Marjorie Kreager

A funeral service for Marjorie Kreager, 86, of Lancaster, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville with the Rev. Robert Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.
Mrs. Kreager passed away Dec. 23, 2003, at Lanfair Center for Nursing in Lancaster. Born June 11, 1917, in Thornville, to the late Virgil and Flora (Cooperider) Boring, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, a graduate of San Diego State University in education and was an elementary school teacher for 30 years.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas L. Kreager of Delaware, Ohio and Timothy R. (Janet) Kreager of Roswell, N.M.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Charles R. (Jean) Boring; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Kreager; and brothers, Kermit, Russell and Lewis Boring.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church.

Michael H. Thompson

A funeral service for Michael H. Thompson, 51, of Rockbridge, will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor James Dexter officiating. Burial will follow in Fancher Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson passed away suddenly on Friday, Dec. 26, 2003.
Mike was born to Herbert and Mary Jane Thompson in Indianapolis, Ind., on Nov. 9, 1952. He had owned and operated Thompson Custom Interior in Millersport for many years.
He is survived by his three children, Mike (Trish) Thompson and Chris (Sarah) Thompson both of Columbus, and Brandi (Brett) Lessig of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla, Hayden and Olivia; five brothers and sisters, Jane (Richard) Piper of Johnstown, Linda (Sam) Elmore of Indianapolis, Ind., Nancy (Russ) Baughman and Herb Thompson both of Johnstown and Mary Jane (Fred) Kuehner of Mt. Vernon; best friend, Tavie Carlisle of Lancaster; many other friends, family, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Diane Thompson; father, Herbert G. Thompson and three grandchildren, Eric, Shane and Brittany.

Maybelle E. Crozier

A funeral service for Maybelle E. Crozier, 76, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel with Eric Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Crozier died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Autumn Health Care. She was born April 28, 1927, in Newark, to the late Thomas and Anna (Newman) Danley.
She was retired cafeteria worker with Continental Can Co. and a member of the Licking County Braille Club.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dwight K. and Brenda Lee Crozier of St. Louisville; grandchildren: Theresa Ann Crozier and Dwight J Crozier; step-grandchild, Kenneth Jon Hall III; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Floyd Danley and Robert Danley both of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Glenn Danley and James Danley; and a sister, Helen Sinclair

Helene Ruggles

A memorial service for Helene Ruggles, 76, of Heath, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
Mrs. Ruggles died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Cleveland to the late Andrew and Julia (Sosniek) Trebisovsky.
She is survived by daughter, Connie Gummere of Heath; grandchild: Michael (Lori Ridenbaugh) Saenz; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kimberly, Madison and Christen Saenz; and brother, William Trebisovsky, of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nelson G. Ruggles in 1991; and brother, Andrew Trebisovsky.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Service in Newark.

Kenneth E. Rhinehart

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service or calling hours for Kenneth E. Rhinehart, 50, of Newark.
Mr. Rhinehart, formerly employed as a mechanic for Major Builders in Pataskala, died Dec. 27, 2003, at his residence. He was born Dec. 19, 1953, in Newark, to Rosemary (Seel) Rhinehart of Heath and the late Donald Rhinehart.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debra (McMannis) Rhinehart; sons, Tyler Rhinehart and his fiancee, Sommer Workman, and Kenny (Sherry) Rhinehart, all of Newark; grandchildren, Emily, Adrian and Tanner; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Mary Rhinehart of Newark; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and J.D. Snyder of Bridgeport, and Patty and Jim Brooks of Newark; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jean and Richard Winbigler of Newark.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean Rhinehart; and by a brother, Terry Rhinehart.

Ross "Tom" Elswick

A funeral service for Ross "Tom" Elswick, 64, of Hebron, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Bunde officiating.
Mr. Elswick passed away Dec. 28, 2003, at home after a sudden short Illness. He was born May 12, 1939, in New Lexington, to Ross Elswick and Blanche (Burgess) Williams.
Tom was a retired firefighter for the Newark Fire Department serving more than 23 years. He also worked as an independent plumber for 36 years, and was a member of the Hebron American Legion, and the International Association of Firefighters Local 109.
Mr. Elswick faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Ann (Dew) Elswick of Hebron; mother and stepfather, Lawrence and Blanche (Burgess) Williams of Newark; son, Brett Brunton of Newark; daughter, Lisa (Scott) Parkinson of Somerset; two brothers, Bob Elswick of Corning, and Wayne (Janice) Elswick of Bladensburg; and grandson, Dillon Brunton.
Tom is preceded in death by his father, Ross Elswick.

Alice L. Gilligan

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice L. Gilligan, 88, of Junction City, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Robert E. Willmann as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
Alice died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Somerset Healthcare. She was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Redfield, the daughter of the late James and Deborah Krigbaum Dumolt.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Junction City, where she was a past member of the Rosary Altar Society, and was also a member of the Jackson Grange and the Perry County Senior Citizens.
Surviving are three daughters, Helen (Robert) Sullivan and Martha (Leon) Blosser of Junction City, and Betty (Tom) Russell of Somerset; two sons, Bill (Fay) Gilligan of Junction City, and Bob (Jane) Gilligan of Lancaster; 36 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Gilligan (1976); three sons, Henry E. "Gene" Gilligan (2000), Joseph E. Gilligan (2002) and James F. Gilligan (2003); seven brothers, Jim, George, Mike, Clarence, Ferdinand "Pete", John, and an infant brother, Patrick Dumolt; one sister, Catherine Kiener; two half sisters, Goldie Starling and Mary Shipley; and two half brothers, Ernest Worden and Vince Dumolt.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, Somerset, with a Vigil service at 7:45 p.m.
