A funeral service for Michael Dallas Riddle, 23, of Newark, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel. Cremation will follow.
Michael Dallas, who died Sept. 15, 2003, went to heaven to join his mother Tracy, who died in January 2003. He was a 1998 graduate of Granville High School, and was formerly employed by Ohio Savings Bank and H.H. Gregg.
He is survived by his sister, Samantha Newell; brother, Travis Newell; grandfather, Gary (Susie) Baker; grandmother, Nancy (Richard) Welch; aunts, Tammy (Anthony) Houston, Toni Baker, Terri Salmon, Brandy (Scott) Moore, Carrie Baker and Cherri Welch; uncle, Willie Owens; and nine cousins.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home, 6699 N. High St., Worthington.

Claire R. Rice
May 11, 1924-Sept. 10, 2003
A memorial service for Claire R. Rice, 79, of Fort Collins, Colo., will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colo., with the Rev. Richard McDermott officiating.
Mrs. Rice passed away on Sept. 10, 2003, in Fort Collins, Colo.
Claire Virginia Rumsey was born May 11, 1924, in Homer, N.Y., the daughter of Elmer L. and Mary O. (Rothwell) Rumsey.
A former resident of Homer, N.Y., she had resided in Fort Collins, Colo., since 1986.
Claire married William F. Rice on Dec. 26, 1944, in Homer, N.Y. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Newcomers Club. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Rice of Fort Collins, Colo.; three daughters, Margaret Adams and her husband, John of Granville, Barbara McGiffin of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jeanette Sweeney and her husband, Gary of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister, Laura Rudin of Sanford, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seniors Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, c/o Allnutt Funeral Service.
Christopher H. Place
Aug. 30, 1981-Sept. 6, 2003
A celebration of the life of Christopher H. Place, 22, of Yokosuka, Japan, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill, where military honors will be observed.
Christopher died Sept. 6, 2003, in Yokosuka Shimin Hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1981, in Newark.
Christopher attended Lakewood High School, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He graduated from high school in Manitou Springs, Colo.
Christopher was on active duty with the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Warfare Technician 2nd Class and was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. He was on the U.S.S. Kittyhawk for 1 year and 2 months and the U.S.S. Vandegrift for 12 months. He served our country for 6 months in the Persian Gulf against the war on terrorism during Operation Iraqi Freedom and 2 months during Operation Enduring Freedom. His family was very proud of him and he will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his wife of 1 1/2 years, Andrea (Kurtzhals) Place; mother, Nancy (Mills) Place of Newark; father, Dallas H. Place of Columbus; sister, Suzanne Place of Newark; grandfather, William Mills Sr. of Granville; grandmother, Rosemary (Blevins) Mills of Newark; stepgrandmother, Marcia Place of Newark; mother and father-in-law, Martin and Joanne Haulik of Erie, Pa.; brother-in-law, Michael Kurtzhals of Erie, Pa.; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Smith of Erie, Pa.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dallas H. Jr. and Betty Place.

Steven M. Durbin
Feb. 11, 1951-Sept. 15, 2003
A funeral service for Steven M. Durbin, 52, of Gambier, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fischer Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Overholt officiating. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery in Danville, where graveside military services will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
Mr. Durbin died Sept. 15, 2003, in a construction accident in Heath. He was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Knox County, to the late Christopher F. and Johanna M. (Schleyer) Durbin.
Mr. Durbin was employed by Kokosing Construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from Feb. 17, 1971 to Nov. 16, 1972. He was a lifetime member of the Amvets and a member of the Moose Lodge of Mount Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Perrine) Durbin, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1987; son, Joel Mark Durbin of Mount Union, Pa.; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy (Charles) Koelbl of Fredericktown, and Betty Selby of Gahanna; two brothers, John (Pat) Durbin and Peter (Phyllis) Durbin of Danville; three brothers-in-law, Gene (Barb) Perrine of Newark, Steven Perrine and Jim (Lisa) Perrine of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Larry) Oliver of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Durbin; and a brother, Frederick Durbin.

Blackie (Harold G.) Blackburn

A graveside service for Blackie Blackburn, 71, of Johnstown, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Newark Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Knox officiating.
Mr. Blackburn was born May 7, 1932, in Trenton, Mo., to the late Albert and Lillian Blackburn.
He was a member of the American Legion, Heath Masonic Lodge and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Blackburn; one daughter, Debra (Bryan) Luther of St. Louisville; two sons, George (Jacquie) Blackburn of Gahanna, and Gerald (Rose) Blackburn of Heath; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Harry (Helen) Blackburn; sister, Dorothy Tyndel; and two stepsisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister.

Mildred M. Lisandrelli

A graveside service for Mildred M. Lisandrelli, 89, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lisandrelli died Sept. 16, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born July 2, 1914, in Deerfield, N.Y., to the late Scott and Florence (Kinlein) Ladd.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Pat Lisandrelli; daughter, Janet Cook of Newark; grandchildren, George Cook of Newark, and Tina (Robin) Athey of Heath; great-grandchildren, Darren Athey and Ciera Athey; sister, Esther D. King of New Hartford, N.Y.; and nephews, Jeffrey French and James French of New York.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth French.

Lewis T. Hill
Oct. 24, 1923-Sept. 15, 2003
A funeral service for Lewis T. Hill will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hill was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Greensboro, Ala., to the late Monroe and Josephine (Abrams) Hill.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He was retired from Newark Asphalt Paving Co.
He is survived by daughters, Mary Farmer and Earnestine H. Allen, both of Newark, and Rosetta (Larry) Magwood of Columbus; son, Tyrone Hill of Newark; sisters, Ruby Miles of Birmingham, Ala., and Sally Simmons of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brother, Daniel Abrams of Buffalo, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Anna (Wollens) Hill, in 1961; and son, Monroe Hill.

Edith F. Cullison

A graveside service for Edith F. Cullison, 101, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cullison, a homemaker, died Sept. 15, 2003, at Arlington Nursing Home. She was born May 13, 1902, in Highland County, Ohio, to the late Dawson and Rachel Holton.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Joyce Cullison of Newark; grandson, Carl Starling (Donna) Cullison of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Starling L. Cullison; a son, Jerrold Cullison; and two sisters, Susie Massie and Mabel Beatman.
There will be no calling hours observed.
