Stella Marie Croak
Stella Marie Croak, 99, of North Canton, formerly of Cadiz, died May 19, 2005.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where friends may call from 7-8 p.m.

Roger W. Miller
Roger W. Miller, 82, Hopedale, died Mar. 22, 2006 in Middleburgh Heights, Ohio.
He was born Dec. 26, 1923 in New Philadelphia, a son of the late Oscar and Bessie Aubihl Miller Gartrell.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Aircorp. He was a radio operator on bombers from England and France over to Germany. He was a longtime member and secretary/treasurer for the Hopedale Lions Club, member of the Hopedale VFW and the Hopedale United Methodist Church. Until recently he had been an avid bowler. He was a retired mechanic from the Rish Equipment Company of Hopedale and had worked for several years at the Polen Coal Company.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Carroll Miller and a sister-in-law Hazel Miller.
He is survived by a daughter Barbara Robinson of Berea, Ohio; granddaughter Julie and husband Larry Swartz of Berea; great-grandson Owen David Swartz.
Friends may call at the Blackburn Funeral Home at 324 High Street in Hopedale, Sunday, Mar. 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Service will be held at the Hopedale United Methodist Church in Hopedale at 11 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 27 with the Rev. William Westling officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.

Millicent Adella Onsted
Millicent Adella Onsted, age 96, of New Philadelphia died Friday evening, March 3, 2006, in Riverside Manor at Newcomerstown.
Born April 11, 1909, at Ilkeston, England, Millicent was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie E. (Broadhurst) Seabrook. At the age of three, Millicent came to America with her parents, who settled at New Philadelphia.
A 1927 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, she married Delbert N. Shepherd in 1928 and relocated to Londonderry, Ohio, where she would rear a family for the next two decades. Mr. Shepherd died in 1946, so Millicent and her young children returned to New Philadelphia to be closer to her family. She began a twenty year career as a bookkeeper for the former Twin City Equipment at New Philadelphia. On May 27, 1955, Millicent married Lloyd E. Onsted. The couple resided on 17th Street NE at New Philadelphia for the next twenty-six years, until his death on June 9, 1981.
Millicent was a faithful member of the Broadway United Methodist Church where she was active in many of the ministries. A past member of the former Ladies Aid, she also was involved in a quilting group there, and was a member of the Ladies Bible class. She will be missed by her colleagues in the Union Grange, where she was recently recognized for having been a member for eighty years. Mrs. Onsted was also a member of the Dover Women of the Moose, the Old Town Ladies Aid, and played piano many years at the Smyrna Methodist Church. Millicent spent her winters in Homestead Florida from 1973 until 2002. There, she volunteered for many years in the Homestead Hospital.
Millicent is survived by her daughter, Millicent and her husband Joseph Sayre of Dover; two sons, David and his wife Barbara Shepherd of Bowerston and Paul and his wife Mary Jo Shepherd of Mansfield, Texas; step-daughters, Esther and her husband Richard White of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lois Baker of Jupiter, Florida; a step-son, Kenneth and his wife Dottie Onsted of Warner Robins, Georgia; six grandchildren, Brad and his wife Debbie Sayre of Dover, Harold and his wife Angela Sayre of Carrollton, Virginia, Allan and his wife Stephanie Sayre of Dover, Dwayne and his wife Tiffany Shepherd of New Philadelphia, and Christopher and Marissa Shepherd both of Mansfield, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Sayre, Jilaine Kellner, Alec Sayre, and Ryan and Brandon Dotts. Numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.
In addition to her parents, and husbands, Millicent was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Charles, and Byron Seabrook, an infant sister, Joy Seabrook, a step-son, Richard Onsted, and step-granddaughter Diane Baker.
Visitation was in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Cremation will follow through the care of Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. The Rev. Harry Milligan led a memorial service in the funeral home's chapel.
Those unable to attend are invited to send condolences to the family by visiting the funeral home's website.

Violet Marie Hendrix
Violet Marie Hendrix, 78, Jewett, died April 26, 2006 at Sunnyslope Nursing Home in Bowerston.She was born July 24, 1927 in St. Mary's, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Martin Riggs.She was Protestant by faith, a former Sunday school teacher at the Bergholz United Methodist Church for many years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hendrix; three brothers, Gail, Kenneth and Glenn Riggs; two sisters, Alice Morrow and Jacquelyn Riggs.Surviving are a son, Wesley Hendrix and wife Tammy of Jewett; two daughters, Lou Ann Furman and husband Myron of Jewett, Lisa Gray and husband Glenn of Coshocton; sister, Doris Plavka and husband Joseph of Bergholz; brother, Arthur Riggs of Bergholz; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Friends may call at the Blackburn Funeral Home, East Main Street, Jewett on April 28, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with services there on Saturday, April 29 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Frank Nameth Sr.
Frank Nameth Sr., 85, of Ramsey, died April 25, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry surrounded by his family.He was born Dec. 23, 1920 in Herrick, Ohio, the son of the late Walter and Edna Stark Nameth.He retired after 42 years of service from Consolidation Coal Co., Franklin Mine #125 as a motorman. He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Adena American Legion Pot #525.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Anna Shank Nameth; three brothers, Andy, Joseph and John Nameth and two sisters, Ann Goletz and Agnes Masloski.He is survived by two sons Frank Jr. and wife Debby of Ramsey and Jake and wife Lynn of Harrisville; a brother, Michael of Rayland; two sisters, Mary Ronevich and Helen Angel both of Dillonvale; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Friday 2-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St. Dillonvale, where vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sunday at 10 a.m. at St. Casmir Catholic Church in Adena with Monsignor John Kolesar as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens with full military services conducted by the Adena American Legion.Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena American Legion, 79 Hanna Ave., Adena, Ohio 43901.

Thomas J. Donoghue
Thomas Joseph Donoghue, 82, Rankin Rd., Cadiz, died April 24 in Rochester, NY in the home of his step-daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and David Harris.His life was devoted to his ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, serving congregations in Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana, with nearly 20 years in Texas and the past 10 years in Ohio.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Simpson Donoghue.He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Phyllis E. Rankin-Donoghue; his daughter Susan (Mrs. Michael) Dickman of Nevada; his son Timothy (and wife Kelly) and children Sally, Isaac and Riley of Texas. His step-family includes daughters, Elaine (Mrs. David) Harris of New York and Mary Louie (Mrs. Allan) Foster, grandchildren, Rachel and Daniel (and wife Abigail), all of Ohio; two sisters and their families, Patricia Bollinger and Eileen Bradford of Missouri.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Charleston Street Extension, Cadiz. Services also are being planned in Longview, Texas. Ministers presiding will be Gary Vorhees of Cadiz and Ron Jackson of Atlanta, Ga.Donations in his memory may be made to Visiting Nurse Foundation, 2180 Empire Blvd. Webster, NY 14580.

Jesse E. Everhart
Jesse E. Everhart, 90, Jewett, died April 24, 2006 at his home after a short illness.He was born Oct. 24, 1915 in Jewett, a son of the late Howard and Mary Nupp Everhart.He was retired from Republic Steel in Canton, where he worked for over 29 years. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America in Canton. He also owned and operated the Everhart & Sons Garage specializing in mechanical and body work in Jewett for many years. He was a World War II Army Veteran. His specialty was a locomotive fireman #111. In later years he became a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.In addition to his parent , he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Everhart; three brothers and two sisters.He is survived by four sons Raymond and wife Ellen of Jewett, Jesse and wife Linda of Canton, Richard and wife Lillian of Palmyra, Pa. and John and wife Gail of Jewett; a daughter, Shirley and husband Gordon Kirtley of Follansbee, W.Va.; two sisters, Julia Stull of New Philadelphia and Dorothy Fritch of Wintersville; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.Friends may call at the Blackburn Funeral Home on East Main Street in Jewett on Wednesday, April 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with services at the funeral home Thursday, Apr. 27, 2 p.m. with Mr. Calvin John Dicks officiating. Burial will follow at Fairvew Cemetery.
