Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Geneva (Jordan) White, 87, of Newark, who died Dec. 9, 2002, at the Newark Healthcare Centre.

Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, 179 Granville St., Newark, is in charge of arrangements.

Mary A. Skeen

Feb. 4, 1919-Dec. 8, 2002

A funeral service for Mary A. Skeen, 83, of Thornville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Buckeye Lake. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg.

Ms. Skeen, who attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Buckeye Lake, died Dec. 8, 2002 at Mount Carmel East Medical Center, Columbus. She was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Columbus.

Ms. Skeen was a member of the Millersport Lioness Club.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, 56 S. Main St., Thornville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of choice.

Ida M. Sheboy

Dec. 8, 2002

A funeral service for Ida M. Sheboy, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Ms. Sheboy, a member of the Lutheran faith, died Dec. 8, 2002, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cleveland to the late Louis and Mary (Duzik) Sheboy.

Ms. Sheboy worked for many years as a supervisor for the Licking County Department of Human Services. She had also worked at various other county offices.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Margaret Welsh of Newark; two nephews and their spouses, Greg and Sharon Northrop of Bucyrus, and Bruce and Connie Axline of Newark; two great-nieces; one great-great-niece; and one great-great-nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Sheboy and Irene Northrop; and brothers-in-law, H. Van Northrop and George Welsh.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home, 141 N. Green Wave Drive, Newark.

The family requests memorials to "Gifts for Yanks."

Sandra Faye Harris

Feb. 28, 1961-Dec. 8, 2002

A funeral service for Sandra Faye Harris, 41, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Big Run Cemetery.

Ms. Harris, who was a nurse aid at the Newark Health Care Centre, died Dec. 8, 2002, at Arlington Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 28, 1961, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Stanley and Florilla (Jenkins) Harris.

Ms. Harris was a member of Pataskala Apostolic Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Belinda (Phillip) Black of Newark, Judith Harris Barker of Heath, and Paula Harris Biars of Wheelersburg; brother, Gary Jenkins of Newark; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her church family.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.

James S. Kreager

Dec. 1, 2002

A memorial service for James S. Kreager, 74, will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 28 at Resurrection Cemetery, North High Street, Lewis Center.

Mr. Kreager died Dec. 1, 2002, in Phoenix, Ariz.

He is survived by a brother, Robert Kreager of Pickerington; and nieces, Marla (Jerry) Martin of Newark, and Shirley (Sal) Dell'Anno of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Pearl Kreager; brother, Billy Dean of Gratiot; and sister, Virginia Brearley of Newark.

Eleanore Hattie Carter

Feb. 21, 1923-Dec. 3, 2002

A funeral service for Eleanore Hattie Carter, 79, of 781 Meadows Drive, Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Criss-Schoediner Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter, who retired from the Air Force Base as a secretary, died Dec. 3, 2002, in Manassas, Va. She was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Michigan, to the late Thomas Chrusciel and Mary (Pociaski) Chrusciel.

Mrs. Carter was known by many as "The Lady That Walked." She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and was an avid reader.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James T. and Vicki A. Carter of Manassas, Va.; grandson, Brandon Michael Carter, a freshman at the University of South Florida; and sisters, Hattie Bonk and Helen Pieciak of Detroit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carter Jr., in 1965; one brother; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark.

Dwight A. Moore

Sept. 26, 1915-Dec. 9, 2002

A funeral service for Dwight A. Moore, 87, of New Lexington, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenny Brown officiating. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.

Mr. Moore, a 1933 graduate of Central High School in Columbus, died Dec. 9, 2002, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. He was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Mansfield.

Mr. Moore was a retired dozer operator for Central Ohio Coal Mine. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Lexington, and was a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Jean (Henderson) Moore of Newark, whom he married on June 28, 1945; four sons, Danny (Angela) Moore of Conway, S.C., Dwight David (Judy) Moore of New Lexington, Duane (Elaine) Moore of Thornville, and Doug (Jodi) Moore of Conway, S.C.; three daughters, Donna Valentine of Sugar Grove, Diana Lynn Moore of New Lexington, and Dawn (Donald) Smith of Somerset; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special puppy, Fifi.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Myer.

Fiends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington.

Martha B. Wright

Jan. 25, 1922-Dec. 10, 2002

A funeral service for Martha B. Wright, 80, of St. Louisville, formerly of Jacksontown, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McPeek Funeral Home in Granville, with Pastor Paul H. Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery in Granville.

Mrs. Wright, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Newark, died Dec. 10, 2002, at the LPN Health Care Facility in Newark. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Lockburne to the late Clarence and Anna May (Kniece) Good.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Carol Wright of Newark, and Larry and Linda Wright of Johnstown; daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Hummel Keim, and Karen and Tim Davino, all of St. Louisville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Mae and Robert Banfill of Thurston, and Marien and James Marietta of Heath; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charlie O. Wright, who died Oct. 8, 2001; one daughter; two brothers; and one sister.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville.

Marguerite Truman Evans

June 7, 1916-Dec. 10, 2002

A funeral service for Marguerite Truman Evans, 86, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Vicki Zust officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans, who was reared in Akron and graduated from Garfield High School, died Dec. 10, 2002, at the Newark Health Care Centre. She was born June 7, 1916, in Athens, to the late William H. and Caroline T. (Ruston) Truman.

Mrs. Evans graduated from the University of Akron, where she majored in English, Latin and Greek. As a teacher for 25 years of both Latin and English, she was fondly admired and respected by her many students who found themselves desiring to learn under her guidance. Prior to her marriage, she taught at Frankfort and New Moorefield in Ohio and in Garvey, Calif., Following her marriage, she taught in Grandview Heights, Columbus, at Alexander High School in Athens County, and for 10 years in the English Department of Ohio University.

During her 34 years in Athens, Mrs. Evans was an active member of the Athena Delphian Club, the Pallas Club, the Social Literary Club, the CCL, and the Tuesday Club of Athens. She was also a member of the Trustees Academy of Ohio University, and an active supporter and former president of the Friends of the Trisolini (ART) Gallery of Ohio University.

Mrs. Evans was a 64-year member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, a member of the Episcopal Church, the ECW, the Licking County Genealogical Society, and the Licking County Historical Society. She was an active volunteer for several years in the Licking County ABLE program devoted to tutoring adults in reading.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. John J. Evans, professor emeritus of Ohio University; a son, John W. Evans and his wife, Marcia of Granville; and a grandson, J. Thane Evans of Granville.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.
