A funeral service for Walter J. Alexander, 92, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service with Rev. James Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Alexander died Sept. 19, 2003 at his residence. He was born May 20, 1911 in Morgan City to the late William Lesley "Lett" Alexander and Blanche (Love) Alexander.
He retired from Ropper Company as a truck drive after 15 years of service. He also worked part time as a security guard for several companies. Walter was a avid hunter and bowler.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Mary ( Huffman) Alexander of Newark; son and daughter -in-law Carl and Gwen Alexander of Newark; daughter and son-in-law Maxine and Cecil Hyre of Brooksville, Fla.; grandchildren Curtis and Shawn Hyre and Nicholes, Marcus and Ericka Alexander; great grandchild David Hyre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Finley and half brother, Joe Alexander.

Cheryl V. Wessinger

A funeral service for Cheryl V. Wessinger, 51, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Bryan K. Grove officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wessinger, a homemaker, died Sept. 20, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born May 26, 1952, in Newark, to Robert W. Stewart and Arlene (Wright) Stewart.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Brandon Daubenmire of Newark; daughter, Shannon Wessinger of Newark; three grandchildren, Alyssa Daubenmire, and Jordan and Brendan Baker.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Stewart.

Gary T. Cook

A funeral service for Gary T. Cook II, 29, of Heath, formerly of Logan, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Cardaras Funeral Home, with the Rev. Betty Brooks officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Gary died Sept. 18, 2003, as a result of an auto accident in Licking County. He was born Dec. 28, 1973, in Logan, son of Gary T. Cook of Logan and Debbie Hamrick Thimmes of Logan.
Gary was a mechanic at Tuffy Auto Center in Columbus.
He was married to Jeannine Disbennett Cook, who survives.
He is survived by two daughters, Andrea Marie and Nicole Elizabeth Cook, both of the home; grandparents, Mrs. Lee (Betty) Wildermuth and Kathleen Hamrick, all of Logan; stepmother, Kathy Cook of Logan; stepfather, Anthony Thimmis of Logan; one sister, Kera Donahoe of Logan; one stepbrother, Jacob Nixon of Logan; five stepsisters, Jennifer Brinkley of North Carolina, Jill Lewis of Germany, Jessica and Jaculyn Nixon, both of Logan, and Andrea Lynn Thimmes of Thurston; two brothers-in-law, Michael Lee Bradley of Newark, and Brian Eugene Bradley of Cambridge; his mother-in-law, Deborah J. Bradley of Newark; he is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by grandparents, Dale Cook and Curtis Hamrick; and his stepfather-in-law, Walter L. Bradley.

A funeral service for Jarrod Alexander Lint, 4, of Blacklick, will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Jarrod Alexander passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Children's Hospital.
He was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, putting together puzzles and playing with his PlayStation.
He is survived by his parents, Barry and Sharon Lint; siblings, Bailey, Nicholas and Mariah; grandparents, Ruth Ann and Gary Lint and Jack and Ursula West; and many other loving family members.

Edith 'Ann' Patterson

A funeral service for Edith "Ann" Patterson, 72, of Pataskala, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kirkersville Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Jeff Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
Mrs. Patterson, a cook with the Southwest Licking School District, died Sept. 22, 2003, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1930, in West Jefferson, to the late Walter D. and Pearl A. (Wallace) Bennett.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Lions Club and was an avid bowler.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Dave Patterson of Ridgefield, Conn., Rick and Linda Patterson of Newark, Ben and Vicki Patterson of Oak Island, N.C., Randy and Traci Patterson of Pataskala, Shirley Patterson and Dean Clark of Portsmouth, Paul and Dana Patterson of Pataskala, and Rex Patterson of Pataskala; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Ethel (John) Lewis of Columbus; sister, Esther Fenton of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Edward Patterson; by a great-grandson, Robert Lee Patterson II; by two brothers, Jack and Walter Bennett; and two sisters, Lillian Morgan and Dorothy Casterline.

A funeral service for Gladys Ann Conner, 86, of Columbus, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Schoedinger Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Newark Memorial Gardens, 4244 Marion Road, Newark.
Mrs. Conner passed away on Sept. 22, 2003. She was a member of the Church of God of Newark.
She is survived by her children, April (Ron) Bondurant, James (Nancy) Banks, Sue (Bruce) Keller and Marilyn (Denver) Kidwell; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hagar Banks; and son, Charles Banks.

Jack Lee Lusk

A graveside service for Jack Lee Lusk, 83, of Heath, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Spring Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating.
Mr. Lusk, a veteran, died Sept. 23, 2003, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Licking County, to the late Charles and Sadie (Spiegel) Lusk.
Mr. Lusk was a truck driver for various trucking companies and was a retired Teamster.
He had also been a farmer for a number of years. He was a licensed Realtor and sold real estate locally for Johnny John Real Estate and Frame Realty. Mr. Lusk was a former member of the Newark Baptist Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Stella Lee (Sawyer) Lusk; son, Jim and Jeanie Lusk of Thornville, son, Harold M. and Mary E. Lusk of Mount Victory; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lusk of Heath; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Frederick A. Lusk; by a grandson, Matthew David Lusk; and brothers, Charles and Donald Lusk.
