Fred E. Porter
Fred E. Porter, 62, Barnesville, formerly of Flushing died July 29, 2002 at the Barnesville Health Care Center.
He was born June 13, 1940 in Moorefield and the son of the late Ralph Ellsworth Porter and Evelyn Nichols Porter.
He was retired and a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving in addition to his mother Evelyn Porter are two sons Tim and wife Debbie Porter of Harrisville and Jim and wife Robin Porter of Columbus; sister Mrs. Harold (Elaine) George of Barnesville; and four grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home 702 East Main Street, Barnesville where services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. Burial follows in Moorefield Cemetery.

Mary M. Hennen
Mary M. Hennen, 86, Peoria, Arizona, formerly of Cadiz, died July 26, 2002 in Peoria, Az.
She was born April 12, 1916 in Nottingham Township, Harrison County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank G. Mallernee and Olive Blanche Garner.
She was a retired clerk for Harrison County Selective Service Board, a member of Scott United Methodist Church and member of the former Esther-Rebecca Circle. She was a member of Harrison Community Hospital Auxiliary, where she was a volunteer for many years; and a graduate of Cadiz High School in 1933.
She was preceded in death by husband, Howard Hennen; parents; brother Harold Mallernee; and a step-sister Frances Smith.
Surviving are a son Phillip Hennen of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; daughter Rita Amado of Peoria, Az.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a niece Arlene Roberts of North Carolina.
Calling hours are Wednesday, July 31, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz. Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at the Scott United Methodist Church, 817 E. Market Street, Cadiz with the Rev. Robert Hooker officiating.
Burial in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.

Ross V. Heavilin
Ross V. Heavilin, 74, Cadiz, died July 29, 2002 at Trinity West, Steubenville.
He was born Sept. 29, 1927 in Harrison County, Ohio, a son of the late Vincent F. Heavilin and Martha Ross Heavilin.
He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Asbury Chapel of the United Methodist Church, Cadiz and a member of the Harrison County Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death his parents.
Surviving are his wife Martha Wehrs Heavilin; and a sister Oma Jean Heavilin of Louisville, Ohio.
Calling hours are Wednesday, July 31, 6-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz. Service will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Hibbs officiating. Burial in Hines Cemetery, Cadiz.

Sara Blackburn Carman
Sara Blackburn Carman, 81, of Hopedale, Ohio died Thursday evening, July 25, at Harrison Community Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Hopedale on March 11, 1921 and was the daughter of the late George and Maude Parks Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard and three brothers, Ralph, Wilbur and Raymond Blackburn. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Fellows and husband Roland of Ithaca, New York; a son Chester of Hopedale; one grandson, Nathan Fellows of Ithaca, New York; two brothers, Paul Blackburn and his wife Ruth of Cadiz and Doyle Blackburn and his wife Lois of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.
Sara graduated from the Hopedale High School and from the beautician's school in Pittsburgh, Pa. During WWII, she worked in the Naval Offices in Washington, D.C. in Admiral Byrd's office. She married Howard Carman on Oct. 12, 1949 and the two were married over 52 years.
She was a member of the Unionport Eastern Star for over 50 years, a member of the 62 'Doers, a former member of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church and attended the Scott Memorial Church in Cadiz.
Friends may call at the Blackburn Funeral Home, 324 High St., Hopedale on Sunday, July 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with Eastern Star Services there at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 29 at 2 p.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at the Bloomingdale Cemetery.
Pauline E. Rea
Pauline E. Rea, 82, Cary, N.C., formerly of Cadiz, died July 2, 2002 in Raleigh, N.C.
She was born Aug. 10, 1919 in Tuscarawas County and the daughter of late Thomas and Mary Scott Errington.
She belonged to the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz and the Cadiz American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Rea; her parents; one sister, Donna Lee Adams; one brother, Harry "Bud" Errington; and an infant brother, Kenneth Errington.
Surviving are one daughter and a son-in-law, Patricia and Ray Dawkins of Cary, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Bethany Dawkins of Cary, N.C.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Cadiz Union Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 274, Cadiz, OH 43907.
Brian "Richard" Williams
Brian "Richard" Williams, 42, Sherrodsville, died Nov. 25, 2002 in Aultman Hospital, Canton after a long illness.
He was born March 23, 1960, the son of the late James and Alberta Williams.
A printer by trade, he was an U.S. Army veteran. He loved to spend his time fishing and enjoyed living in the country.
Surviving are his wife Virginia B. "Ginny" Manz Williams; a brother, James Williams of Scio; and a half-brother Christopher Williams of Neptune City, N.J.
In accordance with his wishes, there was no service and the body will be cremated. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home, Sherrodsville was in charge of arrangements.
George Lewis Madzia
George Lewis Madzia, 62, Adena, died Nov. 25, 2002.
He was born June 22, 1940 in Adena, a son of the late Michael and Violet (Drydek) Madzia.
He was the former owner and operator of George's Shell/Citgo Service Station in Adena for 40 years. He was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church in Adena and an avid golfer at the Cadiz Country Club. He was also a former member of the Adena Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Sandra Masloski Madzia; sons Kevin George of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Jeffrey Allen and wife Marianne and grandchildren, Juliana Linnea, 7 and Alex William, 3 1/2 of St. Clairsville; two brothers Mike and wife Judy Madzia and Phillip and wife Barbara Madzia of Cadiz; mother-in-law Vivian Masloski; a brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Connie Crothers of Adena and a brother-in-law, Sigmund James and Kathy Masloski of Columbus; six nephews Scott, Don and Derek Madzia, Brad and Cliff Crothers; two nieces Michelle Coffland and Dana Nameth.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 3-9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena. Vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. Casimirs Catholic Church, Adena with Msgr. John Kolesar as celebrant. Burial will follow at Seeder Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
