A graveside service for John P. Wilkinson, 74, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Wilkinson, who retired from Newark Meat Supply, died Aug. 3, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born March 15, 1929, in Newark.
He is survived by his brother, Harold Wilkinson of Newark; sister, Geneva and Jim Blevins of Newark; nieces, Tami Wilkinson, Charlene Woods and Cheryl Blevins; nephews, Wesley Wilkinson, and Jimmy and Leonard Blevins; and an aunt, Dorothy Webb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Effie (Smith) Wilkinson.

Herbert A. Nold Jr.
Feb. 22, 1923-Aug. 3, 2003
A graveside service for Herbert A. Nold Jr., 80, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Newark, will be held today in Florida.
Mr. Nold died Aug. 3, 2003. He was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Newark, to the late Herbert A. and Lucy E. (Mattingly) Nold Sr.
Mr. Nold graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School and Ohio University. He was a teacher at Euclid High School and was a tennis coach in Euclid, Ohio. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marcy (Lonergan) Nold; sons, Herbert Nold III of Florida, Tom Nold and Mike Nold, both of California; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Maxine and Charles Gebhart of Newark, and Rita and Bob Wimer of Heath; brother, Bernard and Pat Nold of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph L. 'Sonny' Braunbeck Jr.
Dec. 17, 1935-Aug. 4, 2003
A funeral service for Joseph L. Braunbeck Jr., 67, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Penhallurick officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Braunbeck, who worked as a field salesman representative for Ohio Transport, died Aug. 4, 2003, at Riverside Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Newark, to the late Joseph L. and Edna Marie (Diehl) Braunbeck Sr.
Mr. Braunbeck was a member of the Port Clinton Moose Lodge 499. He graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1953, and was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He was a licensed charter boat captain in the United States and Canada, and spent many weekends at Lake Erie, where he was known as Captain Joe's Charter Service, "Hatchet Man."
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sylvia (Welsh) Braunbeck; sons and daughter-in-law, Ed and Melissa Braunbeck of Pickerington, and Joseph L. Braunbeck III and his special friend, Cindy Koch of Gahanna; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Shirley Braunbeck of Newark; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret and Richard Johnson of Newark, and Mary Talbott and her special friend, Frank Gibson of Newark; brother-in-law, Fred Carpenter of Baltimore; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Braunbeck; and sister, Lucille Carpenter.

Dolores Elaine Willis Voorhies

A memorial service for Dolores Elaine Willis Voorhies, 73, of Pompano Beach, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3901 22nd Ave., N.E., Lighthouse Point, Fla., with Pastor Redstone officiating.
Mrs. Voorhies, a registered nurse, died Aug. 3, 2003. She was born July 3, 1930, in Cambridge, Ohio, to the late W. Raymond and Mildred (Guthrie) Willis.
Mrs. Voorhies was a 1948 graduate of Cambridge High School and a 1951 graduate of White Cross Hospital's School of Nursing in Columbus.
After moving to Pompano Beach, Fla., in 1976, Mrs. Voorhies finished her nursing career at North Broward Medical Center, having worked in orthopedics for her last 20 years of nursing.
She is survived by her brother, Roger; son, John Voorhies; three daughters, Judy MacDonald, JoEllen Kendall and Joyce Glas; seven grandchildren, Annie, Jeffrey, Kathy, Kelly, Bryan, Kendra and Ayden; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Voorhies; and her older brother Donald.
To honor one of Dolores' last wishes, her youngest grandson, Ayden, will be christened at the service.
Della E. Morin

A funeral service for Della E. Morin, 87, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Frazeysburg, with the Rev. Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery.
Mrs. Morin, a homemaker, died Aug. 4, 2003, at the Heath Nursing Care Center. She was born May 23, 1916, in Hanover, to the late Charles W. and Goldie (Miller) Nethers.
Mrs. Morin was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star at Hanover and was Methodist by faith.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Jean) Morin of Dresden, and Danny Morin of Olney Springs, Colo.; daughter, Rebecca (Glenn) Baker of Lindsey; brother, Bill (Chris) Nethers of Toboso; sister, Ada King of Coshocton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Morin, whom she married on Aug. 29, 1936, and died on June 21, 1986; three brothers, Clarence, Leo and Joe Nethers; and sister, Esther Brown.

Esther Marie Tanner

A Mass of Christian burial for Esther Marie Tanner, 98, formerly of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Orians officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Ms. Tanner died Aug. 5, 2003, at her residence in Florida. She was born Oct. 27, 1904, in Corning, to the late William and Gertrude R. (Krebs) Schlingerman.
Ms. Tanner was a former parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Ladies Auxiliary, and the St. Thomas Aquinis Study Club. She also played the organ at Blessed Sacrament Church at nine years of age.
Ms. Tanner, a wonderful example of a loving and caring mother, always had a smile on her face. Family, gardening and playing cards were her life.
She is survived by her three daughters and son-in-law, Marianne Lee of Newark, Sr. Trudy Tanner, O.P. of New Port Richey, Fla., and Kathleen and David Brooker of Pataskala; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ivan E. Tanner, in 1989; two brothers; and one sister.

Margaret 'Peg' Howard Block

A service to celebrate the life of Margaret Howard Block was held on July 12 at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas. A reception followed. Inurnment was held at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
Mrs. Block was born and raised in Newark. She graduated from Doan Academy and Denison University in Granville. She had a master's degree in library science from Texas Women's University and served as L.C. Cataloger at the University of Dallas. She was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni, where she was a 50-year member.
She is survived by her son, Tim of the home; and half-sister, Ann Howard of Newark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Nelson Block.
