Eleanor Frances Schluep

A funeral service for Eleanor Frances Schluep, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, with Pastor William Rauch officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Schluep was born Dec. 22, 1913. She passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Arlington Health Care Center in Newark.
She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, a former member of Christ the King Church, Christian Assembly and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Eleanor was a devoted volunteer for more than 25 years at Northland Terrace and Lutheran Senior City and a foster parent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Henry and Nannie Ohde; three brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her son, Richard Gary (Joan) Schluep; daughter, Julianne (Michael) Ingram; grandchildren, Christopher Ingram, Kristin (Rob) Draye, David (Kathy) Schluep and Carina Wilt; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Dannica and Alayah; sister, Evelyn (Paul) Breitfeller; and numerous nieces, nephews and special "daughter," Kay Franks.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Jo Gonser

A funeral service for Dorothy Jo Gonser, 65, of Newark, will be held at noon Saturday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Tim Carr officiating.
Mrs. Gonser died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Umatilla, Fla., to the late Joseph Osborne and Louise (Porter) Osborne of Florida.
She was a retired school teacher in the Newark School System and Lake County Florida School System
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Gonser and Jolene (Oris) McCloud, both of Heath; grandchildren, Kevin Woods, Aaron Anderson and Chester Anderson; her mother; and brothers, Charles (Amy) Osborne of Florida, and Roger (Joanne) Osborne of Georgia.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Nancy Nell Reynolds

A funeral service for Nancy Nell Reynolds, 73, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery
Mrs. Reynolds was born May 24, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Dr. Adrian and Catherine (Heskett) Krause.
She retired as a registered nurse at Arlington Nursing Home after 20 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Reynolds, whom she married in 1952; daughters and sons-in-laws, Cathy and Phil Disterdick of Arkansas, and Patricia and John Keller of Thornville; sons, Thomas Martin Reynolds Jr. of Las Vegas, Timothy Byford Reynolds of Columbus, and Benton Wayne Reynolds of Buckeye Lake; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard Krause.

Anne Tender

A blessing service for Anne Tender, 80, of Washington, Pa., will be held at 10 a.m. today in the William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Ave., Washington, Pa., with Father Thomas D. O'Neil officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
Mrs. Tender died at 6:10 p.m. Dec. 14, 2003, in Donnell House, Washington, following a two-year illness. She was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Weaver, Pa., daughter of Charles and Sophia Barchi Skeryo.
Mrs. Tender was homemaker and a member of St. Hilary Church in Washington, Pa. She was a member of Greek Catholic Union, Senior Citizens of Washington, Pa., and Retired Persons of Washington County.
On June 30, 1956, she married Frank Walter Tender, who died in June 2000.
Surviving are a stepson, Francis W. Tender of Hebron; a son, John Tender of the home; a daughter, Dianne J. Cox of Washington, Pa.; two brothers, Charles and John Skeryo, both of Parma Heights; four sisters, Marge Skeryo of Bethel Park, Pa., Helena Karpoff of North Versailles, Pa., Julie Tomasello of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Mary Shanta of Pottstown; and three grandchildren, Floyd Thompson Jr., Anthony Cox Jr. and Alyssa Cox.
A sister, Sophia Sadvary, is deceased.
Friends were received Tuesday at the funeral home.
Edward Guy Taylor

A memorial service for Edward Guy Taylor, 82, of Glenford, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hopewell United Methodist Church, with Pastor John Edwards officiating. A caring cremation will be observed.
Edward died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Somerset Healthcare. He was born April 25, 1921, in Glenford, the son of the late Walter Oral and Anna Belle Sams Taylor.
Edward was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees and sang in the choir. He was a graduate of Glenford High School, received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University and his master's degree from The Ohio State University.
Edward had taught school for 36 years, teaching at Roseville High School, Glenford High School and Sheridan High School, where he taught English, French and Russian. He was also a World War II Army veteran, receiving the Bronze Star.
Surviving are a nephew, Charles and Charlotte Tatman of New Lexington; and three nieces, Rose Anne Flood of Crooksville, Susan and Bill Osborne of Jackson, Miss., and Deborah and Bill Palm of Westminster, Md.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Carl and David Taylor; and three sisters, Opal Volland, Pauline Tatman and Eileen Cline.

Mr. Harris died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at The Inn at North Hills, Zanesville.

Kenneth R. Brant
Nov. 26, 1926-Dec. 16, 2003
A funeral service for Kenneth R. Brant, 77, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will conduct military graveside honors.
Mr. Brant passed away Dec. 16, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. He was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Tanawanda, N.Y., to the late Herman and Amy (James) Brant.
Kenneth was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After retiring from the Army, Kenneth became an executive chef for the Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, N.Y.
Mr. Brant attended the Newark Brethren Church, was a member of the Buckeye Lake Amvets, member of the Newark Eagles, and life time member and former commander of the V.F.W in Lancaster, N.Y.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Daniel (Linda) Brant of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Marcy (Sam) Bowser of Newark, Jane (Ross) Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Loraine (Al) Gross of Gillette, Wyo.; brother, Donald (Loraine) Brant of Buffalo, N.Y.; special friend, Shirlene Bowser of Newark; first wife, Donna Brant of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brant is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Hubert Brant, Les Brant, Herman Brant Jr. and James Brant; and two sisters, Verla Verhague and Patricia Brant.

Nola Schenk, 90, of Safety Harbor, Fla., died Dec. 15, 2003, at Advanced Health and Rehab. She was born in Corydon, Ind.
Nola moved from Newark to Fort Myers, Fla., in 1993, and then moved to Clearwater, Fla., in 1995. She was employed as a teacher in Corydon, Ind., and Newark.
She is survived by five nephews, Rob Weber of Los Angeles, Calif., Tom Davidson of Toronto, Canada and Key Largo, Fla., Richard Davidson of Safety Harbor, Fla., Dr. Robert Davidson of Rockford, Mich., and William Davidson of Sellersburg, Ind.; three nieces, Mary Churchill of Corydon, Ind., Pat Kunau of Mesa, Ariz., and Janet Wardlaw of Spencer, Ind.; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews.
