Thomas Edward "TJ" Johnson Sr.

A funeral service for Thomas Edward "TJ" Johnson Sr., 70, of Nashport, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Heath Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox and the Rev. Richard Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be observed.
Mr. Johnson, who retired in 1984 from Larson Manufacturing where he had been a set-up man, died Nov. 12, 2002, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born July 25, 1932, in Newark, to the late George Thomas Johnson and Inez Naomi (Fowler) Castle.
Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard, where he had served for two years, holding the rank of Corporal. He played bass guitar and sang country music and for the past eight years had played at Brenda Sue's in Baltimore. He was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Norma L. (Whyde) Johnson; children and their spouses, Linda M. Cook of Heath, Dianna L. and Jerry Jackson of Newark, Thomas E. Johnson Jr. of Delaware, Sandra K. and Tom Bradford of Kalamazoo, Mich.; George Thomas and Dalene Johnson of Rhime, Ga., Tonya S. and Lonnie Higgins of Hanover, Tracy E. and David Hacker of Newark, and Tammy J. and Brad Green of Newark; 14 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita J. and Russell Bishop of Newark, Elizabeth "Peachy" and Eugene Varrasso of Heath, and Brenda Sue and George Sheets of Baltimore; brother, Otis "Junior" Castle of Youngstown; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Otis Castle; brother, Bernard Castle; sister, Shirley Foley; and son-in-law, Donald Cook.

Sarah Jane Patch

A funeral service for Sarah Jane Patch, 72, of Zanesville, formerly of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald E. Myers officiating.
Mrs. Patch, who retired from the Newark Air Force Base, died Nov. 12, 2002, at her residence. She was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Cumberland, to the late Thomas Chelmer and Sarah Belle (Phelps) Yoho.
She is survived by her sons, Perl Edwin Careins Jr., George Alan Careins and Ronald Jay Careins, all of Newark, Charles Richard (Cathy) Careins of Midland, Texas, and Billy Kyle (Amista) Careins of St. Louisville; daughters, Linda Sue (DeWitt) Gause and Sandra May (Murray) Stuart, both of Newark, Crystal Jane (George) Careins of St. Louisville, and Anita Kay (George) Clark and Sarah Belle (Bill) Metcalf, both of Zanesville; sisters, Mary Johnson of Nebraska, and Mabel Fitzgerald of Reinersville; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and beloved pet, Baby Ann.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Charles Yoho; sister, Arlene Mitik; one infant sister; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Ruby Grace Sesser

A graveside service for Ruby Grace Sesser, 87, of Utica, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Patterson Cemetery, with the Rev. Marvin Haught officiating.
Mrs. Sesser, a homemaker who lived in Homer for more than 50 years, died Nov. 12, 2002, at the Whispering Hills Care Center. She was born Sept. 24, 1915, in West Virginia, to the late Howard and Lela (Smith) Raines.
She is survived by her daughter, Lela Wilson of Granville; son, Dan Sesser of Davenport, Fla.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kelly and Ruth Raines and Keith and Florence Raines, all of Utica; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Herbert McVay of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Tricia Hufford of Homer, Alicia Wilson of Westerville, and Michael Sesser and Mandy Sesser, both of Davenport, Fla.; and seven great-grandchldren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles Vincent Sesser, who died in July of 1999; brother, Ed Raines; and sisters, Golda McDaniel and Gertrude Raines.
No calling hours will be observed.

Arlene Alice Theobald

A funeral service for Arlene Alice Theobald, 79 of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Theobald, who was a housewife, died Nov. 12, 2002, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Custer, Ohio, to the late Claude and Bertha (Browning) Courtright.
Mrs. Theobald was a member of United Brethern Church of Willard, Grotto, Eagles, Moose, and E.U.B.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Pat) Stanfield of Carol Stream, Ill.; Jerry Marvin Stanfield of Dallas, Texas and Rick Stanfield of San Bernadino, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Gillespie of Fort Myers, Fla.; brother, Harold Coutright of Willard; several nieces and nephews; and three stepchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Theobald; two brothers; and one sister.

Sandra Sue 'Sandy' Bibart

A funeral service for Sandra Sue "Sandy" Bibart, 60, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, with Deacon Charles Stevens officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Bibart, an avid painter and quilter, died Nov. 15, 2002, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Newark, to the late Harold and Bonnilee (Priest) Leslie.
She worked for many years as a customer service representative at RRD Direct, formerly Communicolor.
Ms. Bibart is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Richard Todd and Becky Bibart, of Waterford, Conn.; her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Matt Harrell, of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Stone and Drake Harrell, and Meghan Bibart; brother and sister-in-law, James and Pat Leslie, of Newark; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Roger McFarland, of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah J. Potter

A funeral service for Sarah J. Potter, 108, of Croton, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, Johnstown, with the Rev. Durward Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Condit Cemetery.
Mrs. Potter, a member of Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church, died Nov. 15, 2002, at her home. She was born March 28, 1894, in Buchannan County, Va., to the late Grant and Mary Davis.
She is survived by her two children, John R. Wilson and Glenola J. (Harold) Ullom, both of Croton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Potter was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Wilson; second husband, Glenn Potter; five children, Kenton, Winton, Paul, Dale Potter and Juanita Wilson Scholl; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Dr. Joseph H. Orr
March 27, 1945-Nov. 14, 2002
A funeral service for Dr. Joseph H. Orr, 57, of Alexandria, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ at Alexandria, with Kevin Hull officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Dr. Orr, a chiropractor in Pataskala for more than 30 years, died Nov. 14, 2002, at St. Ann's Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 27, 1945, in Heath, to the late Harmon J. and Mildred G. Orr.
Dr. Orr was a member of the first graduating class at Heath High School and a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Orr was also a charter member of the Church of Christ at Alexandria, a former member of the Northridge School Board, inducted into the Ohio State 4-H Hall of Fame, a Licking County Sheep Improvement Committee member, a 4-H committee member, and a 4-H advisor for 21 years.
Dr. Orr is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ona M. Orr; five children, Dr. David H. (Karla) Orr, of Frazeysburg, Dr. Julia A. (Clint) Allerton, of Alexandria, Dr. Gregory J. Orr, of Heath, Dr. Michael J. (Sienna) Orr, of Alexandria, and Deborah L. Orr, of Ada, Ohio; a sister, JoAnn Orr, of Columbus; a brother, Robert M. (Connie) Orr, of Utica; three grandchildren, Taylor, Trina and Clayton Orr; aunt and uncle Henry and Roberta Whitehead, of Granville; and many nieces and nephews.
Dr. Orr was preceded in death by his son, Steven J. Orr.
