Burton L. Solomon

A funeral service for Burton L. Solomon, 75, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, and a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Solomon retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation, died May 30, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born May 24, 1928, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to the late Deatrics Solomon and Nancy Solomon.
Mr. Solomon served in U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Solomon was a past master of Hannibal Lodge No. 41, member of L.D. Easton Consistory No. 21, member of Alla Baba Temple No. 53 and member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Burton Solomon Jr.; one brother, John (Minnie) Solomon; two sisters, Pearlie (James) Carmon and Ruby (Frank) Mitchell; special niece Delores Isaac; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Solomon; daughter, Helen Solomon; twin sister, Bertha Solomon; brother, Nelson Solomon; and special niece Cathrine Solomon.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark.

Esta Mae Borror
Feb. 3, 1908-June 3, 2003
A funeral service for Esta Mae Borror, 95, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Carolyn Hoskinson officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Borror, a homemaker and member of White Chapel United Methodist Church, died June 3, 2003, at the LPN Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 3, 1908, in Newark, to the late James L. and Etta (Toothman) Cullison.
Mrs. Borror enjoyed gardening and being a seamstress.
She is survived by her three stepdaughters, Joanne Borror of Newark, Marlene Dyker of Lovettsville, Va., and Jeannine (James) Murphy of Hebron; nephew, Ward Cullison; nieces, Ellen Klepinger, Mary LeFever and Bernice LeFever; six stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Barnard, in February of 1973; second husband, Kenneth Borror, in December of 1992; a stepgrandchild; one sister; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Inez L. Kuninger
May 20, 1918-June 4, 2003
A funeral service for Inez L. Kuninger, 85, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta and Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Wesley Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Kuninger, who was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, died June 4, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born May 20, 1918, in Hebron, to the late Oscar and Alice (Edwards) Hitt.
Mrs. Kuninger worked for Ohio Power as a switchboard operator in the 1940s.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Diana Kuninger of Newark; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Herbert Francis of Marne; grandchildren, Tammy Kuninger and Rob Slebodnik; great-grandson, Bradley Hardesty; and sister, Evelyn Hitt of Hebron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kuninger, on April 16, 1983, whom she married on November 2, 1946.

William "Bill" Rutter

Leroy E. Hedges
May 25, 1918-June 4, 2003
A funeral service for Leroy E. Hedges, 85, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hedges who retired in 1975 from Kaiser Aluminum as a mill operator, died June 4, 2003, at Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born May 25, 1918, in Pickaway County, to the late Emmett and Carey (Ellis) Hedges.
Mr. Hedges was a member of the Baltimore VFW and also the Baltimore Masons. He also was a World War II army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Dold) Hedges whom he married on Sept. 24, 1974; a son, Mark (Deidre) Hedges of Columbus; brothers, Pearl Hedges of Lancaster; granddaughter, Tara Hedges Lowry of Columbus; and grandson, Shannon Hedges of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.

John W. Detty

A funeral service for John W. Detty, 79, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Service, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Brownsville Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Detty, a retired oil well pumper, where he worked for Midland Oil, Sniders Brothers and Ray Penick, died June 4, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Brownsville, to the late Charles S. Detty and Emma (White) Detty.
Mr. Detty attended the Zanesville Worship Center.
He is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Lamb) Detty of Newark, whom she married in 1954; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela S. and Jack R. Bentley of Newark, Deborah C. and Rod C. Baughman of Newark, Carolyn A. and Thomas Mark Scanlon of Va., Jona J. and Todd R. Paulsen of Newark; two brothers and sister-in-law, George S. and Betty Detty of Jacksontown, Charles Harry Detty of Fla.; two sisters, Mary Lou Clark of Frazeysburg, Bonnie Lybarger of Glenford; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-laws, Thomas A. Clark, and Willis C. Lybarger; and sister-in-law, Donna Detty.

Raymond L. Keller

A funeral service for Raymond L. Keller, 72, of Millersport, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, with Janet Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
Mr. Keller, who was a lifelong farmer and a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the U.S. Army, died June 3, 2003, at his residence.
He is survived by three brothers, Herschel Keller of Lancaster, Darrell Keller of Millersport, and Frank Keller of Calif.; several nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Sylvia Keller.

Thelma I. (Ross) Beal

A private burial will take place for Thelma I. (Ross) Beal, 90, formerly of Thornville.
Mrs. Beal, a member of the Millersport United Methodist Church, died June 4, 2003, at the Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Millersport, to the late Edgar V. Ross Sr. and Stella May (Boyer) Ross.
Mrs. Beal was raised in Millersport and was a postal employee at the Millersport Post Office for 28 years. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Mount Clemens, Mich., Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters and Millersport American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Click) Kearney and Frank Kearney Jr. of Boston, Mass.; grandchildren, Denise Panos of Milwaukee, Wis., Frank Kearney III of Boston, Mass., Michael Kearney of Pleasanton, Calif., and Christopher Kearney of Boston, Mass.; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Edgar V. Ross Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; stepdaughters, Georgene Slack of Crooksville, Janene Stout of Newark, and Judy Stack of Reynoldsburg; and many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Click Jr.; second husband, Willard Beal; and sister, Carol Irene Lane.
