Wesley R. Henrikson Sr.

Age: 92
Wesley R. Henrikson Sr., age 92, formerly of 24 Sunset Drive, Shelby, died Saturday morning, August 2, 2003, at Friends Care Center in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Mr. Henrikson was born April 26, 1911, in Belleville, New Jersey, the son of the late Wesley Emanuel and Karin Regina (Eklof) Henrikson.
He retired as a manufacturer’s representative for the Alabama Pipe Company. Wes was a Charter member of the East Millstone Rescue Squad in East Millstone, N.J. He was a former member of the American Society of Sanitary Engineers, Shelby A.A.R.P., where he was an officer, and Shelby Country Club. He was active with the Junior Achievement program in Shelby for many years.
During his retirement years, Wes worked at Shelby Senior High School as a teacher’s aide and was an active employee of the Athletic Department. He attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Henrikson is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gerry and Jim Coen of Fairborn, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley R. Jr., and Sally Henrikson of Northville, Mich.; four grandchildren, Andy Coen of Fairborn, Carrie (Chris) Sullivan of Jersey City, N.J., Holly (Denis) Hayes of Lewisville, Texas, and Suzi (Albert) Tapia of Oak Park, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Jack Hayes and Abby Hayes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Dyleski Henrikson, in March of 1994, by a brother, Leroy, and a sister, Margaret.
Friends may call on Monday, August 4, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Judy Boland
Died: Saturday, August 02, 2003
Age: 58
Judy Boland, 58, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday evening at Greene Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Scioto County, Ohio, Feb. 16, 1945, the daughter of Billy Joe and Marcella Mae (Collignon) Jones.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and an employee of Jordan’s Super Valu in Jamestown.
She is survived by her parents, Billy and Marcella Jones of Xenia, husband Roger Boland of Jamestown, daughters Sherri (Steve) Irvin and Stacy (Jaret) Bishop of Jamestown, son David (Retha) Boland of Xenia, granddaughter Kali Irvin and another future grandchild, sister Pat Jackowski, brother Edwin (Teresa) Jones, both of Dayton, half-brothers Kent Riley of Xenia and Terry Riley of Centerville, and a half-sister, Karen Arnold of Loveland. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian S. Boland.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jamestown. Prayers will be recited at 5 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown, where friends may call until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sandy Springs Cemetery, Adams County, Ohio.

Ada A. McKay
Died: Saturday, August 02, 2003
Age: 82
Ada A. McKay, 82, Wilmington, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 2, 2003, at Wilmington Nursing and Rehab. Center. She was born November 2, 1920, in Clinton County, the daughter of Harry and Eva Bryan Atkinson. She and her husband lived in Chester Township, where they engaged in farming all of their married
life. She was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church, where she was active in church activities, member of the New Burlington Chapter #363, Order of the Eastern Star, where she was former Worthy Matron, volunteered for the Chester Township New Burlington Fire & Life Squads, involved in building the Majestic Springs Golf Course, graduate of Kingman High School in 1938 and attended Wilmington College for two years. Formerly worked at OS & SO Home and McClelland Hospital. She was always lending a helping hand to family, friends or neighbors.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbur E. McKay, whom she married
February 5, 1949 (54 years), her five children and spouses, Priscilla and Roger Vaughan, David McKay, Thomas and Debbie McKay, Steve and Roseanne McKay, and Roger McKay, eight grandchildren, Bryan Vaughan, Melissa Ellis, David McKay, Sarah McKay, Ben McKay, Spencer McKay, Roger McKay, and Wayne McKay, seven great-grandchildren, Alexandria Vaughan, Cameron Vaughan, Kaitlin Osborn, Bryson McKay, Caden McKay, Marci Ellis and Michael Allen McKay, a stepgranddaughter, Kendra McKay, and her sister, Virginia Greisheimer, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Atkinson, and four sisters, Ruth Kelly, Clara Zurface, Leola Gray and Mary Green.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Stephen J. Beach and Rev. John W. Beers Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, where an Eastern Star Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery. Clara J. Dixon
Died: Friday, August 01, 2003
Age: 93
Clara J. Dixon, 93, of Chillicothe, died at 6:21 a.m. Friday in Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness.
She was born April 13, 1910, in Ross County to William M. and Cora M. Bayless Wingo. On May 27, 1928, she married
Ellsworth Dixon, who died in 1990.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce J. Harris, Naomi Bunch, and Janice Henry; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Tanner and Elizabeth Wingo; and a special brother-in-law, James Tanner. She was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Dixon was a member of Zion Baptist Church and the Zion Loyal Club. She had retired from the housekeeping department of the Chillicothe Hospital in 1974 after 25 years of service.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Zion Baptist Church, with Wayne McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Haller Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Douglas Martin Brannum Sr.
Died: Thursday, July 31, 2003
Age: 46
Douglas Martin Brannum Sr., age 46, of Fairborn, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2003, in his residence.
He was born on January 22, 1957, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of the late Martin L. and Rosina (Aiello) Brannum.
He was employed with Time Warner Cable and a member of Mary Help of Christians Church.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Theresa Brannum; a son, Douglas Martin Brannum Jr.; a daughter, Laura Grace Brannum; two sisters, Phyllis. J. Davidson of Fairborn, Patricia A. DellaMea of Pennsylvania; three nephews, Michael (Christina) Burton, David (Kristine) Burton, Robert (Tammy) Burton; two nieces, Jennifer and Sabrina DellaMea; two great-nephews, Spencer Burton, Kaleb Burton; five great-nieces, Krista Burton, Summer Burton, Danelle Burton, Emily Burton, Erica Burton; his father and mother-in-law, Les and Grace Easton; three sisters-in-law, Brenda, Darla and Linda; two brothers-in-law, Dean and Kevin; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Belton Funeral Home, Fairborn, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Sodders officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
Beacher H. Ferguson

Age: 72
Beacher H. Ferguson, 72, of Jamestown went to be with the Lord on Thursday July 31, 2003. He retired in 1993 from Van Dyne Crotty, Dayton, Ohio, and was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Olga Kelly Ferguson, and by his granddaughter, Bianca Barnett.
He is survived by his wife of 33 1/2 years. Wilma Ferguson, three sons and five daughters, Justin (Terri) Ferguson of Hillsboro, Mike Barnett of Xenia, and David (Linda)) Barnett of Jamestown. Elaine (Gary) Garrison of Sabina, Christina (Rick) Ankeney of Jamestown, Diana Flax of Sugarcreek Township, Jane (Cecil) Meade of Martinsville, Tammy (John) Berger of Fayetteville, 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, five brothers and one sister, Merle Ferguson of Springfield, Dallas Ferguson of Cedarville, Jean (Ralph) Finchum of South Charleston, Bussie (Linda) Ferguson of Cedarville, Ugal (Candice) Ferguson of New Jersey, and Bennie Ferguson of Xenia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Jamestown Church of Christ.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Jamestown Church of Christ and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Jamestown Church of Christ with the funeral following at 11 a.m. Arrangements are with the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Robert E. Beery
Died: Wednesday, July 30, 2003
Age: 83
Robert E. Beery, 83, of 3486 North Drive, (Wayne Lakes) Greenville, OH. passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2003 at Heartland of Greenville. He was born December 1, 1919 in Dayton, KY., son of the late Ray C. and Bess (Strayer) Beery. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a stepbrother, William Powell. Mr. Beery had owned and operated Beery Type Service for 30 years. He was a member of the Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church and had coached tennis for the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department.
He is survived by his wife Gerri (Compton) Beery; two daughters, Sandy S. Beery of Greenville and Robin and husband Dusty Knoef of Columbus, IN.; three grandchildren, Michael Knoef, Gary Knoef and fiancee Danelle Mann and jennifer Knoef; and a great-grandson Tyler R. Knoef.
Services will be held at the Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church, Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Spring Valley cemetery near Xenia.
Visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Oliver Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Ft. Jefferson Church or Hospice of Darke County.
