Barbara A. Ramon, age 67, of Fairborn, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 in Greene Oaks Nursing Home, Xenia. Barbara was born June 4, 1936 in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada. She attended Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fairborn.
Survivors include her husband Robert of 23 years. Daughter, Heather Ann Mohr & husband Denny Mohr of Brookville. Son, Christopher James Eassa of Reading, Pennsylvania, Daughter, Karen Leslie Ehrenworth & husband Alan of Hamilton, New Jersey. Grandchildren, Stormie Lee Mohr of Brookville, Leslie Ann Rives of Fairborn, Brandon Eassa of Fairborn, Adam Eassa & Abigail Eassa of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Paul & Kyle Ehrenworth of Hamilton, New Jersey. Sister, Geraldine Leslie of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2003 from the Belton Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, with K of C Council #3724 officiating. Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to time of services in the funeral home.
Jack W. Ackerson Sr.
Died: Wednesday, August 20, 2003
Age: 82
Jack W. Ackerson Sr., 82, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away on Aug. 20, 2003, after a brief illness.
Jack served his country in WWII and Korea, retiring after a combined career with the Air Force and civil service. He was a member of Remsen Lodge 677 F&AM, Remsen, N.Y.
Jack joins his son Jeffrey and his wife Ethel with our Lord in Heaven. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Jack Jr. and Karen of Beavercreek, Jill and Tim Loukides of Annapolis, Md., and Judy and Paul Makris of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; grandchildren, Bryan and Jennifer Ackerson of Xenia, Anissa and Carl Kanzari of Dayton, Jessica Makris, Peter Makris and Kathleen Loukides, and great-grandchildren, Colin and Katrina Kanzari and Jonah and Andrew Ackerson.
Dad, grandpa and great-grandpa enjoyed working on cars, golf, his dogs and, most of all, he enjoyed his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Memorial services will be private. The family asks that a donation to Cystic Fibrosis, in Jack’s name, be made in lieu of flowers.
Margaret Lucille Fugate Evans
Died: Saturday, June 07, 2003
Age: 59
Lucy Evans, 59, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 4 p.m. Lucy was born on Sept. 22, 1943, in Cedarville, Ohio, the daughter of James and Ora (Carroll) Shaw.
Lucy is survived by four children, DeAnn (Fugate) Fernatt and Alan Divirgilio of Kissimmee, Florida, Denise (Fugate) Miller and Ron Miller of Xenia, Dwayne Fugate and Tracy Flynn of Xenia, Daron Fugate and Tracy Robinson of Quincy, Ohio. Lucy is also survived by seven grandchildren, Robin Lucinda (Miller) Trimbach and Patrick Trimbach of Cedarville, Anthony Caine Fernatt, Uriah Caine Fernatt and James Alan Divirgilio of Kissimmee, Florida, Casey Lynn Miller of Xenia, Dwayne Thomas Fugate of Xenia and Zane Colton Fugate of Quincy.
Lucy is survived by one great-granddaughter, Sydney Nicole Trimbach of Cedarville. Lucy is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Jack and Myrnie Hertenstein of Lynchburg, Ohio, Bob and Barbara Burba of Jamestown, Ohio, James L. Shaw and Sheryl Shaw of Xenia, Wanda Wilmoth and Frank Cooper of Xenia, Dan and Connie Branham of Lynchburg, Ohio, Ruth Maynard of Kissimmee, Florida, and Dwayne and Connie Tackett of Yellow Springs.
Lucy leaves a very close friend, Sharon Goldsberry of Waynesville, Ohio, and many nieces, nephews, and friends in and around the Xenia and Cedarville area.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ora Shaw; three sisters, Juanita, Donna, and Nona; one brother, Joe; one granddaughter, Taylor E. Fugate; and a special friend, Sid Pemberton.
Lucy was cremated according to her wishes and a Memorial Service will be held at the gravesite on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the North Cemetery in Cedarville. Lucy will be laid to rest beside her sisters, Juanita and Nona; her parents, James and Ora Shaw; and her grandparents, Jacob and Mary Shaw.

Helen M. Crook, age 85, formerly of 2072 Republican Drive in Fairborn, died on Friday, June 6, 2003, at the Day Springs Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at the Thorson Funeral Home (1-800-657-6741) in Viroqua, Wisconsin, with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Dianne (Jim) Hendrickson of Fairborn; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.
Pamela Kay Gordon
Died: Friday, June 06, 2003
Age: 38
Pamela Kay Gordon, 38, Xenia, passed away Friday evening, June 6, 2003, at Greene Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 29, 1965, in Xenia, the daughter of Charles E. and Dora Mae Kerns Phillips.
She was employed at Greenewood Manor and Liberty Nursing Center. She was loved by her co-workers, residents of the nursing homes and her neighbors. She was greatly appreciated and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew J. "Jack" Gordon, whom she married June 13, 1981; three daughters and a son-in-law, Tosha and Randy Dice, Cindy Gordon, and Jackie Gordon; two grandchildren, Makaya Gordon and Randy J. Dice; her mother, Dora Mae Phillips, all of Xenia; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie Phillips, Dayton, Cheryl and John Hoskins, Hillsboro, Diana and Phillip Kearney, Xenia, Kimberly Maynard, Springfield, and Tammy Rae and James Edwards, Xenia; a brother, John W. Phillips, Dayton; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Kathy and Richard Jackson, Xenia. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Charles E. Phillips Jr.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor David McClellan officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Lillian Teague

Age: 60
Lillian (Kegley) Teague, age 60, of Enon, passed away Friday, June 6, 2003 in her residence. She was born Dec. 4, 1942 in Morehead, Kentucky, the daughter of Thurman and Lillian Maverine (Whitt) Kegley.
She was a member of the Community Tabernacle Church of Fairborn.
Preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by three sons, Randy Teague, and wife Anita of Florida, Tommy Teague of Fairborn, Jimmy Teague, and wife Robin of Dayton; her father, Thurman Kegley, and wife June; five grandchildren, Brandi Teague, Latisha Teague, Kaitlin Teague, Randy Teague II, Amanda Teague; her great-granddaughter, Makailin Teague; three brothers, Glenn Kegley, and wife Ardena, Reginal Kegley, and Lee Roy Kegley, all of Fairborn; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday June 9, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Belton Funeral Home, Fairborn, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Reverend Don Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery.

enia, passed away Friday, June 6, 2003 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on May 14, 1950 in Huntingburg, Indiana the daughter of Leroy and Adlyn (Opel) Zehr.
Sherry was a loving housewife, mother and friend. She enjoyed her outdoors, farming, gardening and Bingo. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband in July 2000, Roger Paul Richards whom she married on June 10, 1985; a sister, Tammy Jane "Engle" Brown; a brother, Michael Zehr.
She is survived by a daughter, Christie Jennings of Xenia; two brothers, Pat (Brenda) Zehr of Jamestown and Sam (Theresa) Zehr of Dubois, Ind.; two sisters, Linda (Charlie) Blessinger of Jasper, Ind. and Karen (Jim) Rasche of Dubois, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Mill Zehr and her daughter, Lindsey, of Ind.; special friends, Patti and Brad Chaney of Xenia; and her dog, Benson; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday June 9, 2003 at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Massie Creek Cemetery, Cedarville.

Claude G. Carpenter
Died: Friday, June 06, 2003
Age: 83
Claude G. "Gerry" Carpenter, 83 of 16680 TR 190 Mt. Blanchard and formerly of Middletown, Ohio passed away at 6:54 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay. He was born July 23, 1919 in Lynchburg, Ohio to Claude D. and Georgia Nell (Henderson) Carpenter.
He married Barbara A. (Ingram-Anthony) in 1989 and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Lonnie (Sarah) Carpenter of Xenia, Ohio, Phil (Debra Alge) Anthony of Mt. Blanchard; four daughters, Sherry (Chuck Walker) Woods of Kerrville, Texas, Jerry Lynn (Mickey Blanton) Strassburger of Middletown, Ohio, Deborah (Greg) Beckwith of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Jan (Rick) Rodabaugh of Mt. Blanchard; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Scott Strassburger; one brother, William Carpenter; and one sister, Katherine Carpenter.
He was a retired plant manager and sales representative for Hoover (Superior) Steel Ball. He served in the United States Army Air Corps active in WWII as a pilot in the South Pacific.
Mr. Carpenter was a member of the Middletown American Legion, VFW and Elks and enjoyed wood working.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Crates Funeral Home in Arlington with Pastor Karen Fourman presiding. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Gardens Monday, June 9, 2003 at 2 p.m. with full military graveside rites being conducted.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services of Hancock County of the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church in his memory.
