Funeral arrangements are incomplete for James T. McBee, 83, of Somerset, who died Aug. 11, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident.

Susan G. Blackburn
Dec. 27, 1938-Aug. 12, 2002
A funeral service for Susan G. Blackburn, 63, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service with Pastor Rick Searls officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Blackburn, who participated in ARC activities in the community, died Aug. 12, 2002, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 27, 1938, in Hardy, Ky., to the late Victor and Alice Justice (Dale) Blackburn.
Ms. Blackburn was retired from LICCO where she had worked in production.
There will be no calling hours observed.
Stanley G. Rippel
July 7, 1946-Aug. 12, 2002
A funeral service for Stanley G. Rippel, 56, of Logan, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel Hughes officiating.
Mr. Rippel, who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, died Aug. 12, 2002, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. He was born July 7, 1946, in Dover, Ohio.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Roberta (Shull) Rippel Ford and Ralph Ford of Newark; daughters, Amy Rippel and Robert Elton of Urbana, and Rae Lynn (Tom) Corbett of Newcomerstown; brothers and sisters, Janet (Daniel) Hughes, Marsha (Robert) Pfeifer, Steve (Diane) Ford, Doug Ford, David (Lisa) Ford, and Kris (Carrie) Ford; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Rippel; daughter, Marsha Wells; and sisters, Patricia Ford and Juanita Rippel.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.

Flossie Mitchell
Feb. 9, 1929-Aug. 13, 2002
A memorial service for Flossie Mitchell, 72, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Newland officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Mitchell, a former baker for Richloaf Baker, died Aug. 13, 2002, at the Arlington Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Alexander, to the late Ernest and Claire Ruth (Condit) Yost.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of The Life Church.
She is survived by three sons, Robert and Lawrence Booher, and Orville Frazier; two daughters, Flossie Prom and Carolyn Dusenbury; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Ernest Yost; and one sister, Estella Ash.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Booher, Everett Mitchell, and Orville Frazier; and two sisters.
No calling hours will be observed.
Grace I. Skeens

A funeral service for Grace I. Skeens, 73, of Louisa, Ky., was held on Aug. 5 at the Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa, Ky. Burial followed in Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, Ky.
Mrs. Skeens died Aug. 2, 2002, at her home. She was born July 28, 1929, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Dave and Mary Rice.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Don) Gregg and Sandy (Bill) Saad, both of Newark; two grandsons, Kevin (Beca) Saad of Newark, and Scott (Beth) Saad of Kettering; four great-grandchildren, Ali Saad, Penn Saad, Kennon Saad and Clara Saad, all of Kettering; two brothers, Bert Rice of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Glen Rice of Ashland, Ky.; and one sister, Madge Skeens of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Skeens; and sisters, Fanny Bond, Ruth Montgomery, and Maude Tackett.

Ricky Deskins
June 4, 1958-Aug. 14, 2002
A funeral service for Ricky Deskins, 44, of Newark, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, Newark, with Rev. Robert Knox officiating.
Mr. Deskins, the owner of Deskins Insulation, died Aug. 14, 2002, in an automobile accident. He was born June 4, 1958, in Selby, Ohio, to Ernest Deskins and Ann (Hinkle) Deskins-Mullens.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Newark Eagles, a member of the Newark Bowling and American Bowling associations, coached baseball for the Babe Ruth League and was an avid sportsman.
Mr. Deskins is survived by his mother; wife, Kathy (Spitzer) Deskins; sons, Scott (Teresa) Myers, of Louisiana, and Jeremy Myers, of Newark; a daughter, Carman (Chad) Hardway, of Newark; a brother, Kenny (Carol) Deskins, of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Wilma (John) McClintock, of New Lexington, Penny (Mark) Skeese, of Newark; and Sherry Sorsdale, of Newark; a grandchild, Christina Hardway; several nieces, great nieces, nephew, and long-time friend Randy Worth.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Thomas G. "TJ" Orris Jr.
July 16, 1987-Aug. 12, 2002
A graveside service for Thomas Orris Jr., 15, of Utica, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, with Pastor Bruce Hissong officiating.
TJ, who would have been in the ninth grade at Northridge High School, died Aug. 12, 2002, at his residence. He was born July 16, 1987, in Columbus, to Thomas G. and Veronica (VanFossen) Orris Sr. of Utica.
TJ was an avid hunter, fisherman, chess player, artist, euchre player, basketball player and liked building model cars.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by: three brothers and five sisters, Tracey Orris, Edward VanFossen, John Tanner Jr., Nichole Orris, Kelly Orris, Terry Orris, Theresa Orris and Teresa Crumbacker; and paternal grandmother, Clara Jean Orris.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, 179 Granville St., Newark.

Richard A. Ruth

A funeral service for Richard A. Ruth, 60, of Newark, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with Pastor Curtis Martin officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Memorial Gardens of Lilburn, Ga.
Mr. Ruth, who served in the U.S. Army, died Aug. 16, 2002, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born June 16, 1942, in York, Pa., to Mary E. (Wagaman) Ruth of Melbourne, Fla., and the late Richard M. Ruth.
Mr. Ruth worked as manager of Duplex Products and as an appraiser for Paul Kennedy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary (Ivers) Cartnal-Ruth, son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Debbie Ruth, of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Miles Moody, of Atlanta; step-children, Scott and Debbie Cartnal, Lori Ghiloni, Steven Cartnal, and Shae and Ellen Cartnal, all of Newark; 12 grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Ronald E. and Peggy Ruth, of York, Pa.; sister and brother-in-law, Charmayne and David Frey, of Melbourne, Fla.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Ann (Goodermuth) Ruth in 1985.
