Daniel T. Maiorano
Died: Tuesday, October 07, 2003
Daniel T. Maiorano, beloved son of John N. and Linda (Lowe) Maiorano, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003. He was born in Springfield on Jan. 22, 1982. He attended Oak Hills High School.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Anthony Maiorano; grandparents, John F. and Carol Maiorano of Fairborn; great-grandmothers, Martha Copeland of Fairborn and Angeline Maiorano of Wilmington, Del., and many loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher J. Maiorano.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Meyer Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Rick Dressman celebrating. Burial will be in Mary Help of Christians cemetery in Fairborn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of Daniel to Recovery Initiative, 2340 Auburn Ave., Suite 2, Cincinnati 45219.
Louise Gilliam

Age: 78
Louise Gilliam, 78, of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2003.
She was born November 23, 1924, in Osaka, Virginia, the daughter of Clyde and Eary (Mason) Mawk.
Louise had worked at the Central School Cafeteria and also at the Kitty Hawk Lanes in the snack bar.
She is survived by a daughter, Lois Kelly of Fairborn, a son, Darrell Gilliam of Fairborn, a sister, Julia Barker of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, grandchildren and spouses, Tonya and Barry Smith, Lisa Gilliam, Darrell Joseph Gilliam, Jake and Kelly Gilliam, Heather and Kris Justice and Stevie Penny, great-grandchildren, Emylee Smith, Tyler Gilliam, Hannah Gilliam and Richard Smith and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jake Gilliam in 1991, a son, Marty Gilliam in 1992, five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St., Fairborn, OH, Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
Dr. Richard A. Falls
Died: Tuesday, October 07, 2003
Age: 75
Dr. Richard A. Falls, MD, 75, Xenia, passed away Tuesday evening, October 7, 2003 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 28, 1928, in Cleveland, the son of Harry Dixon Falls and Mildred Mavis Falls.
He was a graduate of the College of Wooster, 1950, graduate of Case Western Reserve Medical School in 1954. Dr. Falls started his medical practice in Xenia in 1957 and was a member of the Academy of Family Physicians, Ohio State and Greene County Medical Society, Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and active in the church choir, member of
the Hospitality Barbershop Chorus, Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce Board, YMCA Board, Greene Foundation Board, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Brooke-Daykin) Falls, children and spouses, Deborah Anne Falls (C. Gregory) Lockhart, Richmond, VA., Mark David (Dana) Falls, Santa Rosa, CA., and Kathleen Jane Falls (Brian William) Russ, Alexandria, VA., eight grandchildren, Charles Daniel Lockhart, Colin Richard Lockhart, Garrett Falls Lockhart, Travis Emil Falls, Carson Richard Falls, Maya Angelica Falls, Amanda Marie Russ and William Kyle Russ, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Falls, and two nephews, Douglas Falls and David Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Mavis Falls.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday October 18, at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 343 W. Ankeney Mill Rd., Xenia, with Rev. Conley A. Zomermaand officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH., 45420. Neeld Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Myron R. Rupert
Died: Tuesday, October 07, 2003
Age: 83
Myron R. (Rodger) Rupert, 83, a resident of Beavercreek, passed away at the Dayton VA Hospital in Tuesday October 7, 2003 after a prolonged illness. Rodger was born September 10, 1920, in West Liberty, OH., to the late Alva E. and Ina (Mann) Rupert.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Rachel and Patrice; three brothers, Bill, Neal and Dickie.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Benny Bowling, Rachel Beckley, Rayann Mason all of Greenville; Two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodger and Renee Rupert of Chicago, Reigh and Helen Rupert of Crestview, FL.; One step-daughter, Lucy and husband Jim Henry of Beavercreek; three sisters, Cristine Hanenkrat of West Liberty, Celia Stafford of Brookville, Sue and James Hostetler of West Liberty; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodger proudly served in the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the destroyer USS Barney.
He was a pressman at Dayton Press, retiring after 36 years of service.
He was also a member of the West Liberty Presbyterian Church.
Rodger devoted most of his active life to helping his family, friends and neighbors whatever their needs. He will be remembered for his caring attitude and his active sense of humor.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday at the Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd.
Interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, OH.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Robert L. Carter
Died: Tuesday, October 07, 2003
Age: 78
Robert L. Carter, age 78, passed away at his residence in Zanesville, Ohio., on Tuesday October 7, 2003, after a long illness.
He graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1943 and served in the Army Air Corps from November 1943 until November 1945 where he served as a mechanic on P-38 Fighter Bombers in Italy.
He was a Corporal when discharged. He graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He received his CPA certificate in 1960.
From 1951 to 1980 Mr. Carter was employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Zanesville as District Director.
In 1981 he joined the CPA firm of Norman, Jones, Enlow & Co. in Zanesville until 1992. He was a member of the Lafayette Lodge #79 F. & A.M. where he served as secretary from 1973 to 2003, Zanesville Chapter #9 where he was Past High Priest, Zanesville Council #12 Past Illustrious Master, Cyrene Commandery #10 and Knights of the York Cross of Honour. He was a member of the South Zanesville United Methodist Church, Past Commander of American Legion in Nelsonville.
Survivors include: wife, Ruby Jo Daines Carter, whom he married
May 3, 1952. Three children: Dennis L. (Linda) Carter of Xenia, Debra Jo (Larry) Burton of New Philadelphia, David (Rhonda) Carter of Zanesville. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three sisters: June Watkins of Nelsonville, Maxine (Elza) Sapp of Hamilton, Joan (Bill) Cox of Nelsonville, one brother Bernard (Roberta) Carter of Nelsonville, one sister-in-law Ramona Carter of Walkersville, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward R. Carter and Edna B. Hartman Carter, one sister, Alice Irene Carter and one brother, William Carter.
Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday Oct. 9 at the William Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 5765 Gladstone Dr., White Cottage, OH.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joy French and Rev. Orlo Freshly officiating.
Burial will be afterwards at the Connett cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Charles M. Adams
Died: Tuesday, October 07, 2003
Age: 59
Charles M. Adams, 59, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday morning, October 7, 2003, at his residence. He was born April 25, 1944, in Richmond, Kentucky, the son of Charles E. and Grace Edwards Adams.
He retired from Inland Manufacturing in 1986, after 23 years of service. He was the Union representative for the United Rubber Workers Local #87, a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of the New Burlington Masonic Lodge #574, Xenia Chapter #36, R. A. M., Wright Council #96, R. & S. M., and Nathaniel Greene Commandery #81, K.T.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Conn) Adams, whom he married
September 22, 1972, son, Michael F. Adams, daughter, April M. Adams, all of Xenia, brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Deborah Adams, Lewisburg, nephews, Scott Adams and wife, Sylvia, and Brian Adams and wife, Rachel, and a great-niece, Grace Adams.
Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Masonic services will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by graveside services at Valley View Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Phil Harness officiating.
Contributions may be made to the Dayton Antioch Burn and Crippled Children Fund.
