Joshua M. Eppley

A funeral service for Joshua M. "Josh" Eppley, 12, of Adamsville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Adamsville Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the Baptist Cemetery, Adamsville.
Josh died Wednesday evening, Nov. 26, 2003, at Children's Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Ohio 208 while on his way home from school. Born July 12, 1991, he was a seventh-grade student at Tri-Valley Middle School. Josh was a fan of dirt track auto racing and loved to ride four wheelers and bicycles.
He is the beloved son of Randy J. and Cheryl D. Eppley, brother of Tyler J. Eppley and Jessica M. Bray, and grandson of Barbara J. Eppley of Shawnee and is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Beach and Donald R. Eppley.

Margaret "Peggy" Chilcoat Read

No services will be held for Margaret "Peggy" Chilcoat Read, 84, of Cuyahoga Falls.
Mrs. Read died peacefully at the Wesley Glenn Health Care Center on Wednesday after a 1 1/2-year battle with peritoneal cancer.
Born Margaret Ruth Chilcoat in Newark, March 22, 1919, she graduated from the Pennsylvania School of Nursing, and worked as a nurse until 1945.
She traveled extensively, and lived in Israel, Chile, Argentina, Holland and Portugal, before making her home in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 27 years.
Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Andre) Daab-Krzykowski, of Columbus, and Laurie (Robert) Morella, of Roswell, Ga.; grandchildren, Cecylia Daab-Krzykowski, Ross Read Morella and Max Read Morella.
At Margaret's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements completed by the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio.
Jo Ann Kaufman
Jan. 20, 1947 -- Nov. 26, 2003
A funeral service for Jo Ann (Smith) Kaufman will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, with Pastor Don Gutwein officiating.
Mrs. Kaufman was born Jan. 20, 1947, in New Albany to parents Raymond G. and Frances Pauline (Lennington) Smith and departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Mount Carmel Hospital, Columbus. She was married Sept. 19, l970 to Robert O. Kaufman.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Mason R. Kaufman and his friend Liberty Howard and Aaron B. Kaufman; mother, Pauline Smith; and brother Nelson A. and Patty I. Smith, all of the Johnstown area.
She graduated from Johnstown-Monroe High School in 1965. She held degrees in microbiology and toxicology from Ohio University. She had worked extensively with Licking Memorial Hospital, Rouche Labs, Browne Laboratories, Croton Egg Farms Inc. and Battelle Memorial Institute.
However, the heart throb of her life was developed at 12 years of age when she read the Four Gospels and just the letters in red of Christ. She has said those words transformed her life into a devotion to Jesus Christ and what today is known as the "What Would Jesus Do?" principle. She has taken over 40 people into her home during their time of need and with the help of her family housed, clothed and fed them. At the time of her departure she was actively involved with at least eight individuals in ministering to their needs. She was a "Proverbs 31" wife, loving mother, devoted daughter, a brother's true friend and a wise and patient counselor to many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all the lives she so lovingly touched.

Raymond W. Peck

A funeral service for Raymond W. Peck, 63, of Newark, Ohio, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service with the Rev. Bill Cronk officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Mr. Peck, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died Nov. 26, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1940 in Newark.
He retired after 40 years of service from Friener Sheet Metal Company. He also retired in 2001 as a security guard after 7 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra L. (Marquis) Peck of Newark; mother Ethel (Williams) Peck; father Walter Peck; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Frank Belcher of Newark, Mindy and Mike Appleman of Newark, and Missy and Chad Miller of Newark; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Candi Peck of Newark and Doug and Serena Peck of Newark; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Darlene Peck of Newark, Joe & Kathy Peck of Newark, Robert Peck of Newark and Richard and Rose Peck of Newark; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Russell Peck and his grandparents.

Martha M. Loy

A funeral service for Martha M. Loy, 77, of Florida, a life-long resident of Newark, will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, with Rev. John Minihan officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Martha Loy died in Florida on Nov. 26, 2003, at the Parthenon Care Center. Martha was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Newark to Ralph C. and Mary E. Edwards. Martha retired as an elementary school teacher from Madison Elementary.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence William Loy, and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily (Otto) Martinez of Florida; son, John (Linda) Loy of Newark; grandchildren, Kristin Mason of Newark, Will Martinez and Toni Martinez, both of Florida.

Edgar Lavelle "Bud" Angus

A funeral service for Edgar Lavelle (Bud) Angus, 58, will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Angus died Nov. 27, 2003, at the Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born Feb. 3, 1945 in Columbus to the late Everett and Violet (Swesey) Angus.
Mr. Angus worked as an iron worker, was a member of the N.R.A., and was a member of the Greater Cincinnati Gyro Copter Club.
He is survived by his wife, Diana (Gray) Angus of Newark; daughters, Angela Phillips of Newark, Jada (Jeffrey) Paczan of Reynoldsburg, Tara (Steven) Warren of Raeford, N.C., and Amber Angus and friend Steve Kennedy of San Francisco, Calif.; son, Scot (Peggy) Angus of Newark; grandchildren Kehley,Shelby, Garrett, Abby, Kaycee, Stevie, Seth, and baby Scot; brothers, Richard (Jerry) Angus, of Conway, S.C., Gilbert (Betty) Angus of Andrews, S.C., Danny and Dale (Rita) Angus of Newark, and Rodney(Sherry) Angus also of Newark; sisters, Ann (Ed)Schultz of Indianapolis, Ind., Jeanette (Rudy) French of Newark, Thelma (Bob) Tinon of Utica, Sue Decker of St.Louisville, Jenny McConnell of Utica, Donna Oney of Newark, and Connie (Marty) Decker of Hebron; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Angus was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Everett, and a grandson, Anthony.

Doris E. Hoke

A funeral Service for Doris E. Hoke, 71, of Newark will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hoke passed away Nov. 27, 2003, at her residence. She was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Calhoun County, West Virginia to Okey and Beulah (Greathouse) Carpenter.
Doris was a member of the Spring Hills Baptist Church, and will always be remembered by her enjoyment of cooking, gardening and always giving to others.
She is survived by her mother, Beulah (Greathouse) Carpenter of Newark; two daughters, Diane (Larry) Lindsey of Newark, and Bonita Lloyd and her significant other Steven Dewey of Heath; two sisters, Meryl (Dave) Miller of Newark and Beryl (Wayne) Dusenberry of Florida; two brothers, Charles Carpenter of Florida and Glenn (Kathy) Carpenter of Newark; one granddaughter, Candi (Chad) Hufford of Newark; four great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Ryan, Cassie, Cierra and one on the way.
Doris was preceded in death by her father, her first husband, David Lloyd, and her second husband: Merle Hoke; along with one son, Dennis Lloyd.

Mabel V. Clark

A funeral service for Mabel V. Clark, 95, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harris-Dilley Funeral Home in Bladensburg with Brian Priest and Cory Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Fork Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was born on Aug. 2, 1908 in Licking county to Amos A. and Nellie (Parker) Davis.
She was a member of the Rocky Fork Church of Christ.
Mrs. Clark is survived by four sons, Lewis (Emilee) Clark, Duane (Earlene) Clark and Jack (Janelle) Clark, all of Newark, and Bernard (Carolyn) Clark, of Fallsburg; two daughters, Thelma Mills, of Bladensburg, and Betty (Ray) Thompson, of Newark; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, in 1989; a daughter, Norma Davidson; three brothers; four sisters; and two grandchildren.
