Alma Goldsberry Butt

A funeral service for Alma Goldsberry Butt, 95, of Croton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home.
Alma passed away Dec. 1, 2003. She was born to the late Charles and Capitola McAfee Goldsberry on Aug. 2, 1908, in Athens County, Ohio.
She was a member of the Croton Church of Christ.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Ann) Butt of South Lyons, Mich., Freddie (Patricia) Butt of Delaware, Ohio, and Donnie (Marlene) Butt of Croton; one daughter, Linda (Don) Hooper of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Maxine Potter of Smithville, Tenn., and Margaret Garrett of Athens.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Virgil C. Butt; daughter, Donna Jean; sisters, Glenna, Elsie, Lula, Velma and Katherine; brothers, Frank and Adrian; and great-grandson, Bill.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Johnstown.

Rosemary Elaine (Roberts) Dugan

A funeral service for Rosemary Elaine (Roberts) Dugan, 53, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Pastor Chris Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Dugan, a cake decorator for Kroger, passed away Nov. 30, 2003, at her residence. She was born March 4, 1950, in Newark, to Mary Louise (Bradley) Roberts and to the late Clement Orn Roberts Sr.
Mrs. Dugan was a 1968 Newark High School graduate.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Terry Dugan of Newark; son, Kevin Dugan of Newark; daughter, Kathy (Bryan) Feaster; two granddaughters Emily and Lynzi Feaster, all of Heath; four brothers, Clement Orn Roberts Jr., Thomas Roberts, Michael Roberts and Jeffery Roberts; and two sisters, Peggy Kerr and Connie Schwarz.

A graveside service for Anna Marie Sjoquist, 40, of Hebron, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kirkersville Cemetery, with the Rev. Daniel Ruff and the Rev. Lonnie Aleshire officiating.
Mrs. Sjoquist, who was a member of Pilgram Lutheran Church in Granville, died Nov. 29, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1963, in Lancaster, to John P. Whittington and the late Gladys Virginia Whittington.
Mrs. Sjoquist attended Lakewood High School.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Brett Sjoquist of the home; children, John C. Redman of Buckeye Lake, Katlyn Marie Sjoquist of the home, and Brett Steven Sjoquist Jr. of the home; mother-in-law, Margaret Schuirmann of Buckeye Lake; nieces, Heather Sjoquist of Buckeye Lake, and Heidi Sjoquist of Buckeye Lake; and many other family members and friends.

Kevin Coder

A memorial service for Kevin Coder, 43, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at his home.
Kevin died at his home on Nov. 25, 2003. He was an excellent woodcraftsman. He had also worked for Powell Tree Service.
He was the beloved son of Kenneth and Joann Coder of Blue Rock; brother to Rebecca Coder and Joy Coder of Newark; soulmate of 26 years to Ellen Pennington; dad to Brian Pennington; and grandfather to Aisha Pennington. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete and David Coder.
He had many feline friends and one special canine friend, Coders Hurricane Buster.

Marie Kathleen Hammond

A memorial service for Marie Kathleen Hammond, 84, of Newark, will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Beesley officiating.
Marie, who retired in 1982 as a legal secretary from Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease, died Dec. 2, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born May 4, 1919, in Granville, to the late Mercer and Lucile (Bonnett) Hammond.
She is survived by three sisters, Caroline Carter, Myrta Nicodemus and Alyce Welsh, all of Newark; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Leah Adelle Wilson, and by her twin sister, Mary Hammond McCartan; and three brothers, Ross, William and George Hammond.

James Edward Miller

A funeral service for James Edward Miller, 51, of Utica, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Southlawn Cemetery in Utica, where military graveside services will be held by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Miller died on Dec. 1, 2003, in Knox County. He was born March 3, 1952, in Newark, to Yvonne (Abbott) and the late Edward Miller.
He was employed by the Goodin Electric Company as an electrician. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Utica Church of Christ and the N.R.A. He was also an avid hunter, and he loved to fish.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra (Ramsey) Miller. He is also survived by his mother; brothers and sisters, John R. (Lucy) Miller of Owosso, Mich., Deborah (Frank) Pintz of Heath, Tim (Pennie) Miller of Newark, Alice (Kent) Morgan of Granville, and Sam (Melissa) Miller of Hanover; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Carol Sue Henderson-Reid

A memorial service for Carol Sue Henderson-Reid, 43, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating.
Mrs. Reid, a graduate of Newark High School, died Dec. 1, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born July 26, 1960, in Newark, to Ann E. (Cline) Henderson of Newark and the late Paul R. Henderson.
She managed the cafeteria at Owens Corning for several years and was working for the Limited Brands Victoria's Secret Company at the time of her death.
Surviving are her husband, Robert T. Reid Sr.; daughter, Fanessa Reid of Newark; son, Robert Todd Reid Jr. of Newark; brother and sister-in-law, Paul Ray and Denise Henderson of Peoria, Ill.; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann Henderson of Newark, and Sharon and Michael Warfel of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Newark Chapel, 59 N. Fifth St.

Mark Daniel Giffen

A graveside service for Mark Daniel Giffen, 45, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Giffen, a U.S. Navy veteran, died Nov. 29, 2003, at Arlington Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 10, 1958, in Santa Monica, Calif., to the late Robert Giffen and Rachel (Long) Giffen .
Surviving are his mother, Rachel Giffen of Newark; father, Robert Giffen of Newark; sister, Tina (Charles) Giffen of Newark; nephews, Jonathan, Nick, Chuck, Wesley and Daniel; and several nieces.
No calling hours will be observed.
