Floreine O. (Hensley) Wantz
Died: Monday, June 30, 2003
Age: 81
Floreine "Rene" O. (Hensley) Wantz, 81, of Beavercreek, died suddenly at home on Monday, June 30, 2003. She was born Nov. 12, 1921, the daughter of Florence and Chester Hensley.
Preceded in death by two-year-old son, Brent, in 1950 and brother Robert in recent years.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin "Pete," married
58 years; and daughters, Terry (Dan) Casparro, Dublin, Ohio, Brenda (John) Myers, Debbie (Larry) Bryant, both of Beavercreek; six grandchildren, Brian and Brent Casparro, Jeremy (Serena) and Jesse Thompson, Todd and Lindsy Bryant; also survived by sister-in-law Nevella Rodgers of Centerville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She will be missed by her beloved dog, Apollo. She was a 1939 graduate of Stivers High School and was employed at W.P.A.F.B. during WWII.
She returned to work after the births of her four children as a bookkeeper/accountant for Lofino’s Inc., where she retired.
She was a former choir member of Oak Creek United Church of Christ for many years, past member of Eastern Star, and current member of Christian Women’s League of Greater Dayton and her Pinochle card club.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2003, at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Ln., Kettering, Pastor Todd Grant Yonkman officiating.
Burial in Hillgrove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Evelyn Cozatt
Died: Monday, June 30, 2003
Age: 86
Evelyn Cozatt, 86, of Xenia passed away Monday, June 30, 2003 at Quaker Heights Nursing Home, Waynesville. She retired from Grafton-Kennedy Public Schools after 30 years of teaching.
Her husband, Paul, and two brothers, McKay and James Goode, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two nieces, Deborah and her husband Andrew Jerison of Yellow Springs and Carolyn and her husband John Paul Jones of Marietta, and two nephews, David and his wife Elizabeth Goode of Yellow Springs and James and his wife Rebecca Heskamp-Goode of NC.
Graveside service 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Jing Chow officiating.

Grace M. Clevinger
Died: Sunday, June 29, 2003
Age: 71
Grace M. Clevinger, 71, of Fairborn, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2003, at the Patriot Ridge Community. She was born on March 26, 1932, in Waterloo, Alabama, the daughter of the late Boy and Mag (Ledgewood) Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jaques Clevinger in 2002, and a daughter-in-law, Jody Clevinger earlier this year.
She is survived by two sons, David Clevinger, and wife Rebecca of Fairborn, Doug Clevinger of Fairborn; one daughter, Donyea Abreu of Fairborn; a brother, Alvin of Alabama; three sisters, Murray of Texas, Nerva of Sandusky, Janice of Colorado; four grandsons, Jason Clevinger, Jonathan Lemaster, Justin Clevinger, Garrett Clevinger; two granddaughters, Carissa Hart, Meagan Clevinger; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Grace at the convenience of the family. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Belton Funeral Home, Fairborn.
Daniel L. McGrew
Died: Sunday, June 29, 2003
Age: 49
Daniel L. McGrew, 49, Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born June 28, 1954, in Dayton, the son of Harry and Wanda Monroe McGrew.
He was employed at Enterprise Roofing & Sheet Metal.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Shaw) McGrew, whom he married, June 9, 1979; two sons, Daniel McGrew and Max McGrew, both of Beavercreek; mother-in-law, Frances Shaw, Xenia; aunt, Jerri Harney, Beavercreek; and his beloved dog, "Sparky." He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Timothy McGrew.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Miranda Kay Kelly
Died: Sunday, June 29, 2003
Age: 18
Miranda Kay Kelly, 18, of Xenia, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. She was born on Jan. 8, 1985 in Clinton County, Ohio, and she is the daughter of Philip and Darla (Baker) Carl.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ken and Beverly Baker and a grandfather, William O. Kelly.
Miranda was a 2003 graduate of Xenia High School. While in school she was a cheerleader from fifth grade until 2001.
She enjoyed working at Perkins Restaurant for the past two years and was planning on attending Sinclair Community College in the fall to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Miranda is survived by her parents, Darla and Philip Carl of Xenia; her best friend and sister and brother-in-law, Jessica and Clint Miller of Xenia; her biological father, William C. (Lora) Kelly of Hillsboro; grandparents, Carol and Gerald Butler of Blanchester and Lewis W. Sr. and Lora Mae Carl of Fairborn; aunts and uncles, Tonya Baker of Kettering, Bill Baker of Alabama, Karlene Motter of Xenia, Lewis (Jane) Carl of Jamestown, Steven Carl of Cedarville, Alice (Chris) Gilaugh of Cedarville, Ted (Tracy) Carl of Bowersville, Dan Carl of Centerville, Annette (Lanny) Fidler of Xenia and Pat (Joe) Justison of Blanchester; step-brothers and a
sister, Matthew, Logan, Mitch and Morgan Kelly of Hillsboro; a special friend, Becky Porter of Yellow Springs; and several cousins and many special friends.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Faith Community Church, 100 Country Club Dr., Xenia with Pastor R. James "Pete" Creamer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, July 2, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be at Valley View Memorial Garden.

Robert C. Lickliter Jr.

Age: 75
Robert C. Lickliter Jr., 75, of Beavercreek, died Sunday, June 29, 2003. at Hospice of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Robert Lickliter Sr., and one sister, Inez Stahl.
He is survived by his wife, Peg; one daughter, Janet (Harry) Bourne; one son, Robert III (Tammy) Lickliter; one sister, Eloise Luthman; and one brother-in-law, Jim Stahl; five granddaughters, Sarah and Erin Bourne, Crystal, Melanie and Deanna Lickliter; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Anthony and Lee Bourne; one niece, Nancy (Michael) Mott.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Morris-Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Ln., Kettering. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
Billy C. Harlan
Died: Sunday, June 29, 2003
Age: 67
Billy C. Harlan, 67, of Fairborn, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2003, at the Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on Oct. 11, 1935, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, the son of the late Wick R. and Jesse (Carter) Harlan.
Mr. Harlan was a retired systems engineer from Wright-Patterson AFB. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky, his master’s degree from the University of Dayton, where he continued to attend classes until the time of his death.
Memberships include Fairborn St. Luke United Methodist Church, UK Alumni Association, Aviation Trails, Sertoma, Fairborn FISH, and American Legion Dignam-Whitmore Post 526.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda Harlan in 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ginger Harlan; two sons, Dr. William C. Harlan and wife Tamera of Fairborn, John C. Harlan of Dayton; his stepson, Tom E. Schloss and wife, Melissa; stepdaughter, Suzanne Orndorff and husband Rob of Dayton; 12 grandchildren; his great-grandson; a brother, Wick R. Harlan Jr. and wife Joyce of Virginia; a sister, Elizabeth Willett of Kentucky; his "anything but bridge group" family; as well as other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairborn St. Luke United Methodist Church, 100 N. Broad Street, Fairborn, with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Belton Funeral Home, Fairborn. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the church or Fairborn FISH, in his memory.
Billy gave everyone who knew him the gift of friendship.
