Wilma Gertrude Tyson
Wilma Gertrude Tyson, 89, Strasburg, formerly of Piedmont, died Sept. 29, 2001 in Doctor's Hospital, Massillon.
She was born Oct. 29, 1911 in Belmont County, a daughter of the late Wilbert Luyster and Mary Kildow Luyster.
She formerly worked for 12 years at St. John's Villa in Carrollton and prior to that worked for Longview Restaurant, Piedmont and the Heart Home in Alliance. She is a member of the Freeport #319 Order of Eastern Star and she loved to crochet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy A. Tyson; parents; a son, Donald; five brothers, Loren Luyster, Glenn Luyster, Carl Luyster, Dean Luyster and Clyde Luyster; three sisters, Nova Hidey, Ethel Horstman and Hilda Brown.
Surviving are a son, Allen (Carol) Tyson of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Price and Mrs. Edward (Phyllis) Price both of Canton; a sister Ila Crawford of Canton; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High St., Freeport with the Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 in the funeral home. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Glenda Mae Arbogast
Glenda Mae Arbogast, 61, Hopedale, died Sept. 30, 2001 in Carriage Inn Nursing Home, Cadiz.
She was born Jan. 24, 1940 in Carrollton, a daughter of the late Floyd Kohler and Ethel Hendricks Kohler of New Rumley, who survives.
She was a retired employee of the Dietary Department at the Harrison Community Hospital, she was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are her husband, James P. Arbogast; two sons, James K. Arbogast and wife Tracy of Jewett and Jeffrey L. Arbogast and wife Katherine of Chico, Calif.; her mother; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Albright of New Rumley and Mrs. Carl (Katie) Crall of Scio; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at the Blackburn Funeral Home, Hopedale, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Rodney Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.

Mary Lucille McGonigal
Mary Lucille McGongial, 98, Cadiz, died Sept. 30, 2001 in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.
She was born June 21, 1903 in Glen Robbins, Ohio, a daughter of the late John William Rheuff and Belle Elosue Dolley Rheuff.
She was a housewife. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Cadiz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Aloysius McGonigal; parents; a daughter, Mary Teresa Sauvageot; four grandchildren, Richard, John, and Brett Sauvageot and Ellen Chambers; 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a son, J. Eugene McGonigal of Cadiz; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Chambers of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial in Cadiz Union Cemetery.
Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, was in charge of arrangements.

Julia L. Leggett
Julia L. Leggett, 91, formerly of Bowerston, died Sept. 28, 2001 at Bolivar Hennis Care Center, Bolivar.
She was born March 25, 1910 in Moundsville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas Alfred Clarke and Ella Smalley Clarke.
She had been a resident of Bowerston since 1944. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women and had sang in the choir for 32 years. She devoted her life to her family and a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She had also worked for Fostoria Glass in Moundsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin W. Leggett; parents; five brothers, Theodore, Ed, Russell, Raymond and Bill Clarke; sister, Carol Clarke.
Surviving are a son, Roger and Pat Leggett of Connersville, Ind.; daughter Helen and Chuck Candea of North Canton; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Davis and Luci Stevens both of Carrollton; sister-in-law Opal Clarke of Moundsville; many nieces and nephews.
Service was Oct. 1, 2001 in R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Inc., Dennison with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial in Perrysville Methodist Church Cemetery, Perrysville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Bowerston or the Activities Fund at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar.

Edith Ager
Edith Ager, 80, New Rumley, died Sept. 28, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on State Route 9 near Cadiz.
She was born in New Rumley on Nov. 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Clem and Celia Busby McAfee.
After graduating from Scio High School, she worked for the Scio Pottery Company for almost 40 years. She was a member of the New Rumley United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women's group, the Scio Civic Club and the WCTU.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Thompson and Ethel Fowler and a grandson, Rex Haney.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Ager; a daughter and son-in-law, George and Donna Jean Haney; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Carolyn Ager all of New Rumley; four grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Shelly Haney of New Rumley; Kelly and Ann Ager of Gallipolis, Lisa Ager of Marion and Jami Ager of Pittsburgh; three great-grandchildren; Joshua and Lindsey Kay Haney of New Rumley and Kaci Rae Ager of Gallipolis.
Service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. in the New Rumley United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Lee and the Rev. Donald Stire officiating. Burial in Fairview Gardens Cemetery, Jewett. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, Scio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Rumley Methodist Church Building Fund, 41395 Rumley Road East, Scio, Ohio 43988.

Robert E. Liggett
Robert E. Liggett, 80, Cadiz, died June 13, 2001 at his home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1921 in Hopedale, a son of the late Albert Liggett and Vesta Liggett Liggett.
He was a retired dragline operator, Bedway and Cravat Coal companies. He was a member of Scott United Methodist Church, Cadiz. He was an Air Force veteran from World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathryn Wilden Liggett; parents; a son Robert E. Jr.; six brothers, Don, Roy, Carl, LeMoyne, Bill and Ross Liggett; a sister, JoAnn Liggett.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Cindy) Snyder of Hopedale; a son, Edward Robert Liggett and wife Michelle of Hopedale; six grandchildren Marisaa Paolucci, Michol, Chad and Miranda Snyder, Nash and Jessica Liggett; a sister, Pearl Mader of Carrollton.
Calling hours are Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main Street, Cadiz. Service will be Saturday, June 16, 2001 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale.

Robert E. Bower
Robert E. Bower, 83, New Athens, died June 14, 2001 at the Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.
He was born March 27, 1918 in Scio, a son of the late Eugene Bower and Nina McGuire Bower.
He was a retired mechanic from Consolidation Coal Company, Cadiz, a former mechanic for Cadiz Motor Company. He was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church. He was a member of UMWA, former member of the Athens Union Local School Board and the Harrison Local School Board, he operated the Dusty Valley Kart Club in New Athens.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Loudora McConnell Bower; a son, Nick and wife Lorna of New Athens; a daughter, Lynn Hubbard of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Melissa, Lori, Debbie, Kelly and Nicole; two great-grandchildren, Adam and Sara; a brother, Dean Bower of Cadiz and a sister, Elsie Leeser of Cadiz.
Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Service is Monday, June 18, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Hibbs, Rev. Charles Mehl officiating. Burial in Longview Cemetery, New Athens.
