Jerry L. Blacksten

A funeral service for Jerry L. Blacksten, 63, of Newark, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Winfield Strout officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Blacksten died Nov. 14, 2003, at his residence. He was born June 29, 1940, in Newark, to the late Floyd O. and Cleo V. (Sulser) Blacksten.
Jerry was a member of the K&P Lodge, member of St. Johns Church of Christ, served as city councilman for six-and-half years, and served on the planning committee for the city of Newark.
He is survived by his sister, Janice Blacksten of Newark.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents.

Dorothy M. Whiting
Nov. 26, 1925-Nov. 16, 2003
A private funeral service will be held for Dorothy M. Whiting, 77, of Oak Harbor, Ohio.
Dorothy died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Portsmouth, to Herbert and Laura (Schaffer) Mosley.
She was married to Emery K. Whiting, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Dorothy worked as a laborer for Standard Products for 10 years. She enjoyed watching television, doing puzzles, loved fishing and especially enjoyed nature.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Larry) Williams of Clyde, Diana (Rodney) Blevins of Marblehead, Lela (Albert) Tettau of Oak Harbor, and Janet Nelson of Sandusky; sons, Michael (Cindy) Whiting of Marblehead, Emery Steven Whiting of Sandusky, and Joseph Whiting of Newark; sisters, Shirley M. Mosley of Port Clinton, Judy (Tom) Carpenter of Port Clinton, and Donna (James) Shiets of Port Clinton; brother, Ernest Mosley of Newark; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rose Lane, Mary Louise Flynn, Irene Swanson and Kathy White; and brothers, Claude Mosley, Clarence Mosley and Charles Mosley.
There will be no visitation.

John E. Fuller

A funeral service for John E. Fuller, 76, of Granville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Licking Baptist Church, 1380 Beaver Run Road, S.E., Hebron, with Pastor Lonnie J. Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery in Millersport.
Mr. Fuller, a retired accountant and former partner with his brother, Tom, of Fuller's Market in Granville, died Nov. 16, 2003, at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. He was born May 13, 1927, in Columbus to the late Isaac G. and Elizabeth M. (Thomas) Fuller.
Mr. Fuller was a 1945 graduate of Granville High School and attended The Ohio State University. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Fuller was a member of the Licking Baptist Church and Center Star Lodge 11, F & AM, Heath.
Surviving are his wife, Trudy (Chandler) Jones Fuller; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Gene Fuller of Sheboygan, Wis., Bob and Karen Fuller of Columbus, Jack and Kelly Fuller of Circleville and Mel and Carol Lewis of Fredericktown; daughter, Sara Stephenson of Columbus; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Jean Fuller of Granville; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Ken Moore of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Snyder.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at the McPeek Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville, where Center Star Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Mamie McIntire

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mamie McIntire, 67, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Buckeye Lake, with Monsignor Frank Meagher officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Mrs. McIntire, a waitress at the Buckeye Lake Truck Stop for many years, died Nov. 16, 2003, at her home. She was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Fredonia, N.Y., to the late Nicholas and Mary (Encalcaterra) Orazio.
Mrs. McIntire attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Surviving are her loving husband, James H. McIntire, whom she married on March 29, 1972; children and their spouses, Patricia and Hugh Terrell of Joplin, Mo., Dominick and Sherry Capitano of Newark, Mark and Cheryl Capitano of Hubert, N.C., Denise and Sam Guagenti of Lima, and Jim and Margie McIntire of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Angie Calcaterra, Carol Ball, and Patricia and Bernie Hirschbine, all of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Capitano and Denise Connor; eight brothers; and three sisters.

A funeral service for Matt VanSickle, 30, of Johnstown, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Croton Church of Christ, with Dan Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Hartford Cemetery, Croton.
Matt died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at his residence. He was born Sept. 21, 1973, in Huntington, W.Va.
He was employed by Clear Choice Wall Systems, Westerville.
He is survived by a son, Cameron VanSickle; a daughter, Maddison VanSickle, both of Whitehall; parents, Linda and Jim VanSickle of Johnstown; two brothers, Roscoe VanSickle and Eric VanSickle, both of Johnstown; sister, Tracy VanSickle of Johnstown; grandmother, Minnie Williamson of Dunlow, W.Va.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown.
Catherine M. Thompson

A funeral service for Catherine M. Thompson, 85, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery.
Ms. Thompson, a graduate of Hanover High School, died Nov. 16, 2003, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born March 23, 1918, in Hanover, to the late John E. "Andy" and Mary Ellen (Levingston) Thompson.
Ms. Thompson was formerly employed by Pharis Tire and Rubber and Cussin & Fern Hardware Store. She was retired from Continental Can where she had worked in Quality Control.
Surviving are her sisters and brothers-in-law, Elogeanne and Forrest Wilson of Newark, and Lenora "Nonnie" and Eurie Lee Morgan of Frazeysburg; and many nieces and nephews
