A funeral service for Lucy (Valerio) Vernon, 86, of Grove City, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Schoedinger-Norris Chapel, with Msgr. Frank P. Lane officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. Vernon died June 4, 2003, at Newark Health Care Center.
She is survived by her son, Walter (Sharon) Vernon; grandchildren, Vicki (Andy) Cantor and Valerie Vernon; stepgrandson, Scott Tanner; great-grandchild, Cade Canter; and sister, Helen Pellegrino.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon "Lefty" Vernon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Walter Russell Orr
June 4, 2003
A funeral service for Walter Russell Orr will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Testament Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Orr, who retired after 20 years from the National Guard, died June 4, 2003. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his daughters, Jan and David Honkanen of McDonough, Beverly and Larry Brown of Newark, and Shirley Bounds of Stockbridge; five grandchildren, Scott and Jeff Brown, Marcy Madson, Sherry Land and Christina Bounds; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary A. Fadley
July 27, 1922-June 7, 2003
A graveside service for Mary A. Fadley, 80, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Cemetery, with Pastor Terry Biggs officiating.
Mrs. Fadley, a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church in Newark, died June 7, 2003, at Arlington Nursing Home. She was born July 27, 1922, in Newark, to the late George and Emma (Westinghauser) Agnew.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Doris Fadley of Newark; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Robert Shook of Newark; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Fadley, in 1963; son, Larry E. Fadley; granddaughter, Darlene Kay Fadley; and two brothers.

Freda Marceline Dornon
Feb. 12, 1910-June 8, 2003
A funeral service for Freda Marceline Dornon, 93, of Thornville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church on Linville Road, with the Rev. Paul H. Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Mrs. Dornon, who formerly worked in advertising for the AFL-CIO and at Shelby Air Base in Shelby, Ohio, died June 8, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 12, 1910, in Cottageville, W.Va., to the late William Clark and Verna Casto.
In 1937, Mrs. Dornon helped restart Pleasantview Church in West Virginia, where she played piano for many years. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Brownie leader in the Thornport area. She could outfish, outswim and kick a football farther than any of her sons.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Roselee Hiles of Thornville; sons, Julian "Soup" (Marvel) Dornon of Thornville, Robert Lee (Audrey) Dornon of Cardington, Frederick C. (Ruby) Dornon of Newark, Roger Keith (Barbara) Dornon of Thornville, Larry Gene (Sarah) Dornon of Millersport, and Charles "Bill" (Penny) Dornon of Thornville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore R. Dornon, in 1984; grandsons, Robert Ray Hiles and William David Dornon; brothers, Holly and Dennis; and sisters, Evelyn and Mildred.

Blaine Moore
Oct. 1, 1918-June 8, 2003
A funeral service for Blaine Moore, 84, of Pataskala, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Kauber-Miller Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
Mr. Moore, a Navy veteran having served in World War II, died June 8, 2003, at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Lawrence County, Ky., to the late Charlie and Florence Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Moore; two sons, Robert (Judy) Moore of Blacklick, and Ronnie (Janet) Moore of Summit Station; one sister, Emily (Elza) Short of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, Wayne (Hope) Moore of Pataskala; sister-in-law, Vernice Moore of Homestead, Fla.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hillen and David; and one sister, Danie Short.

Mary Kathryn Sackett

A funeral service for Mary Kathryn Sackett, 88, of Granville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the McPeek Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. A. Bruce Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville.
Mrs. Sackett, a retired English teacher at Newark High School, died June 8, 2003, at Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born Sept. 29, 1914, to the late Elizabeth (Williams) and W. Ernest Tatham.
Mrs. Sackett was a graduate of Union High School and a 1936 graduate of Ohio University. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Newark since April 14, 1946, and a former member of the Outville Presbyterian Church, where she was active with the Outville Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Children's Hospital TWIGS Statewide 1 of Licking County.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including, Hannah T. Waring, Karen W. DeRusha, Paul A. Tatham, Hale Whipkey and W. Ernest Tatham; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Merchant Sackett, who died April 11, 1969; sister, Louise Whipkey; and brother, Paul L. Tatham.

A memorial service for Alice Elizabeth Staples, of Heath, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Heath Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta and Johnston Funeral Service, with Deacon Gene Dawson officiating.
Mrs. Staples died June 8, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.
She is survived by her husband, James Staples; children, Victoria E. Doucette, Shannon L. Roberts and Shane A. Staples; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie K. Hill; grandmother, Elizabeth Fields; and grandfather, Angus Fields.

Michael Dean died June 7, 2003.
He is survived by his parents, Michael Dean Bryson and Wendy LeMay of Buckeye Lake; half-sister, Madison Alexis Kisler; grandparents, Cheryl and Danny Rosser of Buckeye Lake, and Rick and Jenny LeMay of Buckeye Lake; great-grandparents, Mildred Foucht of Buckeye Lake, Willard Foucht of Somerset, Mary and Shirley Dale LeMay of Hebron, Hazel Williams and Bonna and Ronald Hoover, all of Columbus; aunts, Michelle Bryson, Christian Hutchinson and Stephanie Hutchinson of Buckeye Lake; uncle, Stephen Slocum of Millersport; and many cousins.
