A graveside service for Helen F. Spark, 85, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Jacksontown Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Winfield Strout officiating.
Mrs. Spark, a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where she was active in the Afternoon Circle, died Oct. 16, 2002, at the LPN Healthcare Facility. She was born Dec. 2, 1916, in Newark, to the late Clarence J. and Anna E. (Knoedler) Kinser.
Mrs. Spark was a retired registered nurse and physical therapist, having worked at the Cleveland Clinic for many years.
She is survived by her sisters, Pearl M. Loughman, Thelma K. McFarlane, both of Newark, and Gladys H. Weiher of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Spark, in 1978; sister, Sarah M. Jones; and brother, Clarence R. Kinser.
There will be no calling hours observed.

Chad Brandon Mohler

A graveside service for Chad Brandon Mohler, 26, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating.
Mr. Mohler, who was a self-employed concrete construction worker, died Oct. 13, 2002, in Clarksburg, W.Va., as a result of an auto-pedestrian accident. He was born July 9, 1976, in Newark, to Roger L. Jeffers and Rosemary Wiseman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christie Mohler; son, Brandon Mohler; stepson, Jose Parsons, all of Newark; daughter, Kacie Mae Rice of Goodhope, W.Va.; sisters, Erika J. Moss of Newark and Jennifer Jeffers of Fairfield Beach; and brother, Roger Jeffers Jr.

William L. Pitts

A funeral service for William L. Pitts, 59, of Lexington Park, Md., formerly of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery.
Mr. Pitts, a retired Air Force Captain, died Oct. 13, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Pitts; daughters, Andrea Hoskins of North Carolina, Holly Wheeler of Thornville, Nancy Lynch of Groveport and Janine Pitts Keeler of Newark; sons, William of Alexandria, Va., and Robert Pitts of Eagan, Md.; and five grandchildren.

Hunter Logan (Braunbeck) Ross

A funeral service for Hunter Logan (Braunbeck) Ross, infant son of Tracy Ross and Melissa L. Braunbeck, will be held at noon Monday at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 N. Green Wave Drive, Newark, with the Rev. Robert Ghiloni officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Hunter died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Children's Hospital in Columbus. He was born April 11, 2001.
He was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Herbert and Sherry Braunbeck, of Newark; paternal grandparents, Delbert and Theresa Ross, of Whitehall; maternal great-grandmother, Irene R. Braunbeck, of Newark; maternal great-grandparents, Donald and Gwen Wheeler, of Newark; maternal great-great-grandmother, Rose Kozma, of Newark; special friends, Herbert Jr. and Tony; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Betty J. Baruxes

A funeral service for Betty J. Baruxes, 75, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Baruxes, who was a legal secretary, died Oct. 17, 2002, at her residence. She was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Newark, to the late Fred and Dorothy (Shaffer) Maidel.
She was a 1944 graduate of Newark High School and a member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Maidel, of Newark; step-brother, James Paul, of Newark; half-brother, Tommy Maidel, of Newark; nephew, George (Lynn) Baruxes), of Newark; and additional nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Baruxes, and stepbrother, Donnie Paul.

Mary Louise Haynes

A funeral service for Mary Louise Haynes, 79, of Newark, will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating.
Mrs. Haynes, who was a homemaker, died Oct. 17, 2002, at Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Newark.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Murl and Janice Haynes, of Tampa, Fla., Norman and Debbie Haynes and Butch and Tia Haynes, all of Newark; daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Charles Mitchell, of Ashland; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Haynes; son, Ralph Edward Haynes; and daughter, Louella Jean Perone.

A funeral service for Mary Jo Lehman, 81, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karen K. Walters and the Rev. Michael Gladfelter officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lehman, a retired cafeteria cashier at the Licking County Joint Vocational School, died Oct. 20, 2002, at her residence. She was born May 29, 1921, in Jacksontown, to the late Dwight and Ethel Irene (Smith) Griffith.
Mrs. Lehman was a member of Cox United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women, where she was the former secretary and treasurer. She had served as a delegate to the United Methodist Conference, and was also a member of the Wednesday Morning Bible Study and a member of the Card Club.
She is survived by her children, Roger R. (Sandy) Lehman of West Jefferson, James E. (Ruth) Lehman of Hanover, Robert D. (Hannah) Lehman of Newark, Richard N. (Valerie) Lehman of Newark, Beverley J. Moseley of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles D. Lehman of Fairfield; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Lehman, who died on Aug. 23, 1990; two brothers, Robert and Richard Griffith; and one grandson, Travis Lehman.

John "Pops" Adams

A funeral service for John W. "Pops" Adams, 71, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be observed.
Mr. Adams, a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Korean conflict, died Oct. 20, 2002, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Good Hope, W.Va., to the late Ira and Ethel (Lehue) Adams.
Mr. Adams was formerly employed as a truck driver by the City of Newark Street Department. He had also been a truck driver for A-1 Mobile Storage and H.W. Martin and Son, from which he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Nina M. (Alestock) Adams; children and their spouses, Sharon (Randy) Snider of Junction City, Roger (JoAnn) Adams, Larry Adams and fiancee Mona Howard, and Mary (Roger) McVicker, all of Newark; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charles (Mary) Adams of Maryland, Robert (Rita) Adams of South Carolina, James Adams and Jackie Adams, both of Missouri, George Adams of Texas, Trudy (Jack) Stoner of Florida, and Donna Adams of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
