Grayce B. Holmes

A funeral service for Grayce B. Holmes, 91, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Heath Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Forest lawn Cemetery, Columbus.
Mrs. Holmes, a graduate of Fremont-Ross High School and the Toledo School of Nursing, died Sept. 28, 2002 at Flint Ridge Nursing Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1910 in Fremont to the late Albert and Rose Binkley.
Mrs. Holmes retired in 1975 from Children's Hospital in Columbus where she worked as a nurse.
She was a member of the Hebron American Legion #285 Women's Auxiliary, a past-president of Baltimore VFW #3761 Women's Auxiliary, an honorary lifetime member of the Buckeye Lake Village Fire Department Association, a past-president of the International Refrigeration Service Engineers Society Auxiliary and a past-president of the Buckeye Lake Chamber of Commerce. She served as an officer for the Buckeye Lake Youth center, the Board of trustees for LEADS and for eight years on Buckeye Lake's village Council. She was an officer of the Republican Women's Clubs of Ohio and Licking County and the Licking County Welfare Advisory Board. She also served on the Licking County Committee on Aging and was a member of the Buckeye Lake Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, James V. Holmes; a daughter, Diane Robron of Sandusky; a step-daughter, Sandy Lang of Lake Choctow; a niece, Ronni (Roger) Stephenson of Mesquite, Texas; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Parvis, and one brother.

Kay F. Lee
Feb. 11, 2002-Sept. 27, 2002
Calling hours for Kay F. Lee, 60, of Newark, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lee died September 27, 2002 at the Selma Markowitz Center. She was born Feb. 11, 1942 to the late Loretta Campbell in Baltimore, Md.
She worked as an assembler at Newark Holophane for 36 years.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Lee; children Dawnell (Rick) Reece and Sandy (Jerry) Moore both of Newark, Bobbi (Chris) Sorrell of El Paso, Texas and Eric Lee of the home; sisters Virginia Burow and Sandi Mullinnix both of Rockledge, Fla.; grandchildren, Shanna Reece of Newark, Chase Kirk and Keshia Kirk of W.V. and Tasha Sorrell and Brooke Sorrell of El Paso, Texas; and several half brothers and sisters in the Zanesville area.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Denny Corbin, and a half-sister, Patricia Walton.

Shada O. Looney
Sept. 14, 1909-Sept. 28, 2002
A funeral service will be held for Shada O. Looney, 93, of Newark, at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, W.V. Burial will be in the Epling Chapel Cemetery, Looneyville, W.V.
Mrs. Looney died Sept. 28, 2002 at her daughter's residence. She was born Sept. 14, 1909 in Gandeeville, W.V.
She was married for 55 years and operated a farm with her husband, the late Lloyd Looney who died in 1982. She also quilted.
Mrs. Looney is survived by her daughter Ruby (George) Stone of Newark; a son, Lyle C. Looney of Columbus; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Looney was preceded in death by two sisters and one granddaughter.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Frances J. Nelson
May 12, 1918-Sept. 24, 2002
A private graveside services for Frances J. Nelson, 84, of Hebron, was held at the convenience of the family at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nelson, a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and quilting, and was of the Methodist faith, died Sept. 24, 2002, at Heath Nursing Care Center. She was born May 12, 1918, in New Castle, Pa., to the late Elija and Eliza (Blews) Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughter, Grace L. Nelson of Hebron; sons, Donald L. Nelson of Zanesville, and Robert R. Nelson of Newark; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Nelson Erlenbach of Millersport, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar W. Nelson who passed away in 1990; one son and five sisters.
Arrangements are being handled by the Boring-Sheridan funeral home, 56 S. Main St., Thornville, Ohio 43076.

Raymond L. Mayle
June 14, 1933-Sept. 28, 2002
A funeral service for Raymond L. Mayle, 69, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bolin Funeral Home, with Pastor Roger Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Mayle, a retired stock clerk for the Roper Corporation, died Sept. 28, 2002, at the Newark Health Care Center. He was born June 14, 1933, in Chesterhill, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Halie (Smith) Mayle.
Mr. Mayle was a member of the Church of God in Newark.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Dalton) Mayle; two sons, Ricky Mayle of Florence, Ky., and Kevin Mayle of Newark; two daughters, Debra (Roy) Price of Heath, and Linda (William) Cobun of Newark; four grandchildren; one brother, Emmet Mayle of Baltimore; and three sisters, Edna Fowler, Emma Louise Williams, and Velma Stevens, all of Zanesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

James Frederick Gleckler

A funeral service for James Frederick Gleckler, 88, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Gleckler, a lifelong farmer and former electrician at Gleckler Electric, died Sept. 30, 2002, at the Arlington Nursing Home. He was born July 31, 1914, in Licking County, to the late Harry W. and Leatha (Roe) Gleckler.
He is survived by a niece, Sandra (Alan) Miller of Newark; and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha M. Reynolds; and brother, Earl Gleckler.

Shada O. Looney

Mrs. Looney died Sept. 28, 2002, at her daughter's residence. She was born Sept. 14, 1909, in Gandeeville, W.Va.

Darlene Persinger

A graveside service for Darlene Persinger, 61, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery, Ohio 13, N.
Mrs. Persinger, who was employed for 14 years as a supervisor at Dayton Precision, died Sept. 29, 2002, at her residence. She was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Newark, to Virginia (Divine) McCandlish of Newark, and the late Edward Wisener.
Mrs. Persinger helped care for her mother, and loved cats and horses.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Jeff) Beumel of Newark; sister, Virginia (Tom) Gilbert of Normal, Ill.; brother, Edward (Carol) Wisener of Madison, Wis.; and two grandchildren, Logan Beumel and Jeff Beumel Jr.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Persinger, who died on Dec. 2, 1976.
