Willard Wallace, 83, Cadiz, died Nov. 21, 2000 at Carriage Inn of Cadiz.
He was born Oct. 29, 1917 in Cadiz, a son of the late Willard Wallace Sr. and Katie Stewart Wallace.
He was a retired custodian at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz and St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Wallace.
Surviving are a niece Kathy Reed of Cadiz; several cousins, including locally, Melford W. Wallace of Cadiz; a friend, Sam Taylor of Cadiz.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz. Service will be Saturday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, W. Market St., Cadiz with the Rev. William Hudson officiating. Burial in Cadiz Union Cemetery.
Edna Mae Manbeck
Edna Mae Manbeck, 77, Crystal River, Fla., formerly of Cadiz, died Nov. 18, 2000 in Leesburgh, Fla.
She was born Oct. 23, 1923 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of the late Roy Clifford Haynes and Edna Bertha Stillwell Haynes.
She was a retired Nurses Aide. A member of the First Presbyterian Church, Crystal Springs, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two brothers, George William Haynes of Newcomerstown, Ronald Kenneth Haynes of Wintersville; two sisters, Dorothy Nicholson and Shirley Haynes both of Crystal Springs, Fla.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000 from 1-2 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, East Market St., Cadiz, where service will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Visser officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale.
Paul E. Taggart
Paul E. Taggart, 76, Scio died Nov.15, 2000 in Trinity Hospital West, Steubenville.
He was born April 18, 1924 near Kilgore in Carroll County, a son of the late Henry O. and Grace Erwin Taggart.
He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1942. He was a former employee at the Scio Pottery, Nolan Company in Bowerston and retired from Consol Coal Company in 1983. He attended New Rumley Methodist Church and was a member of United Mine Workers District 6.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred Taggart.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Davis Taggart; a son, Michael Taggart of Phoenix, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Christy Taggart of Corona, Calif.; two grandsons, Chad and Mike Taggart both of Phoenix, Ariz.
Service was held Nov. 18, 2000 in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial in Fairview Gardens Cemetery, Jewett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Rumley Methodist Church.
Olive E. Collins
Olive E. Collins, 93, Ashtabula, died Nov. 17, 2000 at the Sterling House in Canton.
She was born Mar. 30, 1907 in Freeport, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lewis W. and Clio (Schontz) Latham.
She graduated from Cleveland Institute of Art and Western Reserve University in 1929 with a Bachelor of Education in Art. She taught school in the Buckeye School system for 42 years. She was a former member of the East Side Presyterian Church and had been an active member of several bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband Ray A. Collins.
Surviving is a son, Bill Collins of Waterloo, Wis.; three grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. at the Freeport Cemetery in Freeport.
Ross-Billman Funeral Home, Ashtabula was in charge of arrangements.
Christopher Michael Morris
Christopher Michael Morris, stillborn infant, died Nov. 16, 2000 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Surviving are his parents Michael Clayton and Shelly Ann Gardner Morris of Piedmont; a sister, Samantha Morris; maternal grandparents, Lee and Roberta Gardner of Fairview; paternal grandparents Clayton and Debbie Morris of Wakeman.
Koch Funeral Home, Freeport was in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Belle Dornbush
Mary Belle Dornbush, 90, Unionport, died Nov. 16, 2000 in Dixon Healthcare Center, Wintersville.
She was born Sept. 20, 1910 in Burgettstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Oscar L. and Chessie Ackleson Osburn.
She was a member of the Unionport Christian Church, Woman's Christian Fellowship, Phythian Sisters, Unionport Grange and Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Dornbush; two brothers, Roy and Glenn; four sisters, Ruth, Ida, Jean and Lois.
Surviving are a son, James Dornbursh of Steubenville; three daughters, Martha Barker, Mrs. Dennis (Karen) Sims; Mrs. Gary (JoAnn) Blackburn all of Bloomingdale; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Service was Nov. 19, 2000 in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home at Amsterdam with the Rev. Hubert Granger officiating. Burial in Unionport Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made in Mary's memory to the Unionport Christian Church, Women's Fellowship, Twp. Hwy. 201, Bloomingdale, Ohio 43910.
Gloria Carolyn Schanzle Kennedy
Gloria Carolyn Schanzel Kennedy, 68, died Nov. 18, 2000 at her home in Jewett.
She was born Sept. 2, 1932 in Syracuse, NY, a daughter of the late Arthur Philip Schanzle and Hazel Julia Lucas.
She was a graduate of Marcellus Central School in Marcellus, NY and earned a BA degree from National College of Christian Workers in Kansas City, Ks. She was licensed to preach by the Methodist Church. She served for 50 years teaching church school and 35 years as a Girl Scout leader. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Jewett, served in the United Methodist Women and choir and was a member of the Jewett Garden Club. She also served as a volunteer in the Salvation Army and Valley Hospice.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Roger B. Kennedy of Jewett; two brothers, Philip Schanzle of Syracuse, and George and Pat Schanzle of Camillus, NY; a sister, Mrs. Ed (Marilyn) Copley of Syracuse; three sons, Bruce and (Donna) Kennedy of Ashley, Ohio, Stephen and Michelle Kennedy of Angier, NC, David and Fran Kennedy of Robbins, NC; two daughters, Mrs. Barry (Dawn) Spangenberg of Madison, Ohio, Mrs. David (Sharon) Kendall of Ashland; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Nov. 21, 2000 2 to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Blackburn Funeral Home, Jewett. Service will be Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, 11 a.m. at Jewett United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joe Wright officiating.
