Age: 15
Joshua John Thompson, 15, of Fairborn passed away Thursday, July 24, 2003 in his residence. He was born June 10, 1988 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Preston John and Deborah (Turner) Thompson.
He was to be a sophomore at Fairborn High School. Joshua was a member of the Greene County Fish and Game Club.
He is survived by his parents, Preston and Debbie Thompson; three sisters, Sherry Faye Thompson of Fairborn, Susan Marie Dickinson of LaFollette, Tennessee, and Roxanne Igo of Dayton, Ohio; his paternal grandmother, Arlene Thompson of Fairborn; a special aunt, Flo Turner of Fairborn; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Cecil Charles Thompson; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Vinson and America Turner; and a aunt, Sherry Ann Thompson.
Friends may call in the Believer’s Hope Church of God, 1810 North Blvd., Fairborn, Ohio Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Alice Turner Cemetery in Talbert, Kentucky on Wednesday.

Chester Irvin Miller
Died: Thursday, July 24, 2003
Reverend Chester Irvin Miller received his heavenly invitation at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003 in his residence in London. He was born March 17, 1917 at Slabfork, Decatur Twp., Lawrence County, OH, the sixth child of Rev. Samuel Wilson Miller and Daisy Altman Miller.
He attended Holmes Missionary Training Institute (now Holmes Bible College) in Greenville, SC. He went to Brazil, So. America in 1941 to serve as a missionary for the Pentecostal Church of Christ.
He married Rachel H. Yarborough (whom he met at Holmes) on Dec. 11, 1945 in Recife, Brazil. They had two daughters born in Brazil, and two sons born in West Virginia.
They returned to the USA in 1954 to serve in the leadership role (General Overseer for 28 years) for the denomination, whose headquarters are now located in London, OH. Their love for God, missions, and Brazil continued until their death.
Rev. Miller was an Ordained Minister in his faith for over 60 years and was a retired Missionary to Brazil where he organized the church. A retired professor of Theology at Beulah Heights Bible College in Atlanta, GA, where he held an honorary Ph.D., Rev. Miller also was a member of the Madison County Genealogical Society and authored two genealogical books.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Annie (Trent) Frew, the widow of missionary Russell Frew; daughters and son-in-law, Daisy Ruth and Rev. Richard W. Blevins of Springfield, OH and Edith Keren Anderson of Marysville, OH; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Samuel Brooks (Connie) Miller of Jamestown, OH and Lee Allen (Debby) Miller of Waynesville, OH; his eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; step-children, Joanna (Herman) Lewis of Enon, OH, Lawrence Russell (Esther) Frew of Springfield, OH and Gary Marvin (Dawn) Frew of Dayton, OH; 11 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Miller, John Miller, Forrest Miller and Paul Miller; sisters, Goldie Hall and Florence Oliver; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 36 years, Rachel (Yarborough) Miller; son-in-law, Billy Jo Anderson; brothers, Floyd Miller and Elmer Miller; and sisters, Carrie Guinn, Stella Sibole and Rosabelle Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Rachel Miller Memorial Tabernacle at the Conference Grounds of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ in London with Dr. Horace S. Ward of Easton, MD officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery, London.
Friends may call at the Tabernacle from 5-9 p.m. Saturday. Per Rev. Miller’s own request, the family asks that flowers be omitted entirely, and that memorial donations be made to the Global Missions Department, PO Box 439, London, Ohio 43140 or to the Chester and Rachel Miller Missions Foundation, 1425 Marinette Dr., Springfield, Ohio 45503.

Walter H. Claypool Jr.
Died: Thursday, July 24, 2003
Age: 35
Walter H. Claypool Jr., 35, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday morning at his residence. He was born June 28, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Walter H. and Catherine (Baynar) Claypool Sr.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a self-employed carpet installer and former EMT with the Jamestown/Silvercreek Fire Dept.
He is survived by his parents and his fiancee, Donna Graves, all of Jamestown.
Prayers will be recited Sunday 12:45 p.m. at the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown, where friends may call Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. Visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. will be at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City, Pa.
Services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at Christ Prince of Peace Church in Ford City, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown/Silvercreek Fire Dept., 3 N. Sycamore St., Jamestown, Ohio 45335.
Robert William Nelson
Died: Thursday, July 24, 2003
Age: 82
Robert William Nelson, 82, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2003. He was born in Joliet, Ill., on Jan. 19, 1921, the son of Herbert and Hazel (Robinson) Nelson.
Mr. Nelson was an Army veteran of WWII. He was retired from Marine Bank in Springfield, Ill., after 30 years as an auditor.
He was a member at Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of the Elks Lodge in Xenia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mimi McComb.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jocelyn (Watt) Nelson, whom he married on Aug. 10, 1946; children and their spouses, Donna (Richard) Karney of Houston, TX, Robert (Carey) Nelson of Yellow Springs, OH, and Mark (Julie) Nelson of Earlville, IL; a sister, Beverly Crowley of IL; grandchildren, Rachel (Mark) Nadal, Layla (Gery) Deer, Rebecca Nelson and Ethan Nelson; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney Nadal; several extended family members and friends.
Interment and memorial service will be in Dayton National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio 45385.

Bonnie Ann Kennedy
Died: Tuesday, July 22, 2003
Age: 61
Bonnie Ann Kennedy, 61, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away at Well Star Hospice on July 22, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her father, B.F. Corley; step-father, Kyle Mullins; and brother, Nick Mullins.
She is survived by five children, Kyletta (Adams) Dyer, Vicki Loden, Chuck Kennedy, Stephanie Kennedy of Georgia and Mell Grantham of Florida; and nine grandchildren.
Her mother is Kathrine Mullins, Xenia; sisters, Marcia Mullins, Va., Shelby Reichley, Spring Valley, Virginia Stiffler, Hillsboro; and brother, Ted Mullins, Xenia.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many special friends. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Russe Daisley
Died: Monday, July 21, 2003
Age: 83
Russel Daisley, 83, of Shawnee Hills, Jamestown, passed away Monday afternoon at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on April 7, 1920, the son of Clarence A. and Bessie (Collins) Daisley.
He was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite in Dayton.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Gary Bicking of Jamestown, and a sister, Winifred Neff of Dayton.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Elizabeth Anne Fehl
Died: Wednesday, August 20, 2003
Age: 77
Elizabeth Anne Fehl, 77, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday morning, August 20, 2003, at Miami Valley Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on November 4, 1925, in Nebraska. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Xenia.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John E. Fehl Sr., their three children, Janie Bogan, Susan and John E. Fehl Jr. and his wife JoAnne.
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Eric and wife Dana Bogan of Las Vegas, NV; Brendan Bogan and wife Michelle of Las Vegas, NV; Gregory and wife Pok Soon Bogan of Wilmington; Jim and wife Tammy Konicki of Cincinnati; Don and wife Tara Konicki of Cincinnati; Jennifer Poppaw of Dayton and Lori Fehl of Xenia.
She is also survived by three step-great-grandchildren, Joanna, Jenny and Julie Rocheleau, two great-grandchildren, Brent Bogan and Dawn Konicki and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Fehl.
There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association or the local animal humane society will be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. She was loved by all.
