Herman Dunlap

A funeral service for Herman Dunlap, 86, of Utica, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Law-Baker Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Dunlap, who retired from North Fork Schools, died Nov. 19, 2002, in Mount Vernon. He was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Utica, to the late Claude H. and Lena B. (Wright) Dunlap.
Mr. Dunlap served as an Army medic during World War II.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald E. and Dolores Dunlap and Dana L. and Melony Dunlap, all of Newark; daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Gary Blakely of Utica; brother and sister-in-law, William O. and Darlene Dunlap of Utica; and three grandchildren, Michelle (Kenny) Parks of Mount Vernon, Zachary Dunlap of Mount Vernon, and Taylor Dunlap of Iowa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Dunlap.

Charles "Chuck" Wiard
Nov. 18, 2002
A funeral service for Charles "Chuck" Wiard, 53, of Centerburg, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Centerburg United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Centerburg, with Pastor Gary L. Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
Mr. Wiard, a mental health counselor for Moundbuilders Guidance Center in Mount Vernon, died Nov. 18, 2002, at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
Mr. Wiard was a member of Centerburg United Methodist Church, Mount Zion Lodge 9 F&AM in Mount Vernon, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and Aladdin Shrine Temple, and Troop 383 Boy Scout Council. He graduated from Spartanburg Junior College, S.C., Scarritt College of Nashville, Tenn., and he received his masters degree from the University of Tennessee of Knoxville.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Wiard; children, Ann, Ashley and Martin; sister, Becky (Dave) Hollis of Illinois; and nephews, Brad and Todd Hollis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Wiard.

Richard L. Field Sr.
June 17, 1932-Nov. 20, 2002
A funeral service for Richard L. Field Sr., 70, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 2569 Mount Vernon Road, St. Louisville, with Pastor Frederich Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Field, a retired truck driver from Refiners Terminal and Transport, died Nov. 20, 2002, at his residence. He was born June 17, 1932, in Newark, to the late Charles and Nora (White) Field.
Mr. Field was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his sons, Richard L. (Sharon) Field Jr. and Charles R. Field, both of Newark; grandchildren, Stephanie, Richard III and Matthew Field; sisters, Florence Stern of Zanesville, and Martha McGee of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Louise Field; two sons; one brother, Robert I; and sister, Peggy.

J. Lucille Buckenberger

A funeral service for J. Lucille Buckenberger, 81, of Utica, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Highwater United Chuch of Christ, with the Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Johnstown.
Mrs. Buckenberger, who was a member of Highwater United Church of Christ, died Nov. 20, 2002, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born March 4, 1921, in Circleville, to the late Guy and Hazel (George) Newlun.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann (David) Nash of Utica; grandson, Daryl Nash of Ferrum, Va.; sister, Joann (Bill) Geiger of Pataskala; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Buckenberger; son, John Kenneth Buckenberger; two brothers, Ray and Donald Newlun; and one sister, Betty Newlun.

Kelly Edwin Goss
April 3, 1935-Nov. 14, 2002
A memorial service for Kelly Edwin Goss, 67, of Fort Worth, Texas, was held on Nov. 18 in Greenwood Chapel.
Dr. Goss, a physician, died Nov. 14, 2002, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born April 3, 1935, in Logan, Ohio.
Dr. Goss graduated from Newark High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Miami University of Ohio and completed his studies at Northwestern University Medical School in 1961. His training continued with an internship at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, followed by a four-year internal medicine residency at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Hospital in Texas.
Dr. Goss served in the United States Air Force Medical Corps for 20 years, culminating his military career at the rank of colonel and earning many military honors. Rather than retiring, he founded his own internal medicine practice in Fort Worth. For 22 years he had meticulously cared for each and every patient. He was a selfless humanitarian, who always needed to do more for others.
Free time was precious and his was devoted to his family and friends. Among his joys were daily walks with his labrador retriever friend, Sydney; supporting Sister Cities activities of his wife, Anne, of Trier, Germany; sharing his loving, wise and funny way with his daughters, Tina and Mitzi; puttering around the house; relaxing at his favorite spot on the Brazos River; and playing with his beloved 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter, Gemma.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anne; daughters, Michelle A. Goss and Tina R. Goss and husband, Peter Klimko; granddaughter, Gemma Goss; sister, Eileen Funk and husband, Charles; and brother, Gail Goss and wife, Rose.

Thomas T. Lilly

A private memorial mass for Thomas T. Lilly, 89, of Newark, formerly of San Marcos, Calif., will be held at St. Frances DeSales Catholic Church in Newark, with the Rev. David M. Orians officiating.
Mr. Lilly, who retired as Ohio regional manager for the Aetna Insurance Company, died Nov. 18, 2002, at the LPN Health Care Facility in Newark. He was born March 4, 1913, in Varina, Iowa, to the late Raymond and Cynthia (Van Horn) Lilly.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Richard Zenko of Granville, and Ann and John Masterson of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Nelson and Donna Lilly of Evergreen, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death be his wife of 54 years, Marion (Nelson) Lilly; their 2-1/2- year-old son, Tommy; three brothers; and three sisters.
The McPeek Funeral Home in Granville assisted the family with arrangements.

Vera L. Henderson

A funeral service for Vera L. Henderson, 79, of Philo, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, with Father Thomas Di Fede officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery.
Mrs. Henderson, a homemaker and member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, died Nov. 20, 2002, at Bethesda Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Zanesville, to the late Elmer and Thelma (Waxler) Frame Sr.
Mr. Henderson was a member of the Rosary Alter Society, bowling league, Cub & Girl Scouts and PTA.
She is survived by her husband, John Paul Henderson, whom she married on June 8, 1942; sons, John Paul (Tarra) Henderson II, of Newark, Stanley A. Henderson, of Atloona, Fla., and Marcus S. (Marlene) Henderson, of Zanesville; daughter, Paula A. (Chris) Kossoudji, of Dayton; sisters, Elaine Hillman, of Indiana, Brenda (Steve) Scott, of Florida, and Doris Adolph, of Zanesville; brother, David Frame of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; brother, Elmer, Dickie and Steven Frame; and sisters, Jean West and Dixie Yonley.

McCullough, of Columbus, and Amy McCullough, of Orange Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Michael (Ronette) Hare, of Waynesburg, Pa., Matthew (Carrie) Hare, of Newark, Meaghan (David) Long, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Brian (Peggy) Wise and Michelle (Rex) Multer; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Carl M. Mathias, of Clyde; and sister, Mary C. Engler, of Galloway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James William and Marguerite Loretta Mathias; husband, Charles L. McCullough; sister, Alice Fleckner; and brothers, James, Robert and Frank Mathias.
