A funeral service for Anna Jane Deal, 70, of Alexandria, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria.
Mrs. Deal died June 14, 2003, at Mount Carmel East Hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Newark, to the late Elza and Elma Kean.
She is survived by her four children, Cindy (Kelly) Thompson of Buckeye Lake, Robert Deal of Alexandria, Phillip (Beverly) Deal of Ashton, W.Va., and Deborah (Lisa) Deal of Newark; brothers and sisters, Harold Kean of Arizona, Susan (Sherman) Adkins and Margaret (Butch) Waggoner, both of Newark, Ruth (Paul) Wiegand of Lancaster, Della (Dale) Seymore of Newark, Jesse (Ina Rae) Kean of Alexandria, and Betty Kean of Maine; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Romeo Deal; son, Jerry Deal; and grandson, Romeo L. Deal.

Charles F. Allen
Dec. 20, 1931-June 12, 2003
There will be no service for Charles F. Allen, 71, of Newark, who died June 12, 2003, at home. He was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Newark, to the late Frank Russell and Maude (Good) Allen.
Mr. Allen worked in maintenance for the city of Newark. He was a former member of the Newark Eagles and attended the Second Church of Christ.
He is survived by his niece, Violet Price; great-niece, Holly Price; great-nephew, Frank Price; sister, Betty Jane Bonham; nieces, Valerie Jewell and Vicky Price, all of Newark; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Neville) Allen; brothers, Russell Allen and Jim Allen; sister, Mary Artis and Dorothy Hottinger; and nephew, Frank Price.
No calling hours will be observed.

Helen Loree Hilleary

A funeral service for Helen Loree Hilleary, 64, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with Pastor Ronald A. Newstrand officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Hilleary, a homemaker, died June 14, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born March 15, 1939, in Harrison Township, Perry County, to the late John H. and Idella L. (Dennis) Filkins.
Mrs. Hilleary was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Hilleary; sons, Kenny Lee Hilleary of Perry County, Patrick, Robert and Danny Hilleary, all of Newark; four grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn (Wayne) Harden of Indiana, Eleanor Yauger of Kirkersville, and Sandy Rusnak of Perry County; brother, Jack (Florence) Filkins of Perry County; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister.

Mary E. Leckrone
March 4, 1916-June 15, 2003
A funeral service for Mary E. Leckrone, 87, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William J. Rauch and Vicar Jon Kibler-McCabe officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Leckrone, who was retired from Rockwell International after 20 years of service, died June 15, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born March 4, 1916, in Somerset, to the late Wheeler and Edna (Helser) Williams.
Mrs. Leckrone was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Alice Circle at the church. She was also a member of the Rockwell Retirees.
She is survived by her daughters, Linnie Panning of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Suellen Barclay of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Allen W. Leckrone of Gahanna; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Peters of Rushville, and Clara Hume of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis A. Leckrone, who died Sept. 9, 1985; and sister, Frances Potts.

Marvine S. Catt

A funeral service for Marvine S. Catt, 84, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Catt, a homemaker, died June 16, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Amanda, to the late Otis and Bess (Aldenderfer) Stine.
Mrs. Catt was a member of First Baptist Church of Newark, Eastern Star 551 and American Legion Auxiliary-Lancaster.
She is survived by her son, William Catt of Jackson, Mo.; daughter, Suzanne (John) Bell of Newark; brother, Marvin Stine of Lancaster; grandchildren, Anthony C. Catt of Bellville, Ill., Jonathan Bell of Newark, Matthew H. Catt of Little Rock, Ark., Jason R. Bell of Alexandria, Va., and Barbara Bell of Newark; four nieces; and four nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Clyde Catt.

Josephine 'Jo' (Saturday) Bruce

A memorial service for Josephine "Jo" (Saturday) Bruce, 68, of Athens, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Wings of Hope Tabernacle, with the Rev. Terry F. Newman officiating.
Mrs. Bruce died June 14, 2003, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains, with her seven children and their father at her side. She was born July 29, 1934, in Savannah, Ga., to the late Reuben Saturday Sr. and Rosa Saturday.
Mrs. Bruce was Southern Baptist by faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by her four daughters, Martha Lafferty and Steve Farmer of Zanesville, Rosa and Randy Jones of Zanesville, Carla and Michael Evans of New Concord, and Brenda and Rex Kennedy of Zanesville; three sons, Bruce David Bruce of Athens, George and Diana Bruce of Grove City, and Frank and Janie Bruce of Columbus; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nadine Wright of Indiana; one brother, Reuben Saturday Jr. of Indiana; father of her children, Carl E. Bruce of Zanesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad M. Kennedy; sister, Nell Ziegler; and two brothers, Arthur and Robert Saturday.
Mrs. Bruce donated her body to the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Rex Allen Jones

A funeral service for Rex Allen Jones, 37, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas V. Beeman officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Jones, who was employed by Fibre Tech in Heath, died June 15, 2003, at his residence. He was born Sept. 9, 1965, in Newark.
Mr. Jones attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church and loved fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Mason-Trace of Newark; father, Ronald E. Jones of Zanesville; maternal grandmother, Patricia Mason of Newark; brothers and sisters, Brian Camp of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Barbara K. (Charles) Battles of Newark, JoEllen Moore of Newark, Kimberly K. (Richard) Hoover of Newark, JoAnn (Denver) West of Newark, Kristina M. Zipperer of Newark, Ronald Jones, Donna Jones and Diane Jones, all of Zanesville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
