Dr. Raymond H. Klug

Age: 78
Klug, Dr. Raymond H., age 78, of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, June 13, 2003.
He is survived by one son, Thomas Loren Klug of New York City; two daughters, Julie Klug Ford of Chicago and Patricia Jo Simantel of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren, Michael R. Klug of New York City, Brian M. Ford of Chicago, and Emily M. Simantel of Orlando, FL; three sisters, Justine Schinkle of Chillicothe, OH, Mary Lu Tarwater of St. Louis, MO, and Rita Klug of Indianapolis, IN; and one brother, John Klug of Terre Haute, IN.
Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during WWII. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved antique cars. He taught at the Air Force Institute of Technology, New York University, and the University of Lagos in Nigeria.
Ray was deeply religious and found tremendous comfort in his faith, his family and his friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin St., Dayton. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Tobias Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road. Internment Beaver Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Joshua Nelson Dodge
Died: Friday, June 13, 2003
Age: 19
Joshua Nelson Dodge, 19, of Xenia, passed away Friday, June 13, in Xenia.
He was born January 26, 1984, in Xenia.
Josh was a member of A House of Prayer (AHOP) in Xenia and enjoyed music.
He is survived by his parents, Lisa Dodge and Lawrence "Sonny" LeValley, Xenia, sister, Jessica Louise Dodge, papaw, Nelson Dodge, Xenia, sister like, Lacie Miller, special cousins, Zach Dodge, Amanda and John Dodge, Amber and Amy Gardner, grandparents, Janet and Lawrence LeValley, Texas, Aunts and Uncles, Doug Dodge, Dayton, Sheila Dodge, Xenia, Timmy Dodge, Cincinnati, Donna and David Sams, Xenia, Connie Thomas, Washington, D.C., Bonnie and Tom Thorman, Texas, Rebecca LeValley, Florida, Melissa and David Snyder, Xenia, other relatives and a host of good and special friends. He was preceded in death by his Grammy, Anita Dodge.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at 7 p.m. at AHOP, 356 Home Ave., Xenia, with Pastor Mark Brooks officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service time at the church. The family is being served by the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., 826 N. Detroit Street, Xenia.
James Howard Landaker
Died: Friday, June 13, 2003
Age: 86
James Howard Landaker, age 86, departed this world June 13, 2003, at the Chillicothe Veterans Hospital, where he had been a patient since January 17, 2003.
He served in World War II for four years with the HQ. Co. 7th Armd. Division across Belgium and France and in the famous Battle of the Bulge.
At the end of the war he came home to work with his father in farming and later at his home in New Jasper; he and a neighbor raised sweet corn and pumpkins for his many customers.
He enjoyed the Christmas lights and even at age 85 would fill his house and yard in New Jasper with thousands of bright lights.
Born in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of S. Howard Landaker and Lillie (Frnech) Landaker. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gertrude Landaker.
He leaves behind two devoted sisters, Mrs. Wilma (Lloyd) Reed and Mrs. Nellie (Raymond) Moorman, both of Jeffersonville, Ohio. Two nephews, Jerry (Ardath) Moorman of Jeffersonville and John Moorman of Columbus, Ohio and two nieces, Mrs. Bonnie (Jack) Carpenter of Rineyville, Kentucky, and Mrs. Linda (Frank) Hale of Wilmington, Ohio, six great-nephews and nieces and nine great-great-nephews and nieces.
At his request, there will be no visitation. A private Military Honor Guard service will be held for the family at the gravesite.
Helen Marlow
Died: Thursday, June 12, 2003
Age: 81
Helen (Williams) Marlow, age 81, of Xenia, formerly of Cedarville, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at her home in Xenia. She was born on Oct. 23, 1921, in Hardin County, Ohio, the daughter of Reb M. and Jane (Harmon) Gibson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and a brother.
Helen is survived by her children Phyllis Watkins of Xenia and Connie Comegy of Tuskegee, Alabama; grandchildren Joe, Thomas, Robert and Crissenda Cloud of Xenia; sisters Nettie Buckner of Xenia and Jeanne Morgan of Mechanicsburg; and brothers Junior, Jack, Dennis and Butch Gibson all of Urbana; a beloved nephew, Christopher Hardesty of Xenia; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; several beloved nieces and nephews; all of her card playing buddies; several extended family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 1 p.m. at 846 Hoop Rd., Xenia. Arrangements by McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio.
Donations may be made in care of the family.
Foye W. Rohler
Died: Wednesday, June 11, 2003
Age: 89
Foye W. Rohler, 89, Xenia, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 11, 2003, at the Bellbrook Rehab and Health Center in Bellbrook. He was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Cedarville, the son of Wayne and Lee Troute Rohler.
He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Spring Valley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Johnson) Rohler, whom he married Oct. 8, 1938; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Clay Byrd, Centerville; and a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Chris Rohler, Xenia; five grandchildren and spouses, Julie and Joe Dabbelt, Dan and Nicole Rohler, Nicholas Rohler, Amy and Charles Carroll, and Cindee Henderson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Linda Scott officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Monday, until service time.
Burial will be held at North Cemetery, Cedarville.

Bertha Mae (Warwick) Acton
Died: Tuesday, June 10, 2003
Age: 94
Bertha Mae (Warwick) Acton, 94, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at 8:15 p.m. in Friends Care Center in Yellow Springs. She was born on Jan. 10, 1909, in Lebanon, Ohio, the daughter of J.W. and Esther (Lowry) Warwick.
She resided in Lebanon until 1924, until moving to Xenia, living there from 1924 until 1934. She was a member of Yellow Springs United Methodist Church and former member of Miami Grange, Yellow Springs.
She resided in Yellow Springs since 1934, living on South College Street, North College Street and residing on Fairfield Pike on Acton Farm from 1946 until 1998. In recent years, she resided at Friends Care Center.
Last weekend Bertha attended her 77th Lowry Family Reunion at John Bryan State Park.
She is survived by five children, Nancy (Harold) Blackwood of Springfield, Dr. Robert W. (Dollie) Acton of Plattesville, Wisconsin, Ralph (Melanie) Acton of Yellow Springs, Becky (Al) Shill of Dayton, and Mary Frances (Condie) Robbins of Kettering; two sisters, Gene Darner of Yellow Springs and Alice Warwick of Bradenton, Florida; 15 grandchildren, Sharon (Curt) Saunders of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Robin (George) Nevole of Crystal, Minnesota, Dr. Robert (Melissa) Acton of Eagan, Minnesota, Donald Acton of Houston, Texas, Glen (Kathleen) Blackwood of Rockford, Michigan, Ruth (Mike) Lee of Springfield, Donna (Paul) Evans of Enon, Diane (Eric) Johnson of Beavercreek, Debbie (Tony) Benton of Amesville, Ohio, David Acton of Yellow Springs, Amy (Todd) McCormick of Bellefontaine, Gary (Carey) Shill of New Bern, North Carolina, Rob Schamel of Centerville, Theresa (Paul) Staffan of Waynesville, Ohio and Ted Wabler of New York City;
22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert E. Acton Jr. of Yellow Springs in 1981, whom she married on Dec. 23, 1934. She is also preceded by three sisters, Mildred, Hazel and Mary; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Jackson Lytle & Ingling Williams Funeral Home, Yellow Springs on Thursday, June 12, 2003.
Services will be held Friday, June 13, 2003, in the Yellow Springs United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Hill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in Bertha’s name be made to the Yellow Springs United Methodist Church, 212 S. Winter Street, Yellow Springs, Ohio 45387, or Friends Care Center, 150 E. Herman Street, Yellow Springs, Ohio 45387.
Emmalou Yeary
Died: Monday, June 09, 2003
Age: 77
Emmalou Yeary, age 77 of Fairborn, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2003. She was born on Feb. 14, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Dearth) Brand.
Mrs. Yeary was retired from Fairborn City Schools with 16 years of service.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Yeary in 1966.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Dean, Clara Cowdrey, both of Fairborn, Ginny Yeary of Glendale, Arizona; two sons, Lonnie and Mike Yeary, both of Fairborn; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Belton Funeral Home, Fairborn, where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Reverend Pete Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the American Lung Association in her memory.
