A memorial service for Chester B. Myers, 92, of Heath, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service with Rev. William Rauch officiating.
Mr. Myers, an Army veteran of ETO in World War II with three Bronze Stars, died Dec. 23, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital.
Chester retired from Roper Corp. in 1974 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Red Cross Volunteer for over 10 years working with the bloodmobile. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 85, Licking County Historical Society and Art Association, Heath Senior Citizens and Burning Tree golf club. He was born June 15, 1911, in Cincinnati, Iowa, to the late George and Effie (Stinson) Myers.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Creta (Rine) Myers of Heath; son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Shelly Myers of Heath; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ben Cline of Ormond Beach, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Barbara (Guinsler) Myers of Dallas, Texas; sister, Mary Sherman of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Sybil Clark, Jason, Chelsea and Dakota Myers; and four great-grandchildren, Spencer and Colin Clark, Braden and Stokes Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Larry J. Myers; two brothers, two sisters, and three brother-in-laws.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003 , at the funeral home, 1249 Hebron Road.

Floyd E. Ross

Private funeral services for Floyd Emerson Ross, 70, of Newark, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Ross died Friday Dec. 26, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.
He was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Blacklick, Ohio, to the late Charles Francis and Mildred (Schockley) Ross.
Mr. Ross retired in 1991 with over 30 years of service from Oasis Manufacturing (EBCO) as a paint foreman.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bess (Moore) Ross, whom he married May 31, 1981; children, Melody (Tom) Harris of Columbus, Eric (Connie) Ross of Indiana, Gary (Betsy) Ross of Centerburg, Carol (Jim) Jasper of Alexandria, Scott (Connie) Lauterbach of Florida, Eric Lauterbach of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Irvin (Ginny) Ross of Florida, Ralph (Shirley) Ross of Florida; sisters, Geneva (Dick) Griffin of Blacklick, Eilene (George) Mykita, Florida; special friends, Sparky (Virginia) Spires of Havensport.
A brother, Gilbert Ross, preceded him in death.

Hazel F. Dunn

A funeral service for Hazel F. Dunn, 98, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor William Cronk officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Township Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunn died Friday morning Dec. 26, 2003. She was born Nov. 1, 1905, in Dresden.
Surviving are a son, Roy E. (Mary) Dunn of Newark; a daughter, Jennie Eileen Rasor of Zanesville; sisters, Ruby E. Stoops and Kathryn Denny Ross both of Zanesville; grandchildren, Jerry (Debbie) Dunn, Debbie (Burt) Aldred, Deanne Stickle, Marne; step-grandson, Danny (Elizabeth) Kennedy, Tamera (Lee) Brown, Christina (Scott) Kirkbride, Timothy (Tricia) Rasor; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, George Eugene Dunn; her twin sister, Helen Mae Ripple; a grandson, Donald Roy Dunn; a great-granddaughter; son-in-law, Harold Rasor; and daughters-in-law Louise Dunn and Golda Dunn preceded her in death.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Dresden.

Philip L. Hartsough

A graveside service for Philip L. Hartsough, 50, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hartsough passed away Dec. 25, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born March 23, 1953, in Newark to James F. and Barbara (Rector) Hartsough.
Mr. Hartsough was a retired computer technician, and served 25 years with Owens Corning Fiberglas.
Philip will always be remembered by his enjoyment for woodworking and his enjoyment of playing golf.
Philip is survived by his loving parents, James and Barbara Hartsough of Newark; son, Philip Hartsough of Ann Arbor, Mich.; daughter, Kristin (Scott) Beckholt of Shelby Township, Michigan; sister, Pennie (Tim) Miller of Newark; two brothers, Steven (Paula) Hartsough of Strongsville, Shawn Hartsough of Newark, along with two grandchildren, Hayden and Hunter Beckholt.
Philip was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jean E. Welsh

A funeral service for Jean E. Welsh, 76, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service with the Rev. Winfield Strout officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
With a song in her heart, placed by the Lord, our mom went home to heaven on Dec. 24, 2003. Jean Welsh was the third child born to Allen and Leila Pearl (Wince) Hall on Jan. 24, 1927, in Newark. She was a 1944 graduate of Newark High School and a member of St. John's U.C.C. Mrs. Welsh worked as a secretary for Newark Fiberglas, she was the bookkeeper for her husband's Newark Fruit Company and a teacher's aide and Librarian for Conrad School which she dearly loved working with the children. She married Jack Welsh on Feb. 16, 1952.
Mom, although you were tiny to most people, to us you were the biggest and strongest person we have ever known. Thank you for all your love and guidance.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Carol Welsh of Newark, and Daniel and Lori Welsh of Newark; daughters, Maggie Shepler of Newark and Jackie Frazier of Newark; grandsons, Chaska and Asa Welsh, Wes, Matt and Seth Shepler, and Dallas and Clay Frazier; granddaughter, Taeya Welsh; great-grandsons, Levi and Eli; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marji Hall of La Mirada, Calif.; brother, Larry Hall of the home; sister and brother-in-law, Francis and Paul Plants Jr. of Heath; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jack Welsh, who died on Sept. 26, 2001; son-in-law, Norman E. Shepler Jr., who died on Nov. 23, 2003; grandson, Cory Prouty; and three sisters, Mildred Oder, Marjorie Chrisman and Betty Wheeler Hughs.

Larry Paul Fenneken
Feb. 13, 1939-Dec. 26, 2003
Private services were held for Larry Paul Fenneken, 64, of Newark, with Rev. Robert Knox officiating.
Mr. Fenneken died Dec. 26, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Newark to the late Ernest Paul and Hazel Thelma Fenneken.
Larry attended and graduated from Newark High School. Larry then entered the United States Air Force in the early 1960s. Larry received an honorable discharge from the Air Force before starting work at Roper, where he served as an assembler. He also worked at Schulers Engineers prior to retiring from the Newark Advocate. Mr. Fenneken was a member of the Eagles No. 387 and active in the V.A.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia L. Fenneken whom he married July 18, 1968; and his son, Gary Farmer and Gary's Finance, Cindy Sturman.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations.
