Joel M. Summers, age 27, of Bellbrook, passed away Friday, August 15, 2003.
Joel was employed at Western Southern Life Insurance Company and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
He graduated from Bellbrook High School and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by one aunt, Priscilla Swab.
He is survived by his parents, Steven and Theresa Summers of Bellbrook; brother David Summers of Fairborn; grandparents Victor W. and Mary Jane Smith and Jack and Glenna Summers, all of Dayton; aunts and uncles Robert and Carol Smith, Mary and Mike Higgins, Victor and Alexa Smith, all of Centerville, Debrah and Jeffrey Hempel of Springboro, Tina Black of Georgia, Doug and Jillora Summers of Lebanon, Cindy and John Marohl of Pennsylvania, and Janet and Charlie Rupp of Centerville; many cousins and friends; and his dog Boomer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Father Tom Schmidt is officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Tobias-Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St. (Route 725), Bellbrook.
If desired, contributions may be made to the Tony Ernst Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Antonia Kindl
Died: Saturday, October 04, 2003
Age: 95
Antonia "Tony" Kindl, 95, of Xenia, passed away Saturday evening, October 4, 2003, at her residence. She was born September 8, 1908, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Franz and Antonia Plhak Peschek.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Kenneth Sanders, of Xenia, with whom she made her home, granddaughter and her husband, Christina and Mike Baker, of Jamestown, great-grandson, Austin Cyphers, and dear friend, Wanda Gesell, of Xenia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt Kindl, in 1986, a daughter, Elfriede Kindl, a son, Hermann Kindl, three sisters and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., with Rev. Isaac Flora officiating. Graveside committal will follow service at Woodland Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, P.O. Box 3509, Dayton, Ohio 45401-3509.

Lucia Hutchins
Died: Saturday, October 04, 2003
Age: 91
Lucia "Ruth" Hutchins, 91, passed away at her home on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Forrest A. Hutchins; along with two stepsons, Forrest Jr. and Robert Hutchins. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Ralph and Richard J. Fager; and sisters, Viola Marie Byrd, Gertrude Croft and Anna Louise Fager.
Ruth and Forrest were joint owners of "Hutchins Oil," where she stayed active as the bookkeeper.
She attended both the Northside Christian Church and The Way of the Cross and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Ernest (and Debbie) Hutchins, Daniel (and Connie) Hutchins, and stepsons, Russell and John Hutchins. Ruth is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Wieler, Stephanie Lynn Stifler, Daniel D. Hutchins, David R. Hutchins, Deborah S. Atkinson, Dawn Herron, Wendy Love, Joseph Forrest and Farron Carl; along with 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, her brother, Lester Paul Fager, three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Tobias Funeral Home - Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave.
Brother Isaac Flora and Brother William Loudermilk Jr. are officiating.
Internment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, also at the funeral home.

Patsy Jo Nickell
Died: Saturday, October 04, 2003
Age: 63
Patsy Jo "Pat" Nickell, age 63, of Huber Heights, formerly of Fairborn, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, in Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Paintsville, Ky., the daughter of Russell and Mabel (Preston) Williams.
Pat retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 28 years of faithful service.
She was a member of the New Carlisle Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, James "Bud" Nickell; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mike McGowan of Huber Heights; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Deborah Nickell of Fairborn; two sisters, Betty McKinney of Woodhaven, Mich., and Marie and Harley Allison of Holiday, Fla.; four grandchildren, Tadd Woodie, Eric Nickell, Jessica McGowan and Nicholas McGowan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Ray McKinney.
Friends may call in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Faith Hill Church of God, 100 Vanderbilt Drive, Fairborn, Ohio, with the Rev. Mark Long and Rev. Danny Pratt officiating.
Burial will be in Byron Cemetery.
Ernest H Ward
Died: Friday, October 03, 2003
Age: 50
Ernest H. Ward, age 50, of Fairborn, passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, in the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1952, in Logan, W.Va., the son of Samuel and Betty (McNealy) Ward.
Ernest was employed as a service technician for Ikon Office Machines and was also an active member of the Fairborn S.A.Y. Soccer Association.
Survivors include his loving wife of 14 years, Dawn Ward; a daughter, Brittany Ward; two sons, David and Jeremy Ward of Mansfield; his parents, Samuel and Betty Ward of Mansfield; a granddaughter; father and mother-in-law, Ron and Ann Shinkle of Fairborn; sister-in-law Kim (Chris) Cornwell of Dayton; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at noon in the Belton Funeral Home, Fairborn. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Heart Association in Ernest’s memory.
Earl Gene Johnson
Died: Friday, October 03, 2003
Age: 68
Earl Gene Johnson, age 68 of Fairborn passed away Friday October 3, 2003 in Miami Valley Hospital. He was born October 8, 1934 in Morehead, Kentucky the son of the late Shelby and Alpha (Black) Johnson.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Johnson retired from General Motors and after his retirement he became a farmer raising cattle and hay. He was a member of the Yankee Road First Church of God and attended Maple Heights Baptist Church.
He was also an active member of the Fairborn Masonic Lodge 764 F. & A.M. Earl loved music and played and sang with the Gospel Echoes.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 40 years, Shirley Johnson, a son, Darin E. Johnson of Fairborn, a brother and sister-in-law, Roger G. and Anita Johnson of Middletown, Ohio, an uncle, Lowell K. Johnson of Fairborn, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lonnie Johnson, and a sister, Shirley Kinder.
Friends may call in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. with Masonic Services at 5 p.m.
Additional services and burial will be held at Northcutt & Son Funeral Home in Morehead, Kentucky where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Morehead, Ky.
