A funeral service for James Rodney Hutchinson, 57, of Frazeysburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the North Terrace Wesleyan Methodist Church, 925 Grove Road, Zanesville, with the Rev. William Blair officiating. Burial will be in Perryton Cemetery, Perryton.
Mr. Hutchinson died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2004, at his home. He was born Nov. 11, 1946, in Columbus.
Surviving is one sister, Rose (Leslie) Colin of Frazeysburg; one brother, Robert A. (Wandala) Hutchinson of Millersport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Hutchinson; his mother and stepfather, Robert L. and Oleta Hutchinson Sherman, with whom he was raised; and a brother, William Perry Hutchinson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Frazeysburg.

Susan Diane Settles

A graveside service will be held at a later date for Susan Diane Settles, 57, of San Jose, Calif., who died Jan. 6, 2003, in San Jose.
Mrs. Settles was born Nov. 9, 1946, in Newark. She was a 1964 graduate of Newark High School and had an associates degree in nursing.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Warren and Donna Settles of Houston, Texas, and David and Shanon Settles of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Linden, Madison and Holten Settles; mother, Betty Hitchcock of Newark; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and William Reidinger of Hanover Park, Ill.; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Linda Hitchcock of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Hitchcock, in 1984.

William W. Watson

A funeral service for William W. Watson, 74, of Granville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville, with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Newark.
Mr. Watson, who was a farmer as well as the owner of Watson Pump and Well Service in Granville for 40 years, died Jan. 6, 2004, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. He was born July 20, 1929, in Pataskala, to the late Lucille (Wilson) and Rex Watson.
Mr. Watson was a 1946 graduate of Pataskala High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Watson was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was active with the 4-H Band for many years.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Elnorah (Grady) Watson; daughters and sons-in-law, Laney and Ron McLaughlin of Granville, Carol Sue and Doug Gregory of Utica, and Marcee and Dan Gurr of Newark; grandchildren, Jena, Jared, Cory, Cara, and Hanna McLaughlin of Granville; sisters, Virginia Lees of Alexandria, and Emma Jeanne Philabaum of Pataskala; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Watson of Pataskala, Margaret and Gerald Barkow of Columbus, Connie and Don Richards of Hampton, Va., Barbara and Jim Grady of Frostproof, Fla., and Mary and Mike Grady of Newark; and, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, John Watson, Katherine Fankhauser, Rex Watson and Mary Watson.

Margaret Chilcote

A private graveside service for Margaret Chilcote, 88, of Utica, will be held in South Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Chilcote died Jan. 8, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Delaware, Ohio, to the late Harry and Purses (Atkinson) Traxler.
Mrs. Chilcote attended the Church of Christ and was a member of the Utica Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Alley of Escondido, Calif.; two grandchildren; and sister, Pat Richards of Fairborn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Chilcote, in 1977.

Jada Mackencee Stinson

A private graveside service for Jada Mackencee Stinson, infant, of Newark, will be held at a later date in Newark Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Jada was stillborn on Jan. 6, 2004, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She is the daughter of Fred Stinson Jr. and Anissa James, both of Newark.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Rachel Dunbar; maternal grandparents, Howard and Vickie James; maternal great-grandmothers, Rachel Trout and Stella Walker; maternal great-grandfather, Russell James; paternal grandmother, Ruby Harden Stinson; and paternal great-grandmother, Daisy Harden, all of Newark.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Adreana James; paternal grandfather, Fred Stinson Sr.; maternal great-grandfathers, Hobart Trout and Frank Walker.

Indus Mae Dennis

A funeral service for Indus Mae Dennis, 82, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery in Johnstown.
Mrs. Dennis, a volunteer at Licking Memorial Hospital, died Jan. 8, 2004, at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born Feb. 25, 1921, in Newark, to the late Clay and Emelie (Clark) Belt.
Mrs. Dennis retired from A and P Grocery Store after 27 years of service. She also worked at Long John Silver's in Heath for 14 years.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sarah Azbell of Newark; son, Vernon Breese of Newark; granddaughter, Stacey (Kerry) Mullin of Gahanna; and great-grandson, Peyton Mullin of Gahanna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Breese.

Paul Lipak

A graveside service for Paul Lipak 79, of Newark, will be at a later date at Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Lipak died Jan. 8, 2003, at Autumn Health Care. He was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Bladensburg, Ohio, to the late Mike and Bessie (Garrad) Lipak.
He worked as a truck driver for an asphalt company.
He is survived by nieces, Gayla Smith, of Tucson, Arizona, Marsha (James) Mills, of Newark, Debra (Jim) Layton, of Hebron, Cindy (Scott) Hottinger, of Newark; nephews, Todd (Irene) Veatch, of Frazeysburg, Harold (Juanita) Veatch, of Newark; sisters, Bonnie Miller, of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mary Kelly, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Barbara and Marcella.

Alice Robinett

A funeral service for Alice Robinett, of Pataskala, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Kauber-Miller Funeral Home, Pataskala, with Pastor Robert Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Pataskala Cemetery.
Mrs. Robinett passed away Jan. 8, 2004, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late William and Charlotte Morrison Taylor, in Thornport, Ohio.
Alice is survived by husband, Lawrence Robinett; two daughters, Diane (Jeff) Feil and Judy (Dale) Toney; two sons, Donald and Ronald Robinett; nine grandchildren, Allison (Fred) Davis, Anthony Di Cenzo, Eddie (Samantha) Feil, Justin Feil, Amber (Refiloe) Lethunya, Jonathan, Ross, Jason, and Zachery Robinett; four great grandchildren, Brie, Audri, Emma and Heali; one brother, Harold (Roxie) Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Brian Toney, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Slack died Jan. 8, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 16, 1967, in Zanesville, to James and Georgene Beal Slack Sr.
He was a 1986 graduate of Crooksville High School and an employee of Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery in Roseville.
Mr. Slack is survived by his wife, Julie Harrop Slack; a daughter, Whitney Slack, of the home; two sons, Dallas Slack and Tyler Slack, both of the home; his parents, of Crooksville; brothers, James (Carol) Slack, Jr., of Crooksville, Jeff (Stephanie) Slack, of Roseville; Kevin Slack, Kellee (Keri) Slack, of East Fultonham, and Dustin (Stephanie) Slack, of Crooksville; a sister, Kindle (Carl) Anker, of Crooksville.

Mrs. Bowell died Jan. 9, 2004, at the Heath Nursing Care Center. She was born July 8, 1915, in Newark, to the late Charles and Serena (Redman) Wise.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Ric & Pat (Peterson) Bowell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Karen, Vicki, Harry and Brian and their children.

Lawrence E. Williams

A funeral service for Lawrence E. Williams, 77, of Newark, will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with Rev. Ray Linn officiating. Committal service will follow at 3 p.m. at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville.
Mr. Williams died Jan. 9, 2004, at his home following an extended illness. He was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Wellston, Ohio, to the late David Williams and Martha Mae (Davis) Williams.
Mr. Williams retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation after 36 years of service. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He previously attended the Heath Church of Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Blanche (Burgess) Williams, of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Michael and Loida Williams, of Newark; brothers and sister-in-law, David Earl and Alice Williams, of Heath, and Robert Leo and Hilda, of Newark; sister-in-law, Clara Williams of Heath; niece and husband, Arlene and Jerry Price, of Newark; step son, Robert "Bob" Elswick, of Corning; step son and step daughter-in-law, Wayne and Janice Elswick, of Bladensburg.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by step son, Ross "Tom" Elswick, a partner in several building projects in Licking and Perry Counties.
