Joan (Linn) Tomson
July 14, 1932-June 3, 2003
A graveside service for Joan (Linn) Tomson, 70, of Newark, will be held at a later date at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa, Fla., with a priest from the Sacred Heart Church officiating.
Mrs. Tomson, who was Catholic by faith and had been involved in marketing for the last seven years, died June 3, 2003, at Newark Health Care Center, following a two month illness. She was born July 14, 1932, in Wyandotte, Mich., to the late Elmer and Helen (Barnisky) Linn.
Mrs. Tomson enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos.
She is survived by her three sons, "R.J" L. (Kimberly) Thomson Jr. of Battlecreek, Mich., Thomas J. Tomson of Newark, and Johnny J. (Sue) Tomson of Columbus; four grandchildren, Jessica Mirgon, Nicholas Tomson, Mandy Tomson and Alexander Tomson; two great-grandchildren, Alanis Mirgon and Jenna Mirgon; sister, Patricia "Patsy" Linn Alvarez of Tampa, Fla.; and brother, James Linn, M.D. of Scottsdale, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter; and one brother, Sonny Linn.
There will be no public calling hours observed.

Fred L. Mitchell

A memorial open house and a celebration of life service for Fred L. Mitchell, 17, of Pataskala, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kauber-Miller Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala.
Fred died June 1, 2003, at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born April 5, 1986, in Columbus, and was welcomed into the Mitchell family in June of 1994.
He is survived by his parents, David and Kathy Vincent Mitchell; sister, Karlei Mitchell; brother, Jeff Mitchell; grandparents, Ray and Marge Vincent and Sharon (Tom) Fisher; aunts and uncles, Steve (Tammy) Vincent, Dan (Karen) Vincent, Cyndi Vincent, Russ (Anissa) Mitchell, and Lisa (Don) Kaylor; 11 cousins, Jacala, Sara, Michael, Amelia, Sarah, Laura, Noah, Elijah, Isaiah, Jodi and Daniel.

Pauline Frances Baker

A funeral service for Pauline Frances Baker, 78, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Baker, a retired driver for the Licking County Aging Program, died June 3, 2003, at Autumn Health Care. She was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Newark, to the late Oris D. and Marie (Neibert) Farabee.
Mrs. Baker was a member of Newark Eagles and Newark Moose.
She is survived by her sons, Delbert D. Baker Sr. of Newark, Ronald E. (Roxanne) Baker of Heath, Robert J. (Cheryl) Baker of Heath, and Charles W. (Sharry) Baker of Newark; daughters, Hazel (Charles) Harris of Newark, and Mary (Gene) Willey of Heath; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; stepfather, William E. Phelps of Newark; and daughter-in-law, Sheryl Baker of Newark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert W. Baker; son, Gary L. Baker; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Theresa A. Cochran, 83, of Lock, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lock Federated Church, with Pastor Douglas Sweet officiating. Burial will follow in Lock Cemetery.
Mrs. Cochran, a former clerk of Milford Township, died June 3, 2003, at Whispering Hills Care Center, Mount Vernon. She was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Knox County, to the late Burt and Della (Wenger) Hawkins.
Mrs. Cochran was a member of Lock Federated Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Cochran, whom she married in 1974; children, Connie (Barry) Butz, Harold (Ann) Cochran and Ted Cochran (friend Theresa and her son, Kyle Roy); grandchildren, Craig Butz, Mark Butz (Kate Treap), Eric (Kim) Cochran, Elaine (Barrett) Hileman, Kerry (Jason) Mintier, Kylene Cochran (Mat Taylor), Kurt Cochran, Clint Cochran, Chase Cochran and Eli Cochran; stepgrandchildren, Stacy, Amie and Jon; and sister, Martha Wagner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Cochran, whom she married in 1942, and who died in 1966; brothers, Forrest and Howard Hawkins; and sisters, Eva Warner Hoar and Ruth Bruce.

A funeral service for Esta Mae Borror, 95, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Carolyn Hoskinson officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Borror, a homemaker and member of White Chapel United Methodist Church, died June 3, 2003, at the LPN Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 3, 1908, in Newark, to the late James L. and Etta (Toothman) Cullison.
Mrs. Borror enjoyed gardening and being a seamstress.
She is survived by her three stepdaughters, Joanne Borror of Newark, Marlene Dyker of Lovettsville, Va., and Jeannine (James) Murphy of Hebron; nephew, Ward Cullison; nieces, Ellen Klepinger, Mary LeFever and Bernice LeFever; six stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Barnard, in February of 1973; second husband, Kenneth Borror, in December of 1992; a stepgrandchild; one sister; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Russell Eugene 'Rusty' Yarger

A funeral service for Russell Eugene "Rusty" Yarger, 35, of Somerset, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Raddatz officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Reform Cemetery, Thornville.
Mr. Yarger, a 1986 graduate of Sheridan High School, died June 2, 2003, at the Somerset Center Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 28, 1967, in Zanesville, to Paul E. Yarger Sr. of Glenford and Sandra Shelly Parker of Lancaster.
Mr. Yarger was the 1976 Leukemia Boy of the Year. He was also a Hopewell Township Fire Department volunteer, and an avid Rusty Wallace NASCAR fan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Paul and Betty Yarger Jr. of Glenford; sister, Jetta M. Coble of Thornville; special friend, Shawna Watts of Bremen; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and nieces and nephews, Ben Coble, Misty Jenkins, and Jennifer and Zack Binckley.

A funeral service for John L. Fraley, 58, of Johnstown, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arthur Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Union Township Cemetery, Morristown.
Mr. Fraley, who retired on February 1, 2001, after 32 years with General Electric Specialty Materials in Worthington, died June 3, 2003, at The Ohio State Medical Center. He was born Nov. 11, 1944, in Bellaire, to the late Stanley L. and Beatrice McCloy Fraley.
Mr. Fraley was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves and a member of Rock Hill Presbyterian Church, Bellaire; Land of Legend Antique Tractor Club; and committee member of Centerburg Old Time Farming Festival.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Fraley of Johnstown; two sons, Bradley Fraley of Johnstown, and Brent (Teresa) Fraley of Newark; one sister, Nancy (David) Workman of Shadyside; two granddaughters, Rachel and Courtney Fraley; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
