaks Health Center in Xenia where he had been residing since September 17th of this year. He was born on June 15, 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia , the son of Charles and Ella Mae Markham.

Mr. Markham was a World War II Army veteran and member of Arrowbrook Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist from Crown Cork and Seal Factory in Baltimore, MD. He was married to Ruth E. Williford Markham on May 3, 1969 and she preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 1999. He is also preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law John Kroening; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his children, Ann (Gene) Whorley of Xenia, Janice (Dave) Ewen of Pennsylvania, Kay (Robert) Manker of Xenia, Walter (Darlene) Bogan of Maryland and Sonya Kroening of Virginia; grandchildren Robin (Kirk) Vincent, Tracy (Gene) Austin, David (Jeanie) Ewen, Jason (Ellen) Ewen, Aaron Bogan, Nikki Bogan, Jason Kintzel, Eric Kroening, Dallas and Danielle Manker; great-grandchildren Richie Vincent, Beau and Jake Austin and Kaylyn Bogan; his brother Charles (Peggy) Markham of Virginia; also, several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2003 at 2 p.m. at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday from noon until 2 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.

Rosalyn M. Gumm
Died: Thursday, October 09, 2003
Age: 75

Rosalyn M. Gumm, 75, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 9, 2003, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in New Jasper on Oct. 8, 1928, the daughter of Ralph and Lela (Conrey) Turnbull.

She retired from Ohio Bell in 1981 after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church, life member of the Pioneers of America Telephone Co. and served on the Jamestown Village Council from 1986 until 1998.

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown, where friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Silvercreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown United Methodist Church or Hospice of Dayton.

James Mitchell Hammonds
Died: Wednesday, October 08, 2003
Age: 88

James Mitchell Hammonds, age 88 of Enon, born June 24, 1915 in Straight Creek, KY, went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2003.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Pearley Fultz Hammonds, and youngest daughter Marjorie Gail Nicholson. He will be greatly missed and loved by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Lee Blanton of Enon, OH.; daughter Sharon Privett of Yuba City, CA; son-in-law Jerry Nicholson of Enon, OH; grandchildren, Krista Yarnell of St. Petersburg, FL, Teresa Privett of Yuba City, CA, Bradley Nicholson of Fairborn, OH, Kerry Nicholson of Enon, OH; great-grandchildren, Karma Spier of Yuba City, CA, Gavin Nicholson of Enon, OH, and Raymond Yarnell of St. Petersburg, FL.

James was longtime member of Calvary Chapel, served in World War II in the U.S. Army, worked at Springfield Machine & Tool Co., for over 19 1/2 years and retired from Hoffman Bros. Builders, Dayton.

A funeral service will be held in loving memory 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, with the Rev. Ken Willis officiating. Burial to follow at Enon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Mitchell Hammonds

Age: 88

James Mitchell Hammonds, age 88 of Enon, born June 24, 1915 in Straight Creek, KY., went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2003.
