A graveside service for Edwin McHenry, 90, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Newark Memorial Gardens, with Deacon Robert Ghiloni officiating.
Mr. McHenry, who worked for many years as a lineman for Ohio Power Company, died Nov. 21, 2002, at the Heath Nursing Care Center. He was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Parkersburg, W.Va.
Mr. McHenry was former president of the Electrical Union, and a member of the Masonic Crusader Lodge and Eastern Star White Shrine.
He is survived by his son, Edwin McHenry Jr., of Newark; daughters, Robin McHenry, of Coshocton, and Linda Campbell, of Bellefonetaine; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Daugherty, in 1999; one brother; and one sister.

J. Lucille Buckenberger

A funeral service for J. Lucille Buckenberger, 81, of Utica, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Highwater United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Johnstown.
Mrs. Buckenberger, who was a member of Highwater United Church of Christ, died Nov. 20, 2002, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born March 4, 1921, in Circleville, to the late Guy and Hazel (George) Newlun.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann (David) Nash, of Utica; grandson, Daryl Nash, of Ferrum, Va.; sister, Joann (Bill) Geiger, of Pataskala; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Buckenberger; son, John Kenneth Buckenberger; two brothers, Ray and Donald Newlun; and one sister, Betty Newlun.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church, Dutch Lane Road.

Joseph Charles Lombardo

A Mass of Christian burial for Joseph Charles Lombardo, 70, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with Msgr. Paul Enke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Lombardo, a parishioner of St. Edward Catholic Church, died Nov. 20, 2002, at the Flint Ridge Nursing Center. He was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Cleveland, to the late Joseph G. and Jenny R. (Catalano) Lombardo.
Mr. Lombardo served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He worked for many years as a chemist at Owens Corning and was also a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maureen (Dempsey) Lombardo; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Gregory and Peggy Lombardo, of Newark, Michael and Karen Lombardo, of Reynoldsburg, Tod Charles and Karen Lombardo, of Newark, and Edward Watson, of Newark; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Grace Watson of Newark, Nancy and Mark Tochman of Northville, Mich., Patricia and Robert Prior, of Columbus, Catherine Granger, of Charlotte, N.C., and Maureen and Eddie Conley, of Boston, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, J. Rita Newton, of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph F. Reight

A funeral service for Joseph F. Reight, 89, of Gahanna, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Road, Gahanna, with Pastor Ron Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Mifflin Township Cemetery.
Mr. Reight, retired president of J & F Machine Specialty, died Nov. 20, 2002, at Garden Manor Retirement Village in Middletown. He was a member of Reynoldsburg Lodge 340 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Dayton Antioch Shrine Temple, S.M.E., Columbus Musician Union, Gahanna V.F.W. Post 4719 and Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his children, Susan Klein, of Orlando, Fla., Lennia (Kenneth) Hammond, of Trenton, and Fred (Dorothy) Reight, of Hebron; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, George C. (Anne) Reight of Decatur, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Emig) Reight.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where a Masonic service will be held at 4 p.m.

Lewis L. Thomas

A funeral service for Lewis L. Thomas, 82, of Alexandria, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Kirkersville Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Tom Myers officiating.
Mr. Thomas, who served in the U.S. Air Force Fire Squadron during World War II, died Nov. 23, 2002, at The Inn at SharonBrooke. He was born April 14, 1920, in Old Hickory, Tenn., to the late Sidney I. and Elsie (Tramel) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a member of the VFW Post 3761 in Baltimore.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Mike Slane of Toledo; granddaughter, Courtney Slane; stepchildren, Betty (Weldon) Cheatham of Dayton, and Bonnie (John) Pettigrew of Kirkersville; several stepgrandchildren; sister, Lee Walters of Stoutsville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nathalia Thomas; stepson, Larry Runyon; and one sister.

Sylvia Edris Rice (Sutton)

A graveside service for Sylvia Edris Rice (Sutton), 90, of Columbus, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Rice, who graduated from Utica High School in 1930 and the Newark Hospital School of Nursing in 1933, died Dec. 6, 2002. She was born June 12, 1912, in Utica, to the late Calvin and Mable Lamson.
She worked for many years in central Ohio and Florida, and had been a resident of Westminster Thurber Community of Columbus for several years.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, John and Sally Sutton of Granville, and David Sutton of Columbus; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Sutton and son, Richard Sutton of Newark; and her second husband, Norman Rice of Clearwater, Fla.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 E. Main St., Columbus.

Private, graveside services will be held for David Jacob Slabaugh, infant son of Joseph and Margaret (Skeese) Slabaugh.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Presley Slabaugh; paternal grandparents, Jacob and Maomi Slabaugh; and maternal grandparents, K. David and Helen Skeese.
