Steve Greene

A funeral service for Steve Greene, 46, of Johnstown, formerly of Madison, Wis., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark-Granville Road, Granville, with Pastor Jeff Pound and Pastor John Schouten officiating.
Mr. Greene died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1957, in Celina, Ohio, and grew up in DeGraff, Ohio.
He was a certified public accountant with Assurex Global Corp, Columbus, a member of Accountancy Board of Ohio, Ohio Society of CPAs & AICPA.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, Wis., in May of 1996, with a M.S. in accounting and received a B.S. in agricultural economics, Ohio State University, Columbus; Honors program of study in credit and finance. Member and Trustee of Spring Hills Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Korleski Greene of Johnstown; daughter, Ashley Greene of Johnstown; son, Daniel Greene of Johnstown; mother, Norma Jean Greene Covault of Quincy; brother, Mike (Cathy) Greene of Marysville; sister, Lavena (Randy) Hubble of DeGraff; brother, Terry (Clara) Greene of DeGraff; brother, Scott (Nancy) Greene of DeGraff; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Greene; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Lucille Korleski.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown.

Clarissa Roberta Lingafelter

A graveside funeral service for Clarissa Roberta Lingafelter, 83, of Hebron, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Ridge Cemetery in Thornville, with the Rev. Jeff Morlock officiating.
Ms. Lingafelter, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at the Heath Nursing Care Center, was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Donald and Adrienne (Foster) Spohn.
She was employed by Structurelite in Hebron for 29 years and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Thornville.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Thomas) Arbaugh of Newark; grandchildren, Sharie Oehlman of Columbus, Scott Brown of Fair Haven, N.Y., and Shawn Brown of Martville, N.Y.; and brother, Carl Eugene Spohn.

Catherine 'Sue' Smith
March 7, 1935-Sept. 17, 2003
A funeral service for Catherine "Sue" Smith, 68, of Heath, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Sue went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 17, 2003, at her residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 7, 1935, in Newark, to the late Forrest David and Kathryn (Rafftery) Smith.
Sue was retired from Larson's Manufacturing and worked as a houskeeper in the Newark area for many years. She was a member of the Buckeye Lake Fraternal Order of Eagles 2801, member of the Rosina Circle of United Ancient Order of Druids 41, and was a member of the Newark American Legion Post 85.
Sue will always be remembered by her warm welcome with a smile and a hug to all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her son, Robert (Julia) Smith of Heath; granddaughter, Amber Smith of Heath; great-granddaughter, Madison Hickman of Heath; sisters, Mary Mann, Peggy Roelle and Nancy (Dewey) Blevins, all of Newark, and Agnes (Richard) Dennis of Reynoldsburg; along with lifelong friend, Ben Smith of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Smith; two sisters, Joyce M. Garee and Carol R. McDonald; and brothers, Russell and David Smith.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. A Druids service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friday for their fellow sister.

Delmar H. Bartow
March 23, 1910-Sept. 17, 2003
A funeral service for Delmar H. Bartow, 93, of Reynoldsburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kauber-Miller Funeral Home, with Bill Hunt and Paul Snoddy officiating. Interment will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
Delmar died at the Pataskala Oaks Care Center on Wednesday Sept. 17, 2003. He was born in Shawnee, Ohio, on March 23, 1910, to the late Samuel H. and Sarah A. Bartow.
He had worked at Schodorf Truck Body and Equipment for more than 37 years and was a member of the Rose Hill Church of Christ.
He is survived by his son-in-law, Jay R. (Phyllis) Miller of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Miller-Smith of Pickerington, Tamara Jean (Herb) Miller-Wiard of Pataskala, Roger (Kim) Harr of Johnstown, Christopher (Katie) Harr and Jody (Brian) Holter, both of Pickerington; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Garnet P. Bartow; daughters, Virgene Mae Miller and Carol Ann Bartow; four brothers; and six sisters.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Kauber-Miller Funeral Home in Pataskala.
Lillian M. (Law) Clemens
Aug. 23, 1910-Sept. 18, 2003
A funeral service for Lillian M. (Law) Clemens, 93, of New Albany, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Kirkersville Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with Pastor Tom Keene officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Clemens, who was a member of the Millersport United Methodist Church, died peacefully Sept. 18, 2003, at New Albany Care Center. She was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Franklin County, Ohio to the late Melvin and Millicent (Beaver) Law.
Surviving are her loving sons and daughters-in-laws, Emerald "Scout" and Beverly Clemens Jr., Mel and Nancy Carol Clemens and Harvey (Sonny) and Nancy Lee Clemens; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Dodi Garverick; and many other nieces and nephews.
Lillian will be remembered for her deep love of the Lord, family and friends. She had a passion for life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Emerald Clemens; and her sister, Ethel Gress.

Carl A. Frazier
April 18, 1914-Sept. 18, 2003
A memorial service for Carl A. Frazier, 89, of Granville, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville, with the Rev. Karen J. Chakoian officiating. A private graveside service will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
Mr. Frazier, who retired in 1981 as a vice-president of Park National Bank and manager of the Granville office, died Sept. 18, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born April 18, 1914, in Nashport to the late Ethel (Woodward) and Walter Welsh Frazier.
Mr. Frazier was a 1932 graduate of Newark High School and a 1938 graduate of Denison University where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Following his graduation from Denison, he became a bookkeeper for the Peoples State Bank in Granville. After serving three years during World War II with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Europe, Mr. Frazier returned to the bank in 1945 and in 1961 became its president. In 1971, Park National Bank, acquired Peoples State Bank and he was named a vice-president and a director of the bank. Mr. Frazier was a member and past president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Bank Auditors and Comptrollers and served as chairman of the National Savings Committee of the N.A.B.A.C. Following his retirement, he continued to serve on the Board of Directors of Park National Bank until 1990.
Mr. Frazier had served as a member of the Granville Village Council, Granville village clerk, mayor of Granville, Granville Township clerk, chairman (10years) of the Senior Citizens Levy Committee and as a member (10 years) of the Licking County Planning Commission. He was a past-president of the Granville Rotary Club, treasurer of the Granville Historical Society, treasurer of the Board of Governors of the Robbins Hunter Museum in Granville, a member since 1933 of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as the treasurer for 25 years and as an elder, a past commander of American Legion Post 398 in Granville and a member of Center Star Lodge 11 F & AM.
In 1971, Mr. Frazier and five civic leaders established the Granville Foundation to "contribute to charitable purposes for the common good, general welfare and civic benefits of the Granville community." He served as the executive director of the foundation from its inception until 2002.
In 1988, the Society of Alumni of Denison University named Mr. Frazier as a recipient of the Alumni Citation award. Among his other awards are the Service to Mankind award presented by the Granville Sertoma Club and the Service Above Self award presented by the Granville Rotary Club. In 1998, the Granville Rotary Club created the Carl Frazier Community Service Award, given annually to a Granville High School graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding community service.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Pierce Frazier, whom he married July 9, 1949; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn A. and Frederica S. White of Granville; grandchildren, Jamison G. White and his fiancé, Kami L. Meinzinger, of Baltimore, Md., and Sheridan A. White of Columbus; sister, Dorothy Frazier Stuart of Manchester Center, Vt.; sister-in-law, Annabel Pierce Zimmers of Dayton; nieces and nephews, Sandra Stuart Kucha of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Susan B. Stuart of North Bennington, Vt., James R. Stuart of Arlington, Vt., Neal F. Zimmers Jr. of Dublin, Craig L. Zimmers of Dublin, and Elaine P. Johnson of Dayton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory S. Frazier; brother, Paul Frazier; and his aunt, Pearl Frazier Pierson, with whom he lived following the deaths of his parents.

Orena M. Haynes

A graveside service for Orena M. Haynes, 82, of Pataskala, was held on Sept. 18 at Kirkersville Cemetery, with Pastor Jane P. Mykrantz officiating.
Mrs. Haynes, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Granville, died Sept. 14, 2003, at her residence. She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Dollar County, Iowa, to the late Omar and Maude (Shelton) Marshall.
Mrs. Haynes was a graduate of Ross Township High School in Greene County, Ohio. She attended Cedarville College and was a graduate of The Ohio State University.
She taught home economics at Loveland High School and was employed by the Ohio Cooperative Extension Service as a home demonstration agent in Licking County (1944-57) and as a state specialist in textile and clothing until her retirement in 1977.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Granville, the Newark Soroptimist Club, the Fashion Group of Columbus and the American Home Economics Association.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Roger D. and Mary Haynes of Pataskala; former daughter-in-law and her spouse, Nancy and Richard Harmon of Pataskala; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Dean, Lee and Wayne Marshall; sister, Helen Bartley, all of Greene County, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul O. Haynes, in 1993; and by a son, Roy G. Haynes.
